From D&D Wiki
Hey this is blobby383b, I am a user who ends up spending a lot of time here on the wiki enjoying the things it has to offer and working all sorts of things in D&D 5e. Feel free to leave a message if you ever have any questions about 5e, want input on a homebrew page, have questions about my edits, want to create something(if it is a class, I will need a lot of info/ideas to work with and I need to be interested in the idea, but feel free to always ask), or just want to talk about my new creations. Basically if you have a question or want to talk about something feel free to ask.--Blobby383b (talk) 18:10, 5 March 2018 (MST)
Some of the more useful pages I use include:
- 5e SRD/core rulebooks(PHB, MM, DMG)
- General info on Help:Portal (the amount of times I have linked Help:When to Italicize and Capitalize...)
- Template:Delete/why and Help:Deletion Policy are helpful resources that clarify many of the rules and reasons why pages can be deleted on the wiki
- 5e Race Design Guide and Musicus Meter (5e Guideline) are tremendous help in creating races
- Class Do's and Don'ts and Understanding Bounded Accuracy (5e Guideline) are just the tip of the iceberg in understanding how to make classes, but they are again very helpful in that creation
- 5e Creature Design Guide and Mythic Monsters (5e Variant Rule)
- Feat Design (5e Guideline), Spell Design (5e Guideline), Equipment Design (5e Guideline), 5e Class Design Guide, and most of DnD Guidelines
- Tiny Player Characters (5e Variant Rule), Large Player Characters (5e Variant Rule), Oversized (5e Variant Rule), and various other 5e Rules
- The Three Pillars of Adventure (5e Guideline) and Understanding Bounded Accuracy (5e Guideline)
- Sandbox place to mess around and try things
- Unearthed Arcana (5e) for quick and easy links to 5e UA
And always remember, you can consult the PHB(Player's Handbook), the MM(Monster Manual), and the DMG(Dungeon Master's Guide) for more info.
Wind Blade (5e Class)
My apologies, I left some feedback and a needsbalance message on this page, but didn't notice you were actively working on it till afterwards. I usually try to wait until principle editing has finished. Marasmusine (talk) 15:56, 29 June 2017 (MDT)
- That is fine, it is still work in progress because I did most of the work initially to just create a class, and planned to do a lot of work ironing out the details later. I will continue to work on it with any help I can get, and once it is completed, then we will see at removing the needsbalance and wording. I am looking at some of the edits Gamegeniecentral made and I am amazed at how much effort was put into cleaning up the class, and will be glad to work with them to finish the class.--Blobby383b (talk) 18:12, 29 June 2017 (MDT)
Sword of Revealing and Other
How about a sword of revailing light? --209.97.85.48 13:15, 8 July 2017 (MDT)
- What would the sword do? Do you mean revealing and would it reveal invisible creatures? --Blobby383b (talk) 13:21, 8 July 2017 (MDT)
- I admit my spelling might be a little poor. I do mean revealing and making invisible creatures visible is THE magical power it has. --209.97.85.48 13:30, 8 July 2017 (MDT)
- That could be interesting, it would probably have be a rare or very rare item. I will see what I can create and get back to you in a bit.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:35, 8 July 2017 (MDT)
- How does this look, Revealing Weapon (5e Equipment)?
How about Glassteel(as a Joke item)? --Redrum 14:08, 8 July 2017 (MDT)
- There is a specific name for items just like that where they have hundreds of different options, I forget what it is called though.--Blobby383b (talk) 14:28, 8 July 2017 (MDT)
- Found it 5e Trinkets, instead of creating a joke item just use this.--Blobby383b (talk) 14:49, 8 July 2017 (MDT)
Check out my other stuff i guess.
I have 3 I need checking tbh. The 'Aries' race, 'The Oath of the Old Ones(paladin)' archetype and the 'Aberrant'(Barbarian). The Aberrant one was a headache and the paladin needs to be relooked at eventually. When you look at them plz msg me for suggestions on potential edits i.e nerfs.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iberisdiablo (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
Check out my other stuff i guess. pt.2
There seems to be no discussion on the paladin class. The aberrant class gives the option of being a spellcaster. as well as the option of being an actual walking aberration. tbh both classes were based on different gods. the paladin is a cultist while the barbarian has the wizards of the coast warlock gods with the temperament of the old ones from bloodborne.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iberisdiablo (talk • contribs) . Warlock Patron
Can wild magic (or it's source) be a patron? --209.97.85.48 14:15, 12 August 2017 (MDT)
- Not wild magic itself, but a Warlock may draw magic from a creature/patron that embodies wild magic, as long as you can think of some background for an archetype and what the possible creature/s the Warlock can draw powers from for that archetype. For wild magic, the creature would be chaotic and could be from Limbo or some other outer plane.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:07, 15 August 2017 (MDT)
Overlord
This class has too many levels where it gets more than one feature: ok i will offer to take the servant feat from the list.
and the class is general is too powerful with a d12 hit die, spellcasting, terror points, and control of several minions. The hit die needs reducing to a d6: A d6? do you think he is a wizard? he's a fighter if you said d10 then it was understandable. but from you say a d6, I do not know if what you are writing is serious.
This class also has several features that are broken like strike fear/primary fear(frightened permanently): I am open to suggestions.
marked (no free actions, see Class Do's and Don'ts (5e Guideline)): it is however reasonable. I do not know who has made it but it will be converted into 1 bonus action.
Supreme Equipment(why is this even a thing?): It's cool and the player has a choice.
Looting Overlord(you can not say you earn more gold than your DM tells you find, it does not work like that): looting overlord workes like you DM says you found 10g in a dungeon, and you minions found 5% more gold outside the dungeon.
and several other features: please explain
Overlord is not as op as it seems. I've been to death saves 4 times, and if it had not been for my paladine, I'd probably have died. --faggetboy 9 oktober 2017
- Please see my comment left on the overlord talk page, the class in not as balanced as you might think.--Blobby383b (talk) 10:27, 9 October 2017 (MDT)
- Alright do you mind looking through it again? --faggetboy 12 oktober 2017
- I did a pretty major rework to the class, consider it a step in the right direction. The class just needs to be looked through a couple more times to finish and balance the class as well as to improve the class's overall wording.--Blobby383b (talk) 15:31, 15 October 2017 (MDT)
- Your taken a littel bit of the overlord out of that class—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 5.186.124.123 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- I have already said enough about the class on its talk page, about its problems. The class had balance problems, broke rules, had unclear wording, and made your DM conform a campaign around the class and its features, hence the need for the class to be changed.--Blobby383b (talk) 09:01, 19 October 2017 (MDT)
thanks so much your a real big help but now i have another problem how do i create a class im makeing one but it keeps comeing out wrong this is what it looks like http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Dominion_Overlord(5e_Class)#Creating_a_Dominion_Overlord it looks super werid —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alucarddragonborn (talk • contribs) . - We should delete then one you made and focus on the old one. Make it better and more balanced Name-less (talk) 08:11, 16 September 2018 (MDT)
- Which overlord class as of now deserves to be deleted? As of right now all of the different overlords(Dominion Overlord (5e Class), Overlord (5e Class), Overlord, Variant (5e Class)), while not perfect, don't seem to be in nearly a bad enough state to delete them, although I believe a decent amount of more work can still be put into them.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:55, 17 September 2018 (MDT)
- It is good that you are thinking about improving upon the few last issues the class had, but why do you think the original should be deleted? The original class doesn't fall under any of the typical reasons a page can be deleted covered by Template:Delete/why.--Blobby383b (talk) 10:22, 18 September 2018 (MDT)
- Its the variant that the original class. The curently original is the one you made it into. I was thinking about it becuse i wantet to remove one of them sinse there dosen´t need to be 2 of this class (Overlord (5e Class), Overlord, Variant (5e Class)). Warcraft Shaman 5e
There were quite a few problems I saw with your updates to the Warcraft Shaman 5e page. I understand that now it reflects more how it acts in WoW but I feel it doesn't quite work in the dnd setting. I went ahead and created a new class with my old info under the title of Original Warcraft Shaman that can be used to help update yours or be played with on its own.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by ExosDawnwalker (talk • contribs) . Battle Medic
The Mending Sinews in your version is incredibly weak for what is normally a Channel Divinity spot.
First: It consumes a spell slot. Why? This is generally a once per rest deal
Second, Why would I use this when in point buy, at level 2 using a hill dwarf or variant human, etc I'll have 16 WIS (+3 spell mod) and the +2 for healer perk and healing word for 1d4+5 at this point. 50% of the time I'll heal better with this. At level 8 I'll have 20 WIS and ALWAYS heal more with healing word. Revert this back to the original sinew of 5x level divided to any allies.
Third, Good job otherwise, its a lot more balanced compared to what is was (1d4 +2+level +mod was excessive) But you might consider putting it back to full caster as there are more draw backs considering it in its current state compared to a regular cleric (excluding the 60ft reaction revive)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2601:603:7F:DED7:0:0:0:2099 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- Mending Sinews is a weak and I agree it should be replaced, but why are you comparing to Channel Divinity, when this is a completely different class than the paladin? Also, when you max your Wisdom ability score early, you are left with a fairly weak PC with few hit points and a low bonus to your attack and damage rolls(your main source of damage), because of this, I will be changing the main ability score of the class to Strength and making Wisdom secondary.
- The class is not a full spellcasting class, and would not be balanced if it was because many of the class's features would be overpowered in a full spellcasting class and the class would have too many features.--Blobby383b (talk) 18:35, 21 October 2017 (MDT)
- ~ Not sure how formatting works here. Anyways, it uses a Cleric as its basis for spells and mostly functions a life one, which (clerics) also have a CD at level 2 (Turn Undead, Artisan's Blessing, etc). The new Sinew's looks great though. As the Battle Medic uses Cleric spells, sacred flame would actually be (my) main source of damage as most creatures early on can't save very easily against a DC 15 WIS, though they usually don't have much AC either but at this point its more playstyle preference. Up until level 5 that is when it gets the extra attack feat then definitely, melee would be the way to go instead, but at 14 dex on a long sword used in one hand (1d8x2/turn) combined with a shield in the other with a chain shirt (17 AC with 14 CON) you have a respectable health pool and AC to mitigate the loss early on and if you're going human variant and pick up war caster early on you'll have advantage on CON saves anyways. The end result is just a life cleric with half the spells and in the savior tree a fancy revive as a reaction 5 times per rest. I appreciate your promptness in response though and hope I haven't upset you, these are just my observations and I'm trying to see it in another light, but if your objective is to heal your allies and keep them safe there is little here that stands out from standard classes. The potions are neat and definitely one of the unique points of the class though.
- You are right in that the class is more balanced than before, but feels weak compared to Cleric. I will be tweaking a few features here and adding a few others to see if I can make the class a bit more powerful and unique. Besides that, I am not opposed to quickly discussing about what balance changes that need to be made to class's here, but for now, if you have any more suggestions or comments about the class, I will be happy to discuss them on the class's talk page.--Blobby383b (talk) 08:45, 22 October 2017 (MDT)

