Thank you for helping me balance the skill with my homebrew class[edit]

That was very sweet of you and works way better, have a wonderful day! Stay fresh (talk) 17:17, 22 February 2021 (MST)

Thanks for fixing some of my balances! Hauptmann.[edit]

As you could probably tell, I'm not the most experienced with 5e and the wiki. Yes, I play a ton of it and my party is obsessed with homebrew, but I just do not have the time some of you experienced players do. I'd just like to say thanks for helping me out, it's appreciated. I'm hoping to balance enough things to get the hang of writing pages and concocting concepts well enough to make my own things with a good foundation soon enough. Anyhow, keep up the great work bro. +Rep - Hauptmann Burner (talk)

Thanks for the assist on Boon of The Eldritch Master[edit]

Thank you for the help with the Epic Boon I added - would it be possible to link it to the Epic Boons List? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by kampfertum89 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

No problem. Just checked, it’s still there. Between Eldritch Knight and Elemental Fire, easy to miss. --SwankyPants (talk) 21:01, 26 March 2021 (MDT)

Regarding edits[edit]

thank you for taking the time to reach out to me regarding corrections. if it wouldn't be too much trouble could you contact me via discord? my username is CommanderBeepo#9116 but back on topic, thank you for taking time out of your day to review my effort at homebrewing Arknights into 5e --AshKnight (talk) 5:57, 14 May 2021 (PST)

Sorry, that might not work out too well right now, but I can still do stuff on talk pages if that’s okay. If you absolutely must talk to me through discord, I am still on the communities discord, and if you can’t reach me there, my full tag is SwankyPants#8553. By the way, you could’ve just responded on your own talk page, might make things a bit easier. Thanks for not being too angry. --SwankyPants (talk) 07:08, 14 May 2021 (MDT)
hey, me again. Just coming by to remind you not to make edits without consultation, thanks.: --AshKnight (talk) 20:21, 15 May 2021 (MDT)
Well, you don't own the page, so that's wrong, actually. I'll take my time to explain it then.
  • Originally, the natural weapons were split into three different traits, which wasted space. Even then, the tail was by far the best one, having the additional "knock prone on str save" thing. So, I merged them all into one trait, letting you choose what you want.
    • The Sauria Strength trait was meant to depower the tail and give you a reason to use the other damage types. Nothing else.
  • On that undo, you also deformatted a few things, namely making Strength into Strength, and other such things.
  • As per above, you lowered the maximum height to 5'10".
My edits seemed more than fair while still trying to maintain the original spirit of the page. In practice, this race probably now functions much better, as you no longer have two useless traits, and some extra fighty stuff other than the "knock prone". I'm curious to see why you're against it. --SwankyPants (talk) 06:55, 16 May 2021 (MDT)
I created the page. Your being incredibly rude by altering another's work with consulting them, this is even mention by the websites rules as something to avoid. I'm trying to stay true to in game lore, lore that you aren't aware of. I don't need your opinions or your overbearing hand, id like my work left alone.: --AshKnight (talk) 08:01, 16 May 2021 (MDT)
So be it. I rescind my comments about you not being angry. Thanks for your time. --SwankyPants (talk) 08:41, 16 May 2021 (MDT)
I'm not angry, just annoyed. I shouldn't have to watch all my work like a hawk to ensure my vision is left alone. --AshKnight (talk) 08:51, 16 May 2021 (MDT)
I would appreciate it if you both were a bit more cordial, but that is just one of the points I want to make. What I would like to say is that it seems like you may be confused AshKnight. Homebrew on the wiki can be edited by anyone and the goal of the wiki is collaborative creativity. By having multiple people edit a work, you get several different perspectives on what works best for that homebrew. In addition to that, you don't have to inform the creator before editing their work, as while informing other users of your plans for a homebrew page is for the best, it is by no means necessary. Also, when editing a page, below the edit box is a text blurb which details some info about creating homebrew on the wiki which includes the following " If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here".
Because it seems like you were not aware of all of this, I would like to ask you and to a lesser extent SwankyPants to please respect other people's opinions. For AshKnight, in all likelihood, there will come a time when people edit homebrew you worked on to vandalize it/make it worse, but try to not simply revert the edits other users do in good faith, which it seems like SwankyPants's initial edits were. Either way, if you believe an edit needs to be reverted explaining why an edit has been reverted can also helpful(either through the edit summary or talk page), with the relatively recent lumberjack being an example.
Anyway, for SwankyPants, I ask that you try to be cordial and discuss things when issues arise. I do understand that you too may be upset, but explaining things and being calm is better than letting a situation devolve. Either way, edits do need to be made to the race, but this is not the forum to have them. I have since locked the race and will be giving my own personal thoughts about the race on its talk page a latter date when things are calmer.
My closing thoughts are for AshKnight. I do understand wanting to stay true to source material when creating homebrew, but at the same time would like to say that taking some liberties with how something works for the sake of balance/flavor/ect. to translate it to another medium is ok. A homebrew's final appearance may different than what you or I would have imagined, but in the end we all are trying to creating usable and balanced content for 5e.--Blobby383b (talk) 09:47, 16 May 2021 (MDT)

