A mount or similar creature can haul an object that is of an equal or lesser size. For example a Large horse can haul a Large wagon, but couldn’t haul a Huge wagon by itself.

Multiple Haulers. When working together to haul, two creatures of the same size act as one creature of the next highest size category. For example two Medium ponies have the hauling power of one Large horse, and two Large horses have the hauling power of one Huge elephant. Two or more haulers working together share the same turn during an encounter, all delaying to the turn of whichever hauler has the latest turn.

Dashing. The hauler can only Dash if it exceeds the load’s size category by at least one step. A Large horse can Dash while hauling a Medium wagon, but not a Large wagon — unless for example a second Large horse helps.

Heavy Load. The hauling creatures are Slowed if three criteria are met:

  • The object doesn’t have wheels.
  • The load can't be carried on the hauler's body, such as a Medium creature riding atop a Large horse.
  • The hauling creatures don’t outsize the load by at least two sizes.

Uprighting an Object. If a vehicle or other sizable object has been knocked Prone, if the hauler's size category equals or exceeds the object, the hauler can upright the vehicle with a Use action, ending the Prone condition on the vehicle. Multiple creatures acting as one hauler must all take this Use action together. Otherwise, uprighting an object may take considerably more effort and time, perhaps even an entire phase action utilizing pulleys or other tools.
