Bestiary (Grisaire Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
Monsters[edit]
This is an alphabetical list of homebrew creatures considered special to Grisaire.
A[edit]
- Akhlut
- Araquine
- Arachnid horrors are all legendary creatures whose recipes are stored within a lost tome. While most of them are fantastically unreal, there are legends of some who did roam the earth at some point before being sealed away for their destructive tendency.
B[edit]
- A large variety of bears live on Grisaire. In addition to the black bear, brown bear, and polar bear, there are special kinds of bears like dire and giant bears. Regional variants also exist, though they can use the stat blocks of the usual brown bear, like pandas, which are found only on Lozor.
- Brainbill
D[edit]
- The Darmaseth are undead knights from Igribus that were slandered and executed for their involvement in a coup against the crown. Their death left a lot of bad feelings which were manipulated by the Uncreated to raise them from the dead as soldiers for the cause against the Thrones.
- Dracotaur are rare beings in Lozor created by Tarekaya using wild horses as a base.
- Dragon frogs are rare creatures found in the damp swamps of Khaire, the moist jungles of Doru Islands, and some of the southern parts of Lozor. True to their name, they are large creatures resembling normal frogs, but with draconic traits.
E[edit]
- Esquidna is a creature that terrorized the seas and was even stronger than morkoths and krakens. It is the origin of the xolpeca race. Supposedly, it was slain by some heroes near the northern shores of the Wallow.

U[edit]
- The Uncreated are an amorphous group of horrible and abominable creatures that can manipulate and twist life and death. They are led by three entities that are supposedly deities, or the equivalent of: Tsa'Horoth, Egan-Shiloga'Troh, and Jjglo'ärogsh. The ranks which serve them are mixtures of horrific demons to eldritch aberrations. For the purposes of this setting, many of the stat blocks for the Uncreated are reskinned or repurposed from existing blocks.
Flora[edit]

- Witherweed
- Dracoflora
- Theoflora, or "godly flowers", are blooms found only in Khaire, growing off the Eriath tree. They are supposedly symbolic of the fertile pores of the goddess Darakan'ta, and so secrete a special pollen that is collected to make the legendary Barrya nectar.
- Sacred Trees in Grisaire are believed to be gifts from Darakan'ta, the earth mother. Each tree is believed to be unique, though they are all referred to by familial terms. These trees can reach like spears into the sky and were thought to once hold up the heavens. There were originally four in the world, though only two now remain. Aberration and undead type creatures cannot willingly enter within 10 miles of a sacred tree. If they are within this distance, they suffer disadvantage on all attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks. This effect can be avoided if the undead or aberration is blessed with a prayer of Tsa'Horoth or Survelem.
- The Heart Root is the sacred tree growing in the capital of Adum, Selif. It serves as an arcane research center hub, as well as a guardian against encroaching aberrations and undead.
- Eriath is the sacred tree that grows in the Barrya jungle of Khaire. It hosts the only growths of theoflora in the world, which are used to create Barrya Nectar. The tree is tended to and inhabited by the kikura'aht race, who serve as stewards and guardians of the tree and surrounding jungle.
- Deep within the forests of western Zesh, in the ruins of the old cijelese kingdom, lie the hidden roots of Horvarn, a fallen sacred tree. Once standing as tall as the Heart Root, Horvarn was the center of the bygone cijelese kingdom. It was rediscovered by a cijelese named Lorien, who then established a guild to protect the roots, which show Horvarn to still be alive. According to legend, Horvarn was a sacred tree which produced weapons instead of the usual leaves. The cijelese are believed to have destroyed it in a scorched earth tactic as the Premier Force sought to take their kingdom. As such, Horvarn is heavily damaged and is unable to ward off aberrations and undead like its sibling trees.
- Lichbane is a plant valued highly for its anti-undead properties. It is known to effectively repel undead. Created by the god Survelem, it is commonly used to create incense and wards against undead.
- Blackfirs are occasional growths in the forests of Engal. They are the primary source of tindertwigs, which serve as a small, convenient light source.
Miscellaneous Creatures[edit]
- Spider Pig
- The sap sipper is a vegetarian form of the stirge. It feeds on the juices of plants rather than the blood of other creatures. It shares the same stat block as a stirge, but it has the additional feature which grants advantage in checks to track plant types. Its blood drain attack also deals an extra die of damage against plant type creatures.
