Subrosian
Physiology
An adult subrosian stands at a height of only 3 feet on average. Its body is almost entirely black, so much so a naked subrosian could appear as a silhouette. Its facial features are subdued and small, save for its eyes—a subrosian has massive eyes compared to its face, which faintly glow a pale off-white color, and are devoid of pupils.
Aside from their unusual appearance, subrosians are known for their extreme climate adaptions. To them, a bath of magma is pleasantly warm, and any light more than a faint glow is unnecessary. The few subrosians who have ventured elsewhere tend to find the climate uncomfortably cold, and sunlight to be almost distractingly bright.
Subrosia
Subrosians are most remarkable for the extreme environment to which they have adapted. Subrosians hail far beneath the surface of the world, where they live in massive hollowed-out caves amid seas of molten rock. The subterranean "continents" which float on these seas of magma are collectively referred to as Subrosia, and are home to very sparse creatures aside from subrosians themselves and a few elementals.
In subrosia, raw ore is used as currency—with different types of ore having different weight by value. Because subrosia is so far from the surface world and such an extreme climate, intermingling with subrosians and "surface-dwellers" is relatively rare. Regardless, subrosians maintain relatively good relations with the few surface-dwellers they meet—in large part because subrosians can yield valuable ores for interesting curiosities from the surface.
Subrosian is the most used language in Subrosia, but many subrosians have picked up Common as a second tongue.
Subrosians are known to almost always wear thick hooded robes or other concealing clothing. This is in part because they innately prefer to hide or otherwise guise themselves, in a manner as natural to them as wearing tunics is to hylians. The thick clothing is worn also in part because subrosians are frequently cold; almost any environment feels frigid compared to the subterranean magma rivers to which they are accustomed.