Please Stop
This is Kungfuking though I appreciate you trying to help edit my weapon the blades of hanzo I request you to stop and leave it be do not change again. Just because you say it does not do 2d6 damage does not give you the right to change it, if you feel that way then I suggest you look at some of the other shortswords on the list and change them and not single mine out. I repeat please reframe from changing my weapon. (talk)
- This is a wiki. You need to be prepared for other people editing the pages you create. At the bottom of every edit box, including the one I am currently typing this message into, there is a message that says "If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here." If you truly do not want anyone else to edit "your" page, you can move it into your userspace, where other users are not allowed to edit, except for administrators to remove content that breaks sitewide rules. - Why are trying to change the default amount of damage that a weapon can deal, it just does not make any sense and makes the weapon overpowered. Also, besides user pages and a select few pages on the wiki, all content can be changed at any time by anyone as no one owns pages on the wiki. --Blobby383b (talk) 14:07, 7 November 2017 (MST)
- so to prove your point you deleted it? How about this, we compromise you put it back and instead of 2d6 we do the normal shortsword damage of 1d6 and leave the rest alone, can we agree on that? --KungFuKing (talk) 19:44, 7 November 2017 (EST)
- Yes we can agree on that. Also, even without listing the damage, the damage on the weapon would have been 1d6 as that is the regular damage a shortsword deals.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:53, 7 November 2017 (MST)
- True, but for me it makes it easy for people who forget what damage it does and don't want to look it up. By the way I saw this picture on...well it was google or yahoo and thought of a new race to make can I send you a picture of it or I can't?--KungFuKing (talk) 20:05, 7 November 2017 (EST)

Glass Sword
I politely disagree with the changes you made to one of my pages, the glass sword. First, a vanilla +3 weapon which doesn't require attunement is only a very rare weapon, not a legendary weapon, according to the precedent established by 5e SRD:Weapon, +1, +2, or +3. Second, I don't think it's fair to equivocate a +2 weapon which can be used indefinitely (a +2 magic sword) with a +3 weapon which has a 5% chance of being irrevocably destroyed with every attack - the former is significantly more desirable, at least in my opinion. Quincy (talk) 19:20, 22 November 2017 (MST)
- You are right about the +3 SRD weapon, but I think it is very fair to compare a limited +3 weapon with a +2 weapon. Another reason I changed the rarity is that 1st level adventures have the potential to get uncommon items and this weapon is not even close to being balanced when used at low levels. There is also the problem of using the sword for oneshots or short campaigns. The very way the weapon is designed makes it potentially broken in those short campaigns while balancing the item out over longer ones.
- Anyway for me, I would prefer taking a weapon that deals additional damage/has higher bonuses to attack and damage rolls but could break at any time, but that is just my opinion.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:44, 22 November 2017 (MST)
- Honestly it is hard to tell exactly how much weaker a 1/20 chance of breaking makes a magical weapon, with percentages that small it largely is up to luck.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:57, 22 November 2017 (MST)

A comment about precedent for magic items
Hi Blobby, I noticed that you criticized a few 5e magic items on the basis that "Magical items don't increase ability scores they set them to odd numbers", as you said on Bracelet of Ascendant Potential (5e Equipment). I don't believe that in this instance you are correct, as Ioun Stones exist within the official rules, and they do just that. Quincy (talk) 22:09, 6 December 2017 (MST)
- Lets see what the DMG has to say about it, I will get back to you on it.--Blobby383b (talk) 22:13, 6 December 2017 (MST)
- Whatever you find, thanks in advance for your consideration. Quincy (talk) 22:23, 6 December 2017 (MST)
- It seems like they can based on "If an item delivers a static bonus to AC, attack rolls, saving throws, or ability checks, this column suggests an appropriate bonus based on the item's rarity." on page 285 of the DMG, but there really isn't a point to increasing ability scores(and it makes things more convoluted) when a +4 bonus is valued the same as setting ability scores to 29.--Blobby383b (talk) 22:28, 6 December 2017 (MST)
- Plus ability scores are still limited to the maximum of 20, even with bonuses. There is also the fact that increasing your maximum ability score would count as part of the power level of a magical item, making items that increase your ability score even weaker...--Blobby383b (talk) 22:44, 6 December 2017 (MST)
- Aside from ioun stones, there's examples like manual of bodily health and its relatives. Based on the tables in the DMG and XGtE, it seems like magic items that set scores are "preferred" over ones that increase them; they will be found more often if those tables are used to determine magic item rewards. That said, it's clear from first-party material that magic items which increase ability scores (as opposed to those which "set" ability scores) should at least be fair game for homebrew content. - Guy (talk) 23:02, 6 December 2017 (MST)
- Whatever you find, thanks in advance for your consideration. Quincy (talk) 22:23, 6 December 2017 (MST)
Machinamancer and spells
Hey Blobby,
I was told that you would be able to help me. I've recently uploaded a class and some spells that we use in our D&D canmpaigns. However, it would be nice to get opinions/balance changes. I was told to post it like this with links below.
Class: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Machinamancer
Spells: They are all under Wizard and being with "Leonardo's..." or "Viktor's..." There is one Cleric Spell - https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Viktor%27s_Teachings_For_Adran
I hope this is correct? If there's anything I need to do or change, let me know and thank you in advance for any help!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Erias (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.