About the DeathKnight page[edit]

Hey SwankyPants, I have been working a bit on your Death Knight page. I'll check if I can balance other things and will do when I'll come to play the class if something appears to be under or overtuned. I've been working on the balance on a Google doc that I translated in French. Since it's mostly your work, feel free to use it if needed. Here is the link : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1k8MfViFBi3knatpPMNRzY1_5dybfAhJvTqL5GA_haYw/edit?usp=sharing - Phypo 08/08/2021

Hey, thanks for reaching out, but I think you might be mistaken, I didn't make that page. I've made 3 edits to it, total. None earlier than today. I assume this is confusion based on what I said about Obliterate (5e Spell), which I did rework, but that's about it.
The original creator, User:Raynerxr, hasn't made an edit since early 2016, and is for all intents and purposes, dead.
Either way I'm still willing to help with the page, but I just wanted to clear this up. Also I don't really speak french. --SwankyPants (talk) 10:33, 8 August 2021 (MDT)

Wither[edit]

I'm a new member and decided to post a 5e creature page for a creature I've been working on for a while: The Wither from Minecraft. Since I saw you helped make a race page for the Wither Skeleton, I thought you might like to take a look at it and offer any advice. Knight9910 (talk) 04:14, 17 August 2021 (MDT)

Hey! I took a look at the page, and it seems pretty solid, nice job. Ran calculations on the CR and got CR 18(Offensive 20, Defensive 16) from it, although I could've easily done it wrong. In my personal opinion though, the CR looks fine as is. Overall, I don't think I'd change anything about it. --SwankyPants (talk) 08:46, 17 August 2021 (MDT)

Oath of rot subclass[edit]

Hi swankypants, please use the talk page on my subclass to discuss changes with it to me, the changes made comppletely rewrote the subclass and made it so that the class my player was playing (because it was made alongside him) difficult to corroborate for rules questions. if you have other questions, feel free to discuss them with me over discord Var'uun#6962 --Varuun

Hey, I just left a comment on the page. I was at work when you first came back and only now do I really have time. --SwankyPants (talk) 07:30, 12 September 2021 (MDT)

Wonderful, please contact me through discord so this matter can be resolved quickly. Var'uun#6962 --Varuun

Variants[edit]

Hello, I'm the person that's made the variant abyssal dragon class and has been "told 3 times now to edit the original". So now I'm coming to you, I've edited the original, all of the damage numbers and additions I made, and since, everything was deleted by the original creator. So where should I go now? Please tell me, what's the purpose of variants? --Artif (talk) 18:39, 23 September 2021 (MDT)

I genuinely have no idea why Lavie(not the original creator) reverted the edit. While it did introduce a few formatting problems, it definitely fixed some other glaring stuff. Just quickly sum up your changes and their purpose on the talk page, and sign in when making the edit. That should get the pigs off your back. --SwankyPants (talk) 18:46, 23 September 2021 (MDT)
Alright, thank you, I will try that then. --Artif (talk) 23:58, 23 September 2021 (MDT)

Hetzi Dracon Wording Help[edit]

Hi! Could you help me with the rules wording on my page Hetzi Dracon? Thanks in advance! Bowler1234 (talk) 11:36, 24 September 2021 (MDT)

