Constitution is one of the six ability scores.

Constitution measures health, stamina, and vital force.

Constitution Checks

A Constitution check can model any task relying on physical stamina or to push beyond your limits. Other possibilities include:

  • Athletics. Run, swim, or climb for a long distance or a long time.
  • Performance. Dance, drum, or speak for hours on end.
  • Unskilled. Labor without rest for a long time. Stay awake. Resist hunger or thirst. Hold your breath. Quaff an entire stein of ale in one go. For these your narrator might call for a Grit save instead of a Constitution check.

As the nature of endurance is often passive, Constitution checks are possibly the least common of the six abilities.

Grit Saves

The higher modifier between your Strength and Constitution is added to your Grit saving throws.

Constitution Mark

Your Constitution mark equals: 8 + PB + Constitution modifier.

This mark is used by features that originate from your body's inner workings, such as a dragon's fiery breath.

Hit Points

Your Constitution modifier adds to your hit points, as detailed in your class or in character creation. The more hit points you have, the more damage you can survive.

If your Constitution modifier increases by 1, your maximum hit points increase by an amount equal to your level. If your Constitution modifier decreases by 1, your maximum hit points decrease by an amount equal to your level.