Fairemere Blade
Hi Bobby, thank you for changing the layout on my magic blade, first time making a magical weapon as one of my players wanted to have a special blade to do with his background (killing and trapping the souls of his sister and mother). I did make the mistake of creating the page before creating an account whoops, I know not to do that in the future ! I agree with most of the changes you made, making it more balanced instead of stacking abilities. I did attempt to make it more balanced by adding in the absorbing HP ability, but using the max being equal to the level is much less OP. I'm not sure I agree with the way souls can be absorbed, particularly if they die within 10ft, to better suit the nature of the blade I will make it that the sword still has to be the one to slay the humanoid. All in all, thank you heaps for balancing as this is my first time creating homebrew things for D&D. Halflingbarbarian (talk) 05:26, 16 December 2017 (MST)
- Hey Halflingbarbarian, thanks for the feedback and for the weird backstory on why the weapon was created lol. As for the weapon, I added the die within 10ft part because it sometimes hard to always land the killing blow on creatures and I wanted some way to mitigate that. If the aoe soul absorb doesn't fit in with the lore/what you think the weapon should be able to do, feel free to change it back to just killing blows. As always, good to see another user get started on the wiki and happy editing.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:07, 16 December 2017 (MST)
Editing that was done to my weapons, and ammunitions. Xslasher112
So you have been going around changed a large majority of my builds for weapons, and ammunition. I have changed it back, on some keeping what you have changed. But i have designed for example the railgun + railgun ammunition to be like that as it is a racial/Class Legendary weapon. It is only obtainable to the Mechanoid Race/Berserker class and is a level 20 legendary weapon. That is why it costs 1m gp. The railgun its self does no damage, but it charges and fires a railgun round at extremely high velocities dealing a large amount of damage.i reduced the damage from a 20d20 to a 15d20, but the railgun for a level 20 weapon is designed to hit very hard. But this is if it hits, late level creatures tend to have a very high AC and the gun has to roll a pretty high attack vs AC in order to hit. In addition the misfire property i added was implemented so players could not spam the railgun. I would like to ask for future reference that you would leave a note instead of actually changing what i have put down. I am all ears for opinions on how to balance a weapon but in the design i worked hard to make to be completely changed was a little upsetting. Please just leave a note on what you think i should do, and i will consider this from now on. Thank you very much for reading this long message.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xslasher112 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- There are no racial/class level 20 only weapons. Equipment does not work like that, as a DM can decide to give you this item or others at levels earlier than 20 and probably will as almost all campaigns do not go to level 20. There are no prerequisites to using weapons, you can still use weapons that you don't know how to use, but you make attack rolls without your proficiency bonus.
- The DMG specifically does not have costs for futuristic weapons(and you ignored my comments here) and which was why the costs for scorpion whip and the railgun was changed to -.
- On another note, there is nothing to stop another user from using the same ammo you created on another weapon, and the ammo is very much broken as an arrow of slaying costs 25,000 gp and only deals 6d10 damage halved on a failed save against certain creatures, compared to 15d20 damage for 1000gp.
- This is a wiki. You need to be prepared for other people editing the pages you create. At the bottom of every edit box, including the one I am currently typing this message into, there is a message that says "If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here." You do not retain ownership of things you put onto the wiki, see Help:Legal for more info.
- Finally, checking how things like races, classes, and equipment are balanced by reading their relevant sections in the PHB and DMG will help immensely, as opposed to creating broken things and reverting other users edits made to improve them.--Blobby383b (talk) 07:28, 11 January 2018 (MST)
- Hello, Xslash112. I, an admin, have reverted the page for the time being. While I am more open to non-standard content than most, I feel that your weapon falls far enough outside the bounds of the standard 5e rules as to be very difficult for other groups of players to implement it. This appears to be Blobby383b's reason for changing the weapon to allow more groups of people to benefit from your idea. In my opinion, the changes were constructive and maintained the feel of the weapon and I second Blobby's advice in the last paragraph to read the relevant sections of the PHB and DMG, as this may give you insight into the changes. Please understand that no one means this as a personal attack against you or your ideas — we just want it to be usable for people besides yourself :) --GamerAim (talk) 12:39, 12 January 2018 (MST)
Architect (5e Race) Followup
Dear Blobby, Thank you for the kind and helpful post you left about my race on my talk page. I have invented a plethora of custom mechanics and systems for the current campaign I’m running across 3 different platforms, and one such system allows players to trade higher-tier “currency,” sort of like prestige tokens of sort, for max-tier classes in order to compete with the accelerated creatures and bosses I have before the players. Understandably, I wanted to have all available resources and options for my players on an easy-to-access source. It appears that three of the six pages I have posted over the past four months have been completely deleted without notice or warning, despite being complete classes. I assume they were taken off due to being “hyper-specific content that doesn’t apply to anyone,” as ConcealedLight (talk) phrased it on my Architects Page. I would appreciate it if you could recommend me another platform of access that is as easy and laid out as the Wiki here, as it is obvious there are some who would prefer my content remain elsewhere. Thanks again, Celestial Mechanist (talk)
- Hey Celestial Mechanist, sorry to hear that some of the content you created was deleted. As far as I know, there are a few other sites for creating homebrew stuff for 5e. There is <redacted> which seems like another relatively popular platform to create homebrew stuff, and there is the <redacted> which is another site that is quite popular for creating official looking content. I believe the <redacted>, has an edit and a view link so you can choose who has access to edit pages you create as well.
- If you still want to stick around on the wiki, I would suggest moving some of your personal pages to User:Celestial Mechanist/WIP/1 or some other names. Whatever you choose, I wish you good luck creating content.--Blobby383b (talk) 14:11, 11 January 2018 (MST)
Drunken Mystic Boxer (5e Class) We need to talk
Dear Blobby, While I know the class needs work and I am going to work on that. I would very much appreciate it if you would talk to me first before making massive edits. I was very un pleased when I hopped on today to start working on the class to find that so much was changed, please understand that I don't mind people making edits to make it more fair. But when the changes made not only start removing features I had every intention to keep, but as well as had changed massive parts of its original layout. I will repeat I am far more than willing to accept help, but if the change is going to be something that big I would appreciate you talking to me before hand. If you would like I am even willing to give you a more reliable way of contacting me other than through here. Sincerely, Grave Von Winscott
- I feel edits to the class in question had to be made largely because an anonymous user posted a completed class to the wiki that copy and pasted the class features of two separate classes into one class and failed to make any balance changes what so ever. You are free to change the class around to fit what you believe a drunken mystic boxer should be able to do, as this is a wiki that should improve with various users edits.--Blobby383b (talk) 00:25, 16 January 2018 (MST)
- Well, about that it wasn't meant to be posted as completed as well as my intention was to make a hybrid class of those two using them as a base and fusing them into something new and fun. As for it saying completed it shouldn't have said that as I only saved it like that cause I was going to sleep and planned on continuing to work on it when I could. Also I had thought I signed in but I guess not. -Grave Von Winscott
- Yeah, if a class(or any other page in its relevant section) does not have templates on it, such as {{stub|Incomplete.}} it will appear under 5e Classes as opposed to 5e Incomplete Classes. As for the class itself, good luck getting with getting all the features from the two separate classes to work together.--Blobby383b (talk) 08:57, 16 January 2018 (MST)
- I hate trolls, I know it needs to be balanced and fixed more, I didn't remove the incomplete stub i'm still editing it a troll removed the stub. -Grave von winscott
- I understand, see my comments on the class's talk page. Besides that, I am not opposed to quickly discussing changes that need to be made to pages here, but for now, if you have any more suggestions or comments about the class, could you leave them on the class's talk page.--Blobby383b (talk) 15:20, 18 January 2018 (MST)
Light, Versatile, Heavy properties
On Discord you'd made mention a weapon cannot have more than one of these and I asked out of curiosity if it is SRD/RAW and no one really knew. Reason being because in my head, why can I not wield a light weapon with two hands to get a little extra humph? For instance, 1d4 or versatile being 1d6. Or 1d6 1H and 1d8 2H. I wouldn't go higher than this though. I totally understand heavy not having this option, but why not the let the little guys (weapons) have it? BigShotFancyMan (talk) 12:45, 24 January 2018 (MST)
- I think I might understand where doing this can cause confusion to the players. So a workaround I thought of would be listing the properties as Special, Versatile (1d8). Special: While wielding this weapon 1 handed, you may treat is a Light weapon. Only thinking on this so much because I've seen it in the past once, and now 2x within a few days. This might be a compromise to make those users happy that are trying to achieve this idea. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 14:03, 24 January 2018 (MST)
- The DMG does not have a section specifically on mundane weapon creation. You can however infer several things about mundane weapons based on their descriptions in the PHB:
- Two-handed weapons may not have the light or versatile properties
- Heavy weapons may not have the light property
- The DMG does not have a section specifically on mundane weapon creation. You can however infer several things about mundane weapons based on their descriptions in the PHB:
- Then there are a few other rules for mundane weapons that may or may not be true such as:
- Two-handed weapons may not have the thrown property
- Light weapons may not have the versatile property
- Then there are a few other rules for mundane weapons that may or may not be true such as:
- Part of the problem with having versatile light weapons is that the versatile property is largely redundant as simply wielding two light weapons in one hand each is considerably better than wielding a light versatile weapon in two hands. 2 light weapons can deal (7) 2d6 damage versus wielding a light versatile weapon in two hands which could deal (4) 1d8 damage.
- On another note, I will continue looking for specific examples of what weapon property combinations are allowed, but so far I am falling up short.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:57, 24 January 2018 (MST)
- So a couple things, longsword isn’t two-handed and yet gets wielded two handed under versatile. I get that two-handed weapons are heavy. So not chasing that. The idea is weapons that don’t require two hands. Weapons that aren’t heavy. I’m aware of 2WF benefits which is why I wouldn’t agree with a light/finesse weapon dealing more than 1d6. The only time these weapons would deal 1d8 is when wielding with both hands, so it’d never be 2d8. Its no different than wielding 2 short swords or scimitars. Just these weapons do not have versatile and cannot deal extra damage for being wielded in both hands. If homebrewers did so, I’m not seeing the advantage. I’m not catching where this breaks the game or puts a wielder above others. I don’t see it as redundant, it means the wielder can use a shield if they wish with the weapon. Why not just get a shortsword and shield and also a 1d8 weapon? idk, because they want a weapon that doesn’t require the extra space or effort to swap our. I’m curious if you’re against simply because you don’t like it. (I type this politely since like I said, I cannot see a real issue allowing this) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 19:02, 24 January 2018 (MST)
- I believe not allowing is rai, but I am not sure. I am also not against weapons having both, as it doesn't break weapon balance, but I am not sure that they should.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:34, 24 January 2018 (MST)
Formatting Question
Hi Blobby! You've answered one of my questions about wiki formatting before so I thought I'd ask you... Can you tell me how to make an expandable/collapsible text box? Quincy (talk) 19:31, 2 February 2018 (MST)
- Sure thing Quincy, to create something that can be shrunk down you can use <div class="toccolours mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" style="width:60em;"> Content inside </div> to produce
- You can also change the length by changing 60 to some other number(I would recommend between 20 and 100 as anything past 100 goes off the page). If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will try to answer it to the best of my abilities. For future reference, see the wiki's Help:Editing, Help:Standards and Formatting, Help:Table and my WIP page for useful things for more info on formatting things on the wiki. While these pages don't cover everything, they should cover enough for most users.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:54, 2 February 2018 (MST)
Saiyan fighter
Hey Blobby383b I have a personal crusade to balance this Saiyan class. That being said I don't know much about the specific rules of these classes. Yesterday you said that the round counting, ability score bonuses and the super Saiyan monkey are problems. I was just wondering if I could get more information so I can know how to fix things. Is round counting strictly forbidden somewhere? Is ability score manipulating a no no? Is there a rulebook somewhere? I could love as much information as you can give me. Thanks Zeusonamoose (talk) 23:25, 4 February 2018 (MST)
- I would just like to say that the class is looking much better compared to earlier, good job. As for questions about the class, I have left a fairly detailed explanation on the class's talk page about some of the problems the class still has, and if you have any more questions about the class, I would be happy to go over them on the class's talk page.--Blobby383b (talk) 00:27, 5 February 2018 (MST)
- Zeus here. Do you know why the class was completely deleted? I put so much work into that and I cant even make a copy of it for my own editing. Do you happen to have a copy of what it was before it was deleted? I would greatly appreciate any help in getting a copy of it. Zeusonamoose.
- Hey Zeus, I believe the original class was deleted for being game breakingly powerful compared to 1st party classes along with having other issues that went unaddressed for several months. If you are Zeusonamoose through(the comment was made by an IP so idk), you should find that I sent you a link to a copy of the class that was saved.--Blobby383b (talk) 11:01, 26 May 2018 (MDT)