I guess I can take a look, sure. --SwankyPants (talk) 11:40, 24 September 2021 (MDT)
Okay, did a once-over. Much more condensed now. I made a few adjustment, namely bringing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd level spells down to cantrip, 1st, 2nd, but otherwise I left most of everything alone, balance wise. --SwankyPants (talk) 12:07, 24 September 2021 (MDT)
Thank you so much! I have a hard time with wording, so thanks for your help! Bowler1234 (talk) 12:10, 24 September 2021 (MDT)

"Calling Out"[edit]

Its adorable that you two are trying to team up since i called one of you out! :D im glad you have all the free time to do this editing, its keeping me busy! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by thefakejoker69 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

I know this is a complete waste of my time to even bother trying to interact with you, but did you even read what he said? All of your stuff is still there, just commented out so he could remove the stub tag and make it show up properly. This is all phenomenally petty for something that isn't even a problem. --SwankyPants (talk) 11:59, 30 September 2021 (MDT)

Request[edit]

SwankyPants, please don't delete Nonsense Statblocks (5e Variant Rule). I already stated it is mostly used for fun and fooling around, not for most gameplay. --Post by User:MythicActions2000.

As are April Fools pages, but those don't need a special variant rule denoting that they aren't meant to be played. It just says so.
Listen, as of late we've got enough non-functional content on our plates, and the last thing we need is this behavior to be encouraged.
If you really want a silly page, use an April Fools template, and at least try to make it playable. Please. I beg you. --SwankyPants (talk) 09:33, 11 October 2021 (MDT)

Thanks for replying --User:MythicActions2000

Can you please take a look at my Biting Edge melee mode for the God Eater class in discussion --Khanivore (talk) 13:54, 7 December 2021 (MST)

Sure, I guess. Not too familiar with God Eater but I can check it out. --SwankyPants (talk) 14:05, 7 December 2021 (MST)

so you dont have any comments or suggestions? --Khanivore (talk) 11:03, 8 December 2021 (MST)

I'm trying not to annoy you but i made some edits to the subclass if you can take another look at it please and thx u --Khanivore (talk) 14:00, 9 December 2021 (MST)

Mythic Actions[edit]

Hey, SwankyPants. I've created a page called Mythic Actions (5e Variant Rule). Feel free to use the rule in a creature you make. For more information, please visit the page. I have 2 things to ask you. 1: how can I get the page to keep track of all creatures with Mythic Actions? 2: How do I make a template for Mythic Actions description so users don't have to keep writing the whole desciption themselves? I want one like there is for legendary actions where you can specify the creature's name and the number of mythic actions gained. Please let me know if you have any advice or comments. --User:MythicActions2000

  1. DPLs are the main example of how the wiki goes about listing stuff based on categories. You could steal the one from 5e Humanoid Monsters, and replace the |category={{{1}}} with |category=Mythic Monster, then add Category:Mythic Monster with double square brackets to any page that uses them.
  2. For making the mythic stuff automatic, I'd look at how it's handled by Template:Legendary Actions on a page like the vampire statblock, where it requires the creature name and the number of actions it has. Using this information, you can also add the category to the template, not needing you to add it on your own.
This is just some of the basic setup stuff, I can get more into the nitty gritty if need be. --SwankyPants (talk) 10:14, 11 October 2021 (MDT)

Thanks a bunch for the help! By the way, could you take a look at my Clown Trumpet (5e Trap)? I think it needs an April Fools tag.

Opinion Search[edit]

Hey, SwankyPants, what would you think about this wiki starting hypothetical creature battles? --User:MythicActions2000

In my opinion, it doesn't sound great. When it comes to throwing one monster at another(especially when it comes to 5e), it's just a competition of who is either the most debilitating or who deals the most damage. For example, your suggested example with Cthulhu and the Ruler of Warriors. Cthulhu could easily initiate a grapple and badger the ruler with intelligence saves, but it then has to fight against a hit bonus higher than it's AC, and an average damage of just under 200, before legendary actions. Cthulhu is dead in three turns, essentially.
5e isn't really built for monster mashes at same CR, as they are, or at least should be, equally capable of killing eachother, and this is often left up to chance. Other than that, it's just crunching numbers.
If you really want to throw big monsters against eachother, I would look into wargames specifically around that premise. I know Warhammer 40k and Age of Sigmar both have plenty of huge beasties. Pick up tabletop simulator, build a 2000 point list, and you've got your monster mash. It'll be a hell of a lot more interesting than running it in 5e, at least. --SwankyPants (talk) 08:32, 13 October 2021 (MDT)

