Psychic is a damage type.

  • Psychic damage is inflicted by psionic powers, unspeakable horrors, harmful illusions, and other assaults on the mind. It can impart headaches, confusion, or loss of cognitive function.
  • Often psychic damage must be defended with Intelligence.
  • Sources of psychic damage often can render a creature Charmed, Frightened, distracted, or otherwise confused.
  • Creatures with strong willpower or determined minds may have Resistance to psychic damage and associated conditions.
  • All objects are immune to psychic damage, as are many creatures that don't have minds—such as constructs.