Warforged, 2nd Variant
Hey Blobby, Just wanted to swing by and say thank you for your help in cleaning up my version of the Warforged. Concealed Light meant well, but the drag net he was expecting from me was honestly not in my scope at the time. Seeing the changes you made has helped me nail down what this wiki expects as wording. When I write out my own homebrew, I usually do what I can to hold true to the wording presented by WotC printed material. Usually to maintain continuity. I seem to have rambled, anyway thank you a lot for your help. --Gr7mm Bobb (talk) 10:41, 17 February 2018 (MST)
- No problem glad to help, and it is also really hard to always get the wording correct on everything, so don't be too worried about it. I hope your future brews go well and that my edits helped clear up how to properly word the traits in question.--Blobby383b (talk) 11:36, 17 February 2018 (MST)
WIP/user space
Can you help explain how to make one of these pages? I don't necessarily need it to be a WIP but I'd like to have a user space like a lot of other honour guard for a thing or two. If it helps, the first thing I want the user space for is some 5e equipment. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 10:27, 1 March 2018 (MST)
- Just create a subpage of your user page: for example, User:BigShotFancyMan/Sandbox. The "User:BigShotFancyMan/" section denotes the page as being a subpage of your user page, and "Sandbox" is the actual name of the page. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 10:31, 1 March 2018 (MST)
- I really appreciate the help, but the phrase "just do this" doesn't explain how to do this. When I am on my user page I do not see an option to "create subpage". Or a link like that anywhere. How does one cerate such a subpage? Really sorry to ask for such a step by step process, I cannot find something on the wiki for it. (insert picture with crayons joke wherever :p ) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 11:10, 1 March 2018 (MST)
- You can create new user pages one of two ways. You can go to any page that allows you to create a new monster/race/class/ect. and type in the name of your user page as the page name, say "User:BigShotFancyMan/Equipment" or can create a link to a non-existent user page, say User:BigShotFancyMan/Equipment and just click the link to go the page. Also, remember to remove the pages breadcrumbs so it doesn't appear on lists like 5e Classes when you create it.--Blobby383b (talk) 11:40, 1 March 2018 (MST)
- Thanks Blobby, I was just doing option 1 while you put this here. and thanks again for trying to help Geo. A new page has been turned in my wiki adventures :) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 11:46, 1 March 2018 (MST)
- I hope it will help! You can pretty much use user pages for anything, Geodude671 has a bunch of user pages that sorts things, while I have a bunch dedicated to random ideas and a wip page for useful things. Be innovative and don't be afraid to try things.--Blobby383b (talk) 12:13, 1 March 2018 (MST)

Ability Score Drain
What is your opinion on ability score drain as seen in the CR 1/8 Shadow. How would you implement this in a magic item/weapon or give this ability to players?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.121.193.244 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- Ability score drain is a unique feature for creatures, and if I had to give it to a PC it would probably work for a weapon like (if you hit a creature with this weapon, they must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw at the end of your turn. On a failed save, the target's Strength score is decreased by 1 for 1 hour) but I would keep in mind that normally, PC's shouldn't be given access to things that can decrease ability scores for a variety of reasons.
- An ability score decrease on a bbeg could make an encounter too easy, plus DM's have to change a creature's statblock on the fly
- If the creature has to make a saving throw to avoid getting its ability score drained on every hit, it would greatly slow down combat(see how this is addressed above).
- Negative modifiers(and most positive ones) have largely been phased out in favor of using advantage/disadvantage and having/not having proficiency in something, see the info on stacking bonuses below.
- PC's shouldn't be able to modify ability scores, it messes with bounded accuracy, there is no precedent for it, and the design for 5e tends to avoid stacking bonuses so you don't have 4-5 different sources of bonuses or negatives like in previous editions.
- Note, magical items can sometimes alter a PC's ability scores, but they can only increase an ability score by a small amount or set your ability score to a certain amount.
- Don't let these issues dissuade you however, you are free to do whatever you want in your game.--Blobby383b (talk) 12:07, 24 April 2018 (MDT)

Variant Figurines of Wondrous Power
Did you change Silver Eagle to Silver Octopus because it might be confused with the Garnet Eagle? --209.97.85.48 12:55, 14 July 2018 (MDT)
- Yes, I changed the Silver Eagle to Silver Octopus because Garnet Eagle is more versatile than the Silver Eagle, the two different figurines summoned the same creature, and when I looked at all the other figurines, they was very few aquatic creatures/figurines.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:20, 14 July 2018 (MDT)

Thank You.
Your work on the Nomad class looks spectacular and seems to be balanced, at initial review, as of my writing this (8/2/2018). I will be play(test)ing your work on a new character in my weekly D&D game. After perusing your work with my current DM, we have both come to the conclusion that this class seems balanced enough to use and he has approved it for use in his campaign. I must say, you should consider this a major compliment because he is very picky about what he allows into his campaign via homebrew sources, and has a -very- stern eye towards anything from this website. When we both finished reading the class description, he was ecstatic that I was choosing this class.
Thank you so much for your efforts toward creating a refreshingly different class option for player characters. I look forward to keeping you up-to-date on the adventures of Roscoe Tinpenny, the lightfoot halfling nomad wanderer!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by KeyOfSolomon (talk • contribs) . DM-Permitted Overpowering
Howdy, Blobby! I was wondering if you could give me a hand with something. I've made a race (Clockwork Man), that, rather than using subraces, gives characters a list of specializations that the player can select from (a limited number of times, of course); this allows for increased diversity within the character itself, and the ability to adjust to different classes. This hasn't proved a problem, and one user even claimed it to be a well-made and well-balanced race. However, I've wanted to include some traits and specializations that may give the player a powerful edge, such as flight or enhanced ability scores. I was wondering, if I put some of these "overpowered" specializations in a section with a disclaimer that only allowed them to be used at the DM's discretion, how much risk would I be at of having an unbalanced template, and do you have any other ideas? --Calibri (talk) 21:14, 15 August 2018 (MDT)
- Hey Calibri, your idea of having a few more powerful traits to go along with the other specializations seems like a fun idea, though I believe having specializations that are just strictly more powerful than the other ones may push the race over the edge. Two ideas I do have to make it so you can have more powerful specializations include having more powerful specializations costing more "uses" or making it so they have differing amount of costs(from 1 to 3 cost) or for you to potentially make a racial feat with the included more powerful specialization options. Either way, you have already done a great job on the race so far, so adding more unique options to it makes it sound even better.--Blobby383b (talk) 23:51, 19 August 2018 (MDT)

If I replace a cat's Keen Smell w/ a Sixth Sense deal and add psychic damage to it's attacks, would the CR go up? --209.97.85.48 12:53, 29 September 2018 (MDT)
- It would really depend on the amount of extra damage you would want add to the cat's claw attack. Based on the cat's statblock, I would not recommend adding more than an additional 1 maybe 2 additional psychic damage on the claw attack, as would likely push the cat's offensive CR to 1/8(plus the cat's defensive CR is almost 1/8).--Blobby383b (talk) 15:20, 30 September 2018 (MDT)

Hey, I've been meaning to get a second opinion on this rework of the lore wizard I've been sitting on. You mind giving it a look? User:ConcealedLight/wizard —ConcealedLight (talk) 01:31, 4 October 2018 (MDT)
- Sure thing, I will give it a look through when I get the chance. With that said, is there anything in particular that you are looking for feedback on?--Blobby383b (talk) 14:51, 5 October 2018 (MDT)
- I'm not sure. I've been rather stumped on it for a while now. My intent was to create a better version of the lore wizard which is, as I'm sure you know, full of issues. The first area is what I think should probs be in a final version but the 6th level feature is an idea I'm unsure about. The 14th level feature is blank atm but I'm thinking maybe an expansion on the 6th level feature, maybe making it more efficient or maybe gaining access to some of the better casting options here rather then at 6th level. —ConcealedLight (talk) 18:54, 5 October 2018 (MDT)

Questions about Weapon Master
Hey, Blobby383b, i know you did massive rebalancing of Weapon Master (5e Class), so please share your opinion about my question here: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Talk:Weapon_Master_(5e_Class), thank you -- Nick_Vendel 14:40, 30 January 2019 (MST)
- GreenDragon changed Weapon Master, so my question is kinda answered. But i have another one specifically for you Blobby383b. To be clear, i'm making version of this class for Aurora Builder, while developer of app wants me to not adapt anything and just create exact copy of the current version from Wiki (which is understandable), but the problem i have is that Favored Weapon Feature can be interpreted both as you choose your specific weapon, like "this is my shortsword Bob, and i'm master with it", or as you choose weapon type, like in NWN1, which is based on 3.5E: "I'm master of the shortswords". So can you answer is it one specific weapon, or is it just weapon type? -- Nick_Vendel 07:23, 31 January 2019 (MST)
- oof no one replied to this. Should be specific weapon, like a shortsword. Type might be considered blades/swords, axes, maces, etc. This feat typically means a certain weapon. Hope that (late) answer helps. ~ BigShotFancyMan 10:02, 10 July 2019 (MDT)

- By "in affiliation with" do you mean something like X user helped with this page or something else? If it is the former, there is no need to add anything to the page itself, people can see who created the page and who helped with the page by checking the pages history(plus you are not allowed to add things like attribution to a homebrew page, see Help:Attribution Policy). Thanks For Your Help!
I incorporated your spell list into my Earthfeeler class. I really appreciate your help with it. Thank you so much! I will tell you if I ever need any other help and I hope you know that you can ask me if you ever need another pair of eyes. Not that you'd ever need any help, of course. :) Flamestarter (talk) 12:47, 24 September 2019 (MDT)Flamestarter