I don't mean like an actual dnd fight using damage and hit points. I mean like friendly discussing the attributes and abilities of the creatures that the stablocks represent and coming up with a likely winner. Also, it doesn't have to be powerful monsters. Creatures with low CR would work, too. But still, thanks for replying. --User:MythicActions2000

Crown of Akura`m[edit]

Template:Crown of Akura`m

Mythic Actions2[edit]

Hey, SwankyPants, could you find any other creatures with mythic actions? I already got the Loch Ness monster and Kielo Feht, but there may be more.

Edits[edit]

Hey, SwankyPants! I've been trying to fix up some of the 5e creatures that had maintenance templates on them. I was wondering if you could take a look at some of them and tell me if they're okay now. You can find the list on my user page. —MythicActions2000 (talk)

I've looked through most of them as they pop up in recent changes, didn't spot any glaring issues. Formatting seems good. --SwankyPants (talk) 18:22, 14 October 2021 (MDT)

Thanks. --MythicActions2000 (talk)

Teamwork[edit]

Hey, SwankyPants, don't take this the wrong way, but what do you say about us working together to make a page? Any ideas or thoughts? Please send your reply to my talk page. --MythicActions2000 (talk)

Hey, SwankyPants! I've got some new thoughts about that race on my talk page! Thanks for brainstorming ideas for the new race with me. (We still need a name) --MythicActions2000 (talk) 15:39, 15 October 2021 (MDT)

Featured Pages[edit]

Hey, SwakyPants. What eexactly re featured articles and how can you get one of your pages onto featured articles? --MythicActions2000 (talk) 16:26, 15 October 2021 (MDT)

Featured Articles are meant to be examples of the highest quality on the wiki, decided by the wiki itself. For a page to get nominated, it has to be completely uncontested for balance for about 6 months.
While I'm flattered by the proposition, I don't really think anything I've got deserves a place up there. Most of the stuff that could qualify still has small problems, like any of the races I made, or that one class. Races are either derivative or just kinda iffy, and the class still needs to be playtested. --SwankyPants (talk) 13:15, 17 October 2021 (MDT)

Elvis Comments[edit]

Hello there, Swankypants. I'm glad to see your opinions on my Elvis Presley page, and I am now come to give a polite and civil reply. Most of the issue is answered on Ref3rence's talk page, but here I'll finish up.

Firstly, you said Elvis' description isn't neutral. I admit, it doesn't seem neutral at first, but the guy I'm presenting is completely ignorant of who his work supports, and even thinks the Adversary and the Most High don't exist. So there.

Secondly, your statement that historic figures have no use on DnD. My reply is that they're in a mystified version of the real world, and I've always been fascinated with the idea of fiction and nonfiction being together in one place.

You asked MythicActions to name one demonic Elvis song. He actually didn't have any visibly devilish songs (unlike AC-DC and Venom) and I didn't intend for that impression to come across. He did, however, have sexual songs, and he was indeed a fornicator (the real Elvis, at least, this fictional one could be different).

You say you also disagree with Socrates and Plato. Socrates (the real one) really did sacrifice to a devil, and he really did make a dramatic commaent on peeping at a young man's underwear. The real Plato did think that philosophers should rule society and that nobody should be allowed to practice religion privately.

I hope this clears some things up, so we can go back to normal. Best wishes.