- Np, thanks for going over the few hundred other images and deleting them as well Red Leg Leo. If you ever need any help with maintenance tasks in the future, don't be afraid to ask, I am more than willing to help plus it makes those sort of things go by quicker when you have multiple people working on them. Help Appreciated (Equipment: Entropy's Vessel)
Hey I just wanted to drop in a thanks for the feedback on my (relatively) old weapon design in entropy's vessel, honestly i was almost never expecting to get ANYTHING on it at all, the weapon itself long forget and reincorporated into a different design. However, with the random email reminder about the note you put on it, i decided to give it an update with the criticism you left on it, why not give it another look if you have the time? --Hale's Own Troll (talk) 7:30 pm. September 29, 2019 (I Don't know how signatures work here)
Also, as an aside, what made you choose my weapon of all things? Not complaining, but just curious as it kind of just sat there for... (checks history) ...wow, just a week after the one year anniversary of it being made, and it comes back to life after all this time. --Hale's Own Troll (talk) 7:44 pm. September 29, 2019 (Attempting to just steal and edit a signature to see if it works.)
- Glad to provide a bit of feedback on how to improve that weapon in particular. Overall, I would say that there was no particular reason I chose to look at it, I just decided to look it through. Either way though, your recent edits to the weapon have made it much more usable(and probably fun), so I went ahead and made a number of wording and minor balance changes to spruce up the weapon. With that out of the way, the weapon should be pretty much done unless I accidently messed something up or you think of any other editions you want to add to the weapon.
- Also, to sign your signature, click the signature button above the edit box right next the italic button. --Blobby383b (talk) 18:15, 26 September 2019 (MDT)
- Thanks again, and yea, the formatting looks much nicer, and I admit I forgot that the wish spell should of been able to remove the curse. The original idea of this whole thing was the curse, as with my first real game of DnD, I chose to be a Wild magic sorcerer, but after a bit, I felt that wild magic was underused and under-powered compared to the draconic variant of sorcerer. So I decided to combine my vision for wild magic with a weapon that no sorcerer in their right mind (E.G. not me) would never use. Speaking of, It should give proficiency in mauls upon attunement or something, or at least proficiency in it while it's equipped, after all, what kind of sorcerer has proficiency in martial weapons?
- The curse is honestly the most fun part about the whole thing, can you imagine rolling a 1 on a stealth check and then also spontaneously bursting into flames via fireball, or a 1 on a intimidation check and instead of scaring the other party, you become scared of them for the next minute instead. The possibilities are both glorious and terrible, and I love it.
- Either way, thanks for the help with it all! --Hale's Own Troll (talk) 19:05, 26 September 2019 (MDT)
- Glad to help. I do hear that people tend to like the randomness of the Wild Magic sorcerer but overall, many people, me included, think that the subclass is a bit weak. So I understand why you wanted to create something that evoked the feeling of being a Wild magic sorc especially with that kind of random curse. See you around and good luck with your future brews.--Blobby383b (talk) 20:39, 26 September 2019 (MDT)
Thank You for fixing that

User Category?
Hey Blobby, thanks for the edit, but I don't understand what the User Category is (didn't even know that was there), and I don't understand your explanation in the edit description, what is the User Category used for, and what is it not used for? Thanks again. --Cosmos (talk) 06:16, 1 November 2019 (MDT)
- Hey there Cosmos, I will explain what the User category is used for as well as categories in general to the best of my ability. The User category is used to denote a homebrew page created by a user or anon on the wiki, usually in the (Main) userspace which doesn't have a title before its name(like User:, SRD:, Category:, etc.). In general, the User category should not be put on pages like the 5e SRD, Help:Portal pages, most other non-homebrew related pages, as well as user pages and talk pages as user/talk pages should generally avoid having any edition categories or other identifying categories(user, equipment, spell, class, ect.) to prevent the pages from being linked to from other places on the wiki.
- Besides all of that info, I will also go over categories in general. Pages on the wiki are put into lists on the wiki based on which types of categories the page has(5e, Race, Class, ect.). When a page is missing categories that it should have, it sometimes gets placed in the wrong place or even it becomes stranded and becomes a Orphaned Page which are pages that are not linked to anywhere on the wiki. Likewise, when a page has categories it shouldn't, the page might appear in other lists that it is not supposed to be in depending on what category was added.
- There is a few other things about categories like you shouldn't create a category that denotes something is your personal brew, but overall my explanation should cover everything you would normally need to know about categories even if it is a bit wordy.--Blobby383b (talk) 10:06, 1 November 2019 (MDT)
- No problem, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:08, 3 November 2019 (MST)
Fearmonger Beast
Hey, Blobby! Is it ok if I ask for a favor? I just want you to take a look at my new monstrosity, the Fearmonger Beast, and help balance it just a little. I don't know if that means changing the Challenge Rating or the damage on it, but that would much appreciated. Also, did you see my Earthfeeler class? I used your spell list like I said I would. :) Do you want to look over it or something? If not, that's ok too. Flamestarter (talk) 19:12, 3 November 2019 (MST)Flamestarter
- Hey flamestarter, yeah I can give your new monster a look over when I get the chance, hopefully in the next couple of days. As for the earthfeeler class, at the moment, I am too busy to get involved in working on or reviewing a class, but I will give you a holler if I am interested later.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:46, 3 November 2019 (MST)

Request for Adminship
You've been an active and prolific contributor here for close to two and a half years, and you've been consistently helpful to other users who are having issues with the site. I feel the position of an administrator would suit you well. Would you like me to nominate you? — Geodude (talk | contribs | email) . . 09:48, 19 January 2020 (MST)
- Thanks for the compliments. I feel like I am ready to take on the responsibility of becoming an admin, so you can nominate me for the position.--Blobby383b (talk) 16:32, 19 January 2020 (MST)
- FINALLY! Red Leg Leo (talk) 16:59, 19 January 2020 (MST)
- Yeah, I planned to try my hand at becoming an admin in February this year, so this is just a bit earlier than what I planned for.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:17, 19 January 2020 (MST)
- Welcome to Adminship. You are now part of "The Face" of D&D Wiki. You have more burden on yourself now that you are an admin because users will be looking at you for editing help, knowledge about pages, etc. Make sure to familiarize yourself with Meta Pages to help address this burden. I recommend you take a look at Special:ListGroupRights if you have not already. Some of the new feature's uses follow: You can now delete pages, protect pages, rollback edits, block users and IP's, edit every page, patrol edits, and do a couple more minor things.
- Deleting pages is normally done through Category:Candidates for Deletion. Anything with a good reason to be deleted on that page should be deleted. Other times pages should be deleted is in the case of vandalism, spam, or even when someone makes a page and after a few edits they either blank the page or replace it with something like "Please delete this". If this page consisted of close to just the preload it is fine to just delete it.
- Protecting pages has quite a few different times when it should be used. Pages should be protected according to the author's wishes (with Template:Locked Page added to the top of the page in question), in case of conflict (with Template:Temp Locked Page added to the top of the page in question), in case of OGC published materials (with Template:OGL Top added to the top of the page in question and Template:OGL Bottom added to the bottom), or finally if the page is a vital part of D&D Wiki's organization. Also, if it deals with D&D Wiki's organization the page needs to be protected. For Example 3.5e Homebrew is protected from all non-sysop edits. No template needs to be added to pages if they are part of D&D Wiki's organization (even though some do exist like Template:Admin Locked Page)
- Blocking a user or IP should be used with respect to policy. To block someone just click "block" (found on Recent Changes, the diff in question, the userpage, etc) and fill out the corresponding form. For a typical vandalism attack I normally block the user for two weeks. Certain things demand a longer block and others a shorter. No standards have been set for block lengths so use your best judgment.
- Editing every page on D&D Wiki mostly means you can now edit the 5e SRD, 3.5e SRD and the MSRD. Feel free to edit them if inaccuracies are found. If interested further please look at their To-Do lists; I am sure your help will be appreciated.
- Now that you are an admin I would say more burden is placed on you, but I really hope you enjoy being an admin and I hope you decide to stay around on D&D Wiki for a while more to come. Welcome to Adminship. Again, you're now part of "The Face" of D&D Wiki. --Green Dragon (talk) 00:37, 28 January 2020 (MST)

Image Sources
Huge thanks and much appreciation for knocking out those image sources! I never thought I'd seen the day when formatting issues was sub 50 pages! Most of my progress on that front has stalled or slowed significantly so: thank you, thank you, Thank You! Coaldstone (talk) 18:31, 26 January 2020 (MST)
- No problem, you have made huge strides fixing many of the smaller issues around the wiki so finding a few image sources isn't too big of an issue. For future reference, if you ever encounter any other pages that are missing images sources, you can do a reverse image search by looking for similar images through google or using one of the many reverse image search sites to try and find a source and you should be good most of the time. Either way, try to avoid sites that don't credit the original artist(like Pinterest) as they just re-host images without attribution to the original creators. Dandwiki also has links to a few of the more credible sites found here in addition to any others you know of. If things don't work though, you can also ask for help on the wiki or through discord and I or someone else should be able to help. This is getting too long now through, so gl with finishing up your maintenance tasks.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:05, 26 January 2020 (MST)
Dialga
Hey, Blobby, I was wondering if you could take a look at my Dialga creature. Keep in mind, it's supposed to be like, wicked strong, so... Also, do you think pitting one of those and a group of maybe 10th-15th level players against a couple tarasques is too much? --Flamestarter (talk) 18:58, 26 January 2020 (MST)
- Yeah, I should be able to take a look at the creature within the next day or so. As for the number of tarrasques, I wouldn't go over 2 unless the party is absolutely flooded with legendary and better magical items, has a great party composition, and your party is made up of 6+ pcs. Even then though, 2 tarrasques will be a very tough fight versus the Dialga and the party.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:21, 26 January 2020 (MST)

Drawing from various other sources of fiction as well as your own creativity can allow you to create a ton of interesting things in D&D. I hope your creativity will last for 100's of more pages and gl and hf making more stuff.--Blobby383b (talk) 18:07, 2 February 2020 (MST)

Trigger Actions
So, I was told on my Psych Warrior class that I needed more "trigger actions" on my features and abilities, but I have no idea what that means. I know this sounds like a newbie which... I guess I still am, but can you explain it to me? --Flamestarter (talk) 19:06, 11 February 2020 (MST)
- "Triggers" are needed for features that can be used as a reaction or else when exactly a reaction based feature can be used is confusing. Such features would have a "trigger" for activating them such as "Whenever you are damaged, you can use your reaction to", "Whenever a creature moves within 5 feet of you", ect.--Blobby383b (talk) 07:40, 12 February 2020 (MST)
Ring of Solomon
I have taken on the Ring of Solomon and I made several edits that I believe will help with the balancing, but I would love it if you could take a look at it and see how I did. Thank you! --Flamestarter (talk) 14:28, 12 March 2020 (MDT)
- From a glance, your edit helped a few things and made a few other things confusing such as adding or to a number of places without explaining how the properties are chosen. Overall, the item just needed to have the effects of fewer other rings and have the too powerful properties removed. Either way though, I have given the item another look through and tweaked a bunch of the item's properties to have it better fall in line of the power level of an artifact.--Blobby383b (talk) 11:26, 13 March 2020 (MDT)
- Also, looking at your edit, there possibly was a way to better balance the item by adding "or" in a few places. While adding "or" to the choice of AC bonus versus resistance to a few damage types as well as the list of magical rings may have helped balance the item, there was no clear way to explain how these random properties are chosen. Because of this, items which have random chosen properties need an explanation of how the random effects are chosen and would really need a roll-able table that would decide the item's properties after a certain duration(for example, at dawn the artifact could gain the benefits of a random ring until the next dawn) or the random roll-able table could have only needed to be rolled once to decide the item's properties forever. Although not exactly in the same vein, you can see how this one piece of equipment I worked on, the fun gun, uses a random table to decide the item's effect when fired.--Blobby383b (talk) 11:46, 13 March 2020 (MDT)

Grand Tower Shield: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Grand_Tower_Shield_(5e_Equipment)
- Taking a look at the changes to those pages, it does not seem the core issues of those pages not being mechanically independent and not being unique pieces of armor with a niche have been addressed. Equipment pages and class pages should be entirely independent of one another and judged on their own merit(and this issue seems to have caused some confusion, so I am sorry for that). The Equipment section of The Class Design Guide's Class Do's and Dont's section clearly outlines many of the issues of having class mechanics intertwined with equipment pages and I would recommend that you go check it out. I will go and reset the deletion timer on the small shield since it wasn't entirely clear to you that the item had to be reworked to be mechanically unique to have the delete template removed, but hopefully now you have a better idea of what exactly needs to be done to fix those pages.--Blobby383b (talk) 01:27, 21 March 2020 (MDT)
- the only unique thing i can think of is to add the shielder's feature of coverage to each shield, and even then this does not cover every shield.--AriaVehemente (talk) 02:03, 21 March 2020 (MDT)
- There are several things you can do to make a shield unique besides just porting over the Cover to most of them, especially since just adding a +2 bonus AC/Dex(1/2 cover) to a shield is extremely good/gamebreaking in many instances without some mitigating factors. Besides that though, for the small shield, you can alter the cost and weight to be different than the regular shield (armor) then you go and add a small unique property to it. For all the shields really, a unique property would help tremendously in differentiating a specific shield from its counterparts. Some of the properties could include a bash, 1/2 cover, a minor deflection property that is used as a reaction, a property where when not grappled you can interpose the shield between you and a creature went it attempts to shove you giving you advantage on Strength (Athletics) check to resist the shove, and many other possibilities.--Blobby383b (talk) 02:48, 21 March 2020 (MDT)
- Added in stat tables based on PC size, gave each shield a movement feat, gave Aspis a Damage Feat --AriaVehemente (talk) 10:55, 21 March 2020 (MDT)
- the only unique thing i can think of is to add the shielder's feature of coverage to each shield, and even then this does not cover every shield.--AriaVehemente (talk) 02:03, 21 March 2020 (MDT)
Problematic User
Hey, Blobby. I hate to ask this kind of thing, but could you give the user DESUVOLT9000 a warning? He has deliberately refused to participate in discussion regarding Titanshifter (5e Class) and the unbalancing edits he's made time and again despite multiple attempts to reach out to him. Sorry for bothering you, but he is being problematic. --Ref3rence (talk) 19:35, 9 May 2020 (MDT)
- I will take a look at the situation and determine whether or not to give the user a warning or what else needs to be done. Regardless, thank you for making me aware of the issue.--Blobby383b (talk) 20:54, 9 May 2020 (MDT)

Meters
Speaking of meters, I think I broke the Musicus Meter.

I found several ways to make a powerful race by manipulating the rules a little. --Flamestarter (talk) 12:01, 18 May 2020 (MDT)
- Looking at the race, for the most part, nothing appears to be too powerful besides the resistance to bludgeoning damage. In general, no race should have resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage as that trait is far too powerful for a race to have. Perhaps the resistance to bludgeoning damage could be replaced with a trait that is used as a reaction to reduces damage from an attack that deals bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage? Similar to how the goliath's Stone’s Endurance trait works except with limited damage types which you can reduce.--Blobby383b (talk) 12:31, 18 May 2020 (MDT)
- No, that's kinda the... I can change it to make it more legit, but it's kinda the point, that these point-based meter rules are ridiculous. Of course, if that's the only problem you found with it, maybe they're actually... Hmm... --Flamestarter (talk) 12:59, 18 May 2020 (MDT)
- I am in concurrence with Blobby on the race. Trance, unarmed strikes and rock-like appearance is kinda meh and situational. The only other thing worrying than the resistance-you-never-give is the stoneskin, but it is lower than the tortle's base AC. The +4 ASI is a bit unwarranted in my opinion but that's about it.--Yanied (talk) 13:09, 18 May 2020 (MDT)