Enduringone5 (talk) 23:57, 20 October 2021 (MDT)Enduringone5

The guy you are presenting, though, is a real person. Even if he is mystified, only a work of fiction, it is still named after a real person, and is hardly seperate as is. It's hardly even alternate history. The descriptions don't even bother trying to seperate it from reality.
Even if everything in there is true, again, that's not the point. Again, like R3ference said, he didn't simply decide to become a "dopehead", but unlike his disbelief, this is given no time. Even facts can be put in a disparaging way.
Let's make an example. Let's say that I, as a member of a organized religion, decide to make a deity page to represent my belief. My belief, just for the sake of example, goes against everything you believe. Let's say I make a creature page for Jesus, and within, I describe him as someone who claims my god does not exist, and wishes to lead other people away from His light. Turning water into wine makes him a witch, attacking the bankers makes him a criminal, and attempting to instate his own religion makes him a heretic. Would these things not be true? Would you not be upset with this description?
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here. No matter how true a description is, it can still be disparaging, and upsetting for some. Same for hitler, same for presidents, same for other religious figures, same for Jesus.
Again, I ask you to stop making these pages. They don't serve a purpose here. --SwankyPants (talk) 06:40, 21 October 2021 (MDT)

RfA[edit]

I thought someone else like Blobby would have done this sooner. Seeing as this is becoming ridiculous, I'll get down to it. You already know what you've done and what will have to be done, as well as what can be done once you gain this responsibility. In the interest of time and formality, I'd like to nominate you for adminship, which is up to you to accept or deny, right now.--Yanied (talk) 21:14, 22 October 2021 (MDT)

Sounds like a plan to me. I'll accept. --SwankyPants (talk) 21:23, 22 October 2021 (MDT)
Alright here. And this for formalities sake.--Yanied (talk) 21:29, 22 October 2021 (MDT)
All aboard the S.S. Adminship!
Welcome to Adminship. You are now part of "The Face" of D&D Wiki. You have more burden on yourself now that you are an admin because users will be looking at you for editing help, knowledge about pages, etc. Make sure to familiarize yourself with Meta Pages to help address this burden. I recommend you take a look at Special:ListGroupRights if you have not already. Some of the new feature's uses follow: You can now delete pages, protect pages, rollback edits, block users and IP's, edit every page, patrol edits, and do a couple more minor things.
  • Deleting pages is normally done through Category:Candidates for Deletion. Anything with a good reason to be deleted on that page should be deleted. Other times pages should be deleted is in the case of vandalism, spam, or even when someone makes a page and after a few edits they either blank the page or replace it with something like "Please delete this". If this page consisted of close to just the preload it is fine to just delete it.
  • Protecting pages has quite a few different times when it should be used. Pages should be protected according to the author's wishes (with Template:Locked Page added to the top of the page in question), in case of conflict (with Template:Temp Locked Page added to the top of the page in question), in case of OGC published materials (with Template:OGL Top added to the top of the page in question and Template:OGL Bottom added to the bottom), or finally if the page is a vital part of D&D Wiki's organization. Also, if it deals with D&D Wiki's organization the page needs to be protected. For Example 3.5e Homebrew is protected from all non-sysop edits. No template needs to be added to pages if they are part of D&D Wiki's organization (even though some do exist like Template:Admin Locked Page)
  • Blocking a user or IP should be used with respect to policy. To block someone just click "block" (found on Recent Changes, the diff in question, the userpage, etc) and fill out the corresponding form. For a typical vandalism attack I normally block the user for two weeks. Certain things demand a longer block and others a shorter. No standards have been set for block lengths so use your best judgment.
  • Editing every page on D&D Wiki mostly means you can now edit the 5e SRD, 3.5e SRD and the MSRD. Feel free to edit them if inaccuracies are found. If interested further please look at their To-Do lists; I am sure your help will be appreciated.
Now that you are an admin I would say more burden is placed on you, but I really hope you enjoy being an admin and I hope you decide to stay around on D&D Wiki for a while more to come. Welcome to Adminship. Again, you're now part of "The Face" of D&D Wiki. --Green Dragon (talk) 16:08, 30 October 2021 (MDT)

frustrated[edit]

The vandals are driving me nuts. My main fear is that I would find that I may need to jump thru security hoops to log into my account someday. Redrum (talk) 17:58, 3 November 2021 (MDT)

Yeah, I get that fear, although it's not happening any time soon. Most talk about instituting some sort of wait period for accounts or posters with the brass has come up negative, so unless your IP starts vandalizing pages, you shouldn't have any issues. The vandals seem to be under control as of late anyways, and you aren't anything approaching a problem. Don't worry about it. --SwankyPants (talk) 18:02, 3 November 2021 (MDT)

Thank you[edit]