User changing my variant class
Hi there, i don't really know if i am doing this well, i am new about posting messages, and my english it's not the best but i will try.
I have a problem with some users. They are editing the variant i made of an existing class, and i would like to know if i can do sommething about it.
The class variant is this: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Draconic_Descendant,_2nd_Variant_(5e_Class)
I would like to know if we can protect the variant class so this doesn't happen again. Thanks for reading and sorry again for my english. --Segis ) 03:55, 05 June 2020 (GMT+2)
- Homebrew pages on the wiki can be temporarily admin locked if there is an edit war with users continually reverting each other's edits, but homebrew pages should not be permanently admin locked if this situation arises. As the draconic descendant class has not devolved into an edit war, I do not believe it is necessary to temporarily admin locked the page.
- To permanently lock a homebrew page so only admins can edit it, the homebrew page in question should be completed and not need any further edits. As such, if you still want the class locked, once the page has been completed, I can go ahead and admin lock the page.
- As it currently stands though, the class has a bunch of grammar problems that needs to be fixed among other issues that need to be addressed before the class is considered completed and can be locked so users can not edit it. I am more than happy to provide feedback on what could be done to improve the page on the class's talk page and/or help by editing the class itself. Either way, good luck finishing up the class.--Blobby383b (talk) 09:32, 5 June 2020 (MDT)
- First of all, thanks for reading my message :) and sorry for don't answer faster, but I was busy.
- I have made some changes, but I would love to read your feedback and what can I do to improve. I would like to know which other issues do you mean, and how could I fix them. I will try to fix all the grammar problems soon. --Segis ) 01:10, 07 June 2020 (GMT+2)
- Np, I am happy to help answer others' questions. I will take a closer look at the class and provide some feedback on improvements and other things that I believe can be improved with the class. Sorry if I have been a little late to responding too.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:13, 8 June 2020 (MDT)
- Hi, thanks for all the feedback you provided. I am changing some stuff about the class. As you said, I changed all the "At level X" and changed it for "At X level". Things like "free action" and "light load" don't exist anymore and I am using the {{5a|str/dex/con/int/wis/cha}} as you said. I have changed the damage output, dealing less damage at higher levels, and the breath weapon damage now scales in damage dice at 5th, 9th, 13th, 17th, and 20th level.
- The draconic vitality feature has been changed to Draconic empowered strikes, which makes their unarmed strikes magical. Also, I thought to change the draconic skin feature to add the Draconic Tail feature:
- Starting at 9th level, you can use your tail to perform a disabling maneuver. As a bonus action, you can attempt to knock a Medium size creature or smaller prone, so long as they are within 5 feet of you and aligned appropriately. The target of this feature must make either a Strength or Dexterity saving throw(their choice), with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier. A creature falls prone on a failed save and remains standing on a successful one. On a failed save, you can use your Draconic fangs as a bonus action against the target prone. If your target is in front of you, you must turn your back to them to use this feature. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Strength or dexterity mod. You regain all uses of this feature when you finish a short or long rest.
- I have changed the unarmored defense, so now works with dexterity and charisma. Draconic fear now is called draconic frightful presence, and I used what you wrote, but I have changed it a little bit. Draconian Senses now only gives advantage on perception checks relying on smell, taste, and hearing. I am working in Draconic Body and draconic soul, well... actually working in many features, and now the draconic fangs can be used with dexterity.
- If you don't mind, could you give me some more feedback when I finish these changes? I would love to read what you think about the changes I am doing. Also, I would like to know if you think i should remove the "homebrew" draconic ancestry (steel, mercury, etc), or maybe leave them. Either way, thanks again for all the feedback you made. --Segis ) 00:41, 12 June 2020 (GMT+2)
- I would be happy to give more feedback on the class again at a later time when you have finished up making changes to the class. I also feel that the homebrew draconic ancestries are fine, just perhaps try and match the homebrew dragon types found at Dragons (5e Creature) to the homebrew draconic ancestry found on the class.--Blobby383b (talk) 12:43, 12 June 2020 (MDT)
Changelings, 2nd Variant (5e Race)
We need to talk about your brief edit, the reason I named it MLP Variant is because it's not an varient on the base game changeling, it's completely based on the My Little Pony fandom, and thus 2nd Varient makes it out to be an alternative to the SRD:Changeling when they are built as a separate species.
Another issue is I don't know why but the 2nd variant isnt in the derivative works Race page, and can I have help in fixing that—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dr Jack Bright (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- Variant pages on the wiki either stand on their own in terms of features/lore/ect. or are reworked versions of the original page/idea, and it seems your race falls into the first category. The change in name is just a change in the page's naming scheme and doesn't take away from the fact that the race is unique and different than a normal changeling, it just uses the same race name. For example, just by taking a cursory glance at the page, one can see that the race is not really related to typical changelings.
- As for the race not appearing on the derivative works Race page, it sometimes takes a bit of time for the list to update, but it shouldn't take too long as shown by the fact that the recently created Dark One, Variant (5e Race) page is already on the list.--Blobby383b (talk) 07:14, 16 June 2020 (MDT)
Balancing Historical Firearms
Hello, if possible, I’d like you to help me balance Trixie’s Automaton, as some aspects may be too overpowered or unbalanced, afterwards, I would also like a CR and experience value placed upon it. Nothing much, I’m just not very good at balancing enemies. --Kanon (talk) 14:11, 25 June 2020 (MDT)
- I can give my opinion on the feature options available and general design of the features for Trixie's Automaton, but really it is hard to balance a creature before you have a target power level/CR in mind. At least for me, I look at the hit points, damage, ect. and determine a CR then if I want to change the CR I change said numbers, adjust other features, ect. With this in mind, do you have a target power level that you want Trixie's Automaton to be for me to work with?--Blobby383b (talk) 18:25, 26 June 2020 (MDT)
- Really I just want to know if any of the abilities are gamebreaking, it’s supposed to be pretty high, I was aiming for 20,000 exp because it’s so rare, but that is a CR of 18, and I’m not quite sure I want it that high. I guess let’s go for 16 DC, do you think that it is over or underpowered for that CR? I don’t want to change it to much though, anything within the range of DC 14 - 18 is acceptable. --Kanon 18:34, 26 June 2020 (MDT)
Moving a Class
this is zombiedrop why the hell do u keep changing the names of the homebrew class i make im honestly getting sick of it ever week i have to go looking for my class can u leave it the fuck alone —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zombiedrop (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- Based on the history of the page, I had to move the page twice because it was improperly named, both times the page name had an incorrect identifier (3.5 class) instead of (3.5e Class). I did mess up the name the first time, and did not capitalize the C in class, but regardless, you are just being rude.--Blobby383b (talk) 11:00, 4 November 2020 (MST)
- As to why I moved the page, all pages on the wiki of a certain type contain a specific identifier, which in this case was (3.5e Class), but could have also been (5e Class), (3.5e Equipment), or something else (you can find more info here). By renaming the page I was trying to fix said identifier why also trying trying to keep the page name simple and not include extraneous info (like Dex).--Blobby383b (talk) 11:15, 4 November 2020 (MST)
- Hi Zombiedrop; I'm another admin and what Blobby says above is correct. It is long-standing consensus that page titles must adhere to a specific format. A neat idea for a subclass, along with some other things
Hi! So I've got an idea for a new subclass, but I don't know where to start. The class would be based on the constellation witch, Aro, from the witch and bull webcomic (good example here: https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/the-witch-and-the-bull/ep-4-draco/viewer?title_no=1892&episode_no=4), but I don't know where to start with it.
Also, is there some good, balanced races I can borrow for my own dnd world? And would you mind taking a look at this and helping me? https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Hydean_(5e_Race)
I know this is a lot, but might as well have only one section made, not twenty! Bowler1234 (talk) 17:59, 18 November 2020 (MST)
- Hey there Bowler1234 and thanks for reaching out to me. Building classes/subclasses is often a challenging but rewarding task, so I understand not knowing where to start. First, I would highly recommend you read through the relevant 1st party subclasses for whatever class you are considering creating the subclass for as it should help you get a better understanding of the relative balance and general design behind what features are gained in the subclasses for those classes. If you are not sure what class to use(looking at the source material, druid, sorcerer, or wizard would work thematically, but I think the druid class chassis might work the best) I would recommend reading through multiple classes's subclasses to better familiarize yourself with with what subclasses for each of the classes do. After that, you should outline a theme you want for the subclass and brainstorm several ideas for features for the subclass. Alternatively, you can focus on building on a singular feature and work to fill out the subclass from there. In the case of using a singular feature, you can perhaps use the summoning of the constellation creatures of sorts as a place to start.
- As for races you can check out, I would recommend any of the featured article races found here. Besides that, you can really choose to add almost any of the races on the 5e Races page as the majority of them are balanced or close to it, but personally I would recommend the demigod and nocturne races as I find them both very interesting.
- Finally, I will go ahead and give you some feedback on the Hydean race's talk page soon.--Blobby383b (talk) 18:04, 19 November 2020 (MST)
- Hey Blobby, I think I got the subclass going, I made it a druid subclass with warlock-esq parts, here's the link to it: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Druid,_circle_of_Constellations_(5e_Subclass)
- I also have a list of races that I think would work, I just have to trim them down a bit to a handful (seriously, the sheer number of tabs I have open might make my computer commit not alive! Haha.), here's a link to the world, all of the races listed can be used or not used, but I want to trim the number down a bit if possible. Bowler1234 (talk) 09:55, 20 November 2020 (MST)
- (Edit: Here's the link, sorry about that! https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Heavenfall_(5e_Campaign_Setting) Bowler1234 (talk) 10:23, 20 November 2020 (MST))
- Hey again Bowler1234, from the looks of things it is a good start on the subclass, but you still have a way to go. It seems like you are lacking feature names and the formatting of the subclass is off. I would recommend looking at another druid or other subclasses in general for how to fit some of those issues, with Circle of Iron (5e Subclass) being one such example. As for the 2nd level feature, I would recommend using much of the wording on the Circle of Wildfire druid as they have a feature that can summon a creature. For the celestial beings, there are two ways to do their statblocks. You can create a new section( using ===Celestial Beings=== below the features) and have all the statblocks on the subclass itself. While this is a messy way of going about adding the statblocks, it does benefit from the fact that you can have them scale with your druid level. Besides that option, you can create independent pages for each constellation creature summoned via 5e Creatures and just link to said creatures from the subclass. If you end up going for statblocks on the subclass page itself, you should look to mimic the power level of the official Circle of Wildfire druid's summon. Meanwhile, if you go the independent pages route, p. 273 of the Dungeon Master's Guide has a very helpful section on creating creatures.
- As for the races, you could always end up using all of them and just make some of them much rarer. Or you can trim down the races a bit by removing the ones that you don't think would fit into the work. Or you could start with fewer races, and expand it later when you are more comfortable. Or even something else, find what works for you.--Blobby383b (talk) 10:14, 22 November 2020 (MST)
- Hi there Blobby, I think I got the features formatted correctly, and I want to keep the creatures on the page. Is there anyway I can put a block around each statblock? I'm still new to the program you guys use here. Will you also help me balance the creatures so that they go up in power pretty well? I don't want the creatures themselves to change, but the ones you get at higher levels should be just slightly better than the ones you get at level 2, right? But the ones at level 2 should still be useful later (Corvis could be a messenger, Picses could be a navigational tool for boats, and so on)
- I'll get back to you on the races when I trim them down, I'll cut the ones that just don't fit. Maybe six or seven races is enough, plus whatever published races I wish to add. Bowler1234 (talk) 10:54, 22 November 2020 (MST)
- It looks like the formatting has been fixed so good job on that. I have also gone ahead and added two statblocks to the subclass and used collapsible tables as well so don't take up to much room. As for the creatures going up in power as you level, that can be done by scaling certain things(AC, damage done on hit, ect.) with your proficiency bonus or through various other ways. I can also help you balance the creatures, though really by making most of the statblocks similar to the summon on the official Circle of Wildfire druid, they should be balanced. Because of this and because you could improve the wording of the features on your subclass through it, I really can't emphasize enough how much looking at the subclass will help.
- Besides that, the finished races you have listed are balanced and look to be good. That said, from a new DM/player perspective, I would try and avoid flying races, though the 2 races you have that do have flying options look to be better than a lot of other flying races as they don't seem to be too powerful and have more limited flight than normal.--Blobby383b (talk) 12:15, 22 November 2020 (MST)
- I've never heard of the Circle of Wildfire. Is that in Tasha's Cauldron? I'll get to work on the statblocks when I have a moment. I also picked a couple flying races because my world is a bunch of floating islands, so flying races would be some of the more dominant ones (I might also throw in Aarakockras, they're cool when people don't min-max them.) I'll work on how rare each race is in my world. Bowler1234 (talk) 12:33, 22 November 2020 (MST)

- Yes it is in Tasha's Cauldron, though the playtest version in Unearthed Arcana has been out for some time. If you plan the world to have floating islands, than it makes sense to include a bunch of flying races. You have reminded me though, the wiki does have a pretty extensive campaign setting on floating islands, Orizon (5e Campaign Setting). I am not sure whether the campaign setting has the same concept you want for yours, but at the very least you could draw some inspiration from it.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:13, 22 November 2020 (MST)
- I did see Orizon a bit, but mine will be more post-apocalyptic sort of. After a large cataclysm, there's only a limited number of islands for the nations to have control over. There'll be less exploration than what I've seen of Orizon, and more picking sides and making decisions on what factions to join. I'll also go through the UA real quick and fix my subclass. Bowler1234 (talk) 13:36, 22 November 2020 (MST)
- Can you help me with the formatting for a bit? I have the ideas, but I just can't get the hang of the formatting part. Bowler1234 (talk) 10:47, 29 November 2020 (MST)
- Can you give me ideas on what the celestial beasts should do? I've kinda hit a creative block. Bowler1234 (talk) 18:52, 13 December 2020 (MST)
- The celestial beasts could do a bunch of different things. Overall, I believe each one should at least as some sort of unique feature. There could be a tanky one that gains temporary hit points at the start of its turn. There could be one that has a high damage attack that can be used once then it deals much lower damage on subsequent rounds. There could be one that focuses on movement and it can take the dash or disengage action as a bonus action. You could give another one several different great attacks that have to be recharged. Others could have ranged attacks, cast certain cantrips, and have differing skill and tool proficiencies. Besides all of those things, you could base the creatures off of the features gained by various misc. beasts.--Blobby383b (talk) 16:59, 26 December 2020 (MST)

Upsetting Article
Hello Blobby383b,
I am writing you concerning the following article: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Lizardfolk_Biology_(Paludia_Supplement)
It was brought to my attention after one of my fellow players was looking for information regarding her race in DnD, she had stumbled onto this article believing it to be the official class. We’ve all made this mistake at least once, we’re not concerned with her not recognizing this wiki’s purpose. Instead we (her entire DnD group) were appalled with the content of this page. This race is written with an inherent sexist bias that is unrealistic and harmful. It isn’t super clear on your Warning Policy page if this sort of speech is accepted.
Here are a few of the upsetting ideals written into this race:
“Hence, the lizardfolk have inferior endurance, especially the females, who have even more serious problems metabolizing lactic acid. In a long fight, a lizardfolk will tire faster than a human and will probably retreat if the fight isn't won in a couple of minutes.”
“An average male requires an average of 8 hours of sleep, while a female requires an average of 10 hours of sleep, although many females prefer to sleep for 12 hours.”
"Without exception, within the same species, male lizardfolk are larger, heavier, stronger, faster, more durable, more resistant to pain, fatigue and sickness, and less easily tired than female lizardfolk. Additionally, male lizardfolk have higher average intelligence and are wiser than female lizardfolk. This is due to the need for the males to do the hunting and fighting for the tribe. Additionally, male lizardfolk naturally live longer than females, but the habits of war and violence tend to equalize their lifespans with the females. In no case does a female lizardfolk ever control a tribe, clan, or village; the purpose of the female lizardfolk consorts is to make heirs, not to rule. If a chief were to die and a daughter or wife was his only relative, then the strongest males would fight to see which one of them was the strongest, and the winner would become the new chief.
It should be obvious that male lizardfolk are excellent front line soldiers. With more strength and constitution than an average human, they ought to make great fighters. At home, they are excellent hunters and fishers, and can apply their hunting skills to aid whatever party of adventurers they may join. The males can also make skilled rangers.
Female lizardfolk are often unable to take care of themselves, as they aren't very good at competing with males for hunting or fishing grounds; the very few that have ever tried have been outclassed in every way. As a result, they have to find a mate or else depend on male relatives. In isolation, a female lizardfolk actually would be able to do some hunting or fishing, but even the least competition from a male will be enough to see her outdone. Female lizardfolk are more flexible than their male counterparts, but not nearly so much so that they would get any bonus to dexterity because of it.
For game purposes, to get the stats of a female lizardfolk, first calculate the stats normally for the male, and then factor in the following:
-4 strength, -4 constitution, -2 intelligence, -2 wisdom. Female lizardfolk also only have +2 natural armor instead of the male +5 natural armor (in common lizardfolk, but in no case do females have more than, or as much natural armor as the males, no matter the species.) Females can only hold their breath for only three times its constitution score before drowning (instead of 4X for the male.) Females by necessity, are supposed to lay eggs and raise children, thus ensuring the continued survival of the race. Biologically, this necessitates certain physiological adjustments that may impede the females from combat, but in no way reduce their value to the race; in fact, their value actually increases in some ways because they can lay eggs. Lizardfolk females are acutely aware of this, and very few females will live their lives without reproducing.
In comparison to a human, a typical female lizardfolk has -2 strength, constitution, wisdom, and -4 intelligence (minimum of 3). In an adventuring party, this can prove to be quite a problem. Being neither good at combat nor skilled in magic, the female lizardfolk would at first glance appear to be a liability for any party. However, this weakness can be turned into a strength... of a sort. Having little combat proficiency frees the female lizardfolk PCs from having to develop such skills, enabling them to class as bards and rogues and develop other skills. With little need to give them fighting skills, one can develop a female character's non-combat skills, and use them to the party's advantage. Female Paludian lizardfolk bards receive a +2 charisma bonus upon entering that class and lose it when leaving it. This reflects the exotic, eye-catching nature of the females; this is only able to be exploited by a class which requires the female to be looked at and paid attention to. For a female fighter or paladin, appearance and grace matter less, and the rest of the world knows it, so only the bard would logically receive a bonus for being eye-catching in a performance. Skills for the female lizardfolk that are worth focusing on include Balance, Diplomacy, Disguise, Escape Artist, Gather information, Move Silently,Open Lock, Perform, and Sleight of hand. Chances are, one can easily fit an exotic, alluring female lizardfolk into a party, especially if one's party needs someone agile and charismatic (while there is no particular bonus for dexterity, it ought to be focused on in order to make the PC worthwhile.) These can be good PCs because they can excel in certain niche roles that a party might need from time to time, such as having to send someone to balance on a narrow plank in order to get an item, or having to sneak through a dark room.
During the prime mating season (spring, roughly 1/4 of the year), females receive a special +4 modifier to certain charisma checks to represent the release of pheromones and their greater desire to mate (though females always wish to mate more than the males do, but even more so during mating season), but it wears off after the season ends. In the wider world, female lizardfolk are considered to be rare, exotic and eye-catching, whereas the ferocious males simply intimidate and frighten others. Hence, the outside observer can see a dichotomy between the two roles of the lizardfolk sexes; male strength vs female exoticness.
There is one native Paludian class which allows female lizardfolk to circumvent some of their disadvantages, that of the Hierodule, a divine casting class with no offensive capability. The education required for this class enables the females to avoid the -2 intelligence and -2 wisdom penalty, and this will apply only for the female if her first class is that of Heirodule. For no other class does the training for being a Heirodule apply, so if the female should switch classes, the penalties to intelligence and wisdom apply."
“Like all other species of lizardfolk, the males are much heavier, larger, stronger, and more durable in every way than the females, who only weigh between 90-120 pounds (on average), are at least a foot shorter, are nowhere near as strong, and have softer skin, weaker bones, and less resistance to pain, fatigue, and injury. The females also have a lesser capacity for logic and reason, being creatures of hormones, feelings, and passions. The common lizardfolk are the most numerous type of in Paludia, forming a plurality of the entire lizardfolk population in Paludia.”
I understand the desire to create races that mimic animals and cultures but no animal puts this strong of a disadvantage on all females. This article appears to be written with a ridiculous amount of harmful language and ideals towards females. It explicitly states that women of this race are useless for all things other than mating, it frequently uses the problematic work “exotic” and only gives women any use if they are used as a sex object as a bard and any advantage they get from that goes away if they leave the party. I’m not sure if the class started this way or was added later. Regardless, it seems inappropriate to have an article like this for a game that should be about inclusion and acceptance.
I am posting this for all of the moderators so the article can be reviewed. I understand if this isn’t found to be against your community guidelines but please do consider the harm this type of article might impose on someone who might be quick to make parallels with human females or young females who might believe this about themselves.

Class Template Tags
I've noticed that the new class template does not seem to have the word Tag attached to a class category. I was hoping to make a parallel system to the race tag system. Do you know who manages the class template? Arquebus (talk) 15:51, 21 December 2020 (MST)
- From the looks of things, all the categories that need to include tag in there name do on the 5e Class Preload page. Either way, the page is unlocked currently so if you see an error you can fix it.--Blobby383b (talk) 16:01, 26 December 2020 (MST)
Ignoring Repeated Fields in DPLs
I doubt this is possible, but figured I'd ask anyway. In the campaign setting I have been working on lately, certain creatures have multiple stat blocks per page, which is necessary due to the ruleset the setting operates in. The issue this causes is that, since creatures are listed by DPL to simplify adding, they display multiple results for CR. Would it be possible in any way to make a DPL only display the first result from top-to-bottom of a page for any/all format parameters? --Ref3rence (talk) 16:43, 24 December 2020 (MST)
- I do not know of a way for dpls to display a single parameter when there are multiple things it is trying to call from the page with the same name. Currently, I see two solutions to this problem. The first option would be to create a custom template with a different name that acts the same way as the 5e creature template and use that template for all creatures you don't want listed. That way, when a dpl calls for say something in the 5e creature template it only shows the one you want it to show. Another option is to go ahead and replace dpls with custom tables. Although not optimal, that way you can guarantee what the table looks like in exchange for it not updating atomically. Either way, I wish you good luck and if you need further assistance, feel free to check back in with me. --Blobby383b (talk) 15:40, 26 December 2020 (MST)
simple question
my deity i created was deleted and it said it was deleted by you so i'd like to know why it was deleted eh your probably gonna ignore this and if you dont you wont probably remember it (on the deity scarvon) -- Cjscorpion
- The page wasn't deleted, it's right here. --Ref3rence (talk) 11:58, 2 January 2021 (MST)
- Yep, the page has been moved since pages on the wiki need an identifier on the end to signify the edition and type of page. If your interested, you can find more info here. Regardless, in the future the old page link shows where pages are moved to. Besides that, you can create new talk page sections by clicking the plus tab next to edit when you are on talk pages.
- Also, thanks for making their message a new section and fixing the deleted talk page section Ref3rence.--Blobby383b (talk) 00:11, 3 January 2021 (MST)
Help with a race
I have an idea for a group of desert wanderers called the Asera, and one of the traits is called Wanderlust. Any ideas of what it could do? Bowler1234 (talk) 12:37, 27 February 2021 (MST)
- I do have a few thoughts, so feel free to pick out any of them or go with something else. The first idea would be to have the feature give you a bonus to survival checks made about terrain. For example, something like "Whenever you make a Wisdom (Survival) check made to determine something about natural terrains such as forests, you are considered proficient in the Survival skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus." could work. Besides that, the trait could be focused on providing extra/special movement for a short period of time. Alternatively, you could also flavor the race/trait to emphasize the fact the they are a race of travelers and pick up skills as they travel, so doing something like giving them proficiency in one of a selection of tools(or a skill + tool combo) could also work. Regardless of what you go with, best of luck with the race.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:47, 28 February 2021 (MST)
- Thanks! My current one is very weak, and I think I'll do the terrain one and that every couple of levels they gain a new proficiency or tool. Bowler1234 (talk) 13:53, 28 February 2021 (MST)
- So, here's the current build: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Asera_(5e_Race) Would you say it's balanced? Bowler1234 (talk) 18:26, 28 February 2021 (MST)
- The Love of Learning trait is too powerful, but once that trait is changed the race should be balanced. I have also gone ahead and made a number of wording fixes and left a message on the race's talk page detailing some more info on how to change the Love or Learning trait as well as some other things. If needed, when making traits for races, you can always try to look back on 1st party material for how they word their traits, and other misc. things like race names not being capitalized. The tiefling for example has the Infernal Legacy trait which while not identical, is quite similar to the asera's Innate Spellcasting trait.--Blobby383b (talk) 15:35, 1 March 2021 (MST)