Thanks for your help. I'm sorry if I made things more difficult, I didn't know this was such a rampant problem. --The Wizened Throne (talk) 15:40, 8 November 2021 (MDT)

This is a common problem on any place with 1, high traffic interest and 2, open-source common use where any person can edit. Just try not to lose anyone's head over it because it's relatively fixable. Comes with the territory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ --Yanied (talk) 15:52, 8 November 2021 (MST)
Hey, no problems here. You didn't know. Just avoid interacting with em, and you'll be good. --SwankyPants (talk) 15:57, 8 November 2021 (MST)

Gravity Falls[edit]

I have a slightly odd question to ask. Do you know anyone who watched the Gravity Falls cartoon? The main reason I ask to get an opinion on the Time Baby. Can he (or it) be considered a Great Old One? Redrum (talk) 17:51, 17 November 2021 (MST)

I think a lot of things can be a patron. The baby is more than justified. If you wanted, you could use the congress of babies as a collective entity for a patron maybe.--Yanied (talk) 21:08, 15 December 2021 (MST)

Christmas Challenge[edit]

I have an odd question. Is there a way to do a general challenge (or contest) on this site? I would like to encourage to post Christmas related stuff on the site. (You are allowed to tell me to not push my luck.) Redrum (talk) 16:54, 15 December 2021 (MST)

It's nothing I'd really be able to contribute to, I've been kinda dry on homebrew for the past couple weeks, but I could absolutely help you set it up! I can't really guarantee activity either, but if you wanna go through with it, we can throw something up on the news part of the main page. --SwankyPants (talk) 17:25, 15 December 2021 (MST)
What I really want is ideas for Christmas related "monsters". I wouldn't mind a couple of Christmas subclasses on top of that. Redrum (talk) 17:33, 15 December 2021 (MST)

I could help with a few ideas. Lemme know on my talk page your thoughts on a few monsters, I'll get a few of my own. Full disclosure though, my ideas can be kinda "out there" at times, so it's cool if some of them get shot down. Glass (talk) 18:55, 15 December 2021 (MST)

I'm not sure if homebrewing entirely new stuff for a seasonal fling is really necessary. I'd say it depends more on a campaign having a seasonal event and redressing some things as elves or reindeer as more adequate. Homebrew is also a bit of a finicky thing for some people (I know it is for me). Christmas in particular is a bit narrow for me to even think about for homebrew. I did make christmas elves a race, which was arguably sort of dumb since they're more like dnd halflings. You could also reflavor a cleric from the Light domain to represent the guiding star in the Nativity scene. Overall not much other than reflavoring needed in my opinion.--Yanied (talk) 21:08, 15 December 2021 (MST)

Spell List trouble[edit]

I require knowledge...

I'm trying to add a new Colum (A new spellcasting class) to the spell table. I've managed to do it for all spell levels up until level 5, where it randomly decides that the class in question (Occult.) no longer exists, and moves the list over, removing an existing column. I've spend most of the day frying my brain over this and would appreciate the help...
Thank you

(Here's all of the relevant pages I could find)
Main Spell List - https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Spells_(Hyrule_Supplement)#Spell_List
6+ Spell List - https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Template:Spells_(Hyrule_Supplement)/6%2B
Class Spell Template - https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Template:HyruleSpell

I'm a lil' busy right now, but I'll look into this soon enough. Never been too great with tables, but I bet I can sort this out. --SwankyPants (talk) 10:40, 2 January 2022 (MST)
Thank you kindly! --Lycanskull (talk) 16:42 02 December, 2022 (MST)
Okay, so the Template part of this is integrated properly, but 6th level or higher spells are lacking the style="width:48px;"|Occu. !! underneath the other researcher subs. If you add that, it should fix your problems. Unless you already tried that, in which case I'm a bit lost. --SwankyPants (talk) 15:21, 2 January 2022 (MST)
I tried that before unfortunately. It just does This (Note what's happened to the Wind collum, and the fact that Occultist has no spells assigned to it. And assigning spells does nothing as well). I imagine it has to do with something on This page, but I'm not sure. --Lycanskull (talk) 22:48 7 January, 2022 (MST)
Yup, it's an issue in the HyruleSpell template. It should generate 12 ||s for levels 6+, but for some reason it only generates 11. One of em must be missing the proper formatting, although a look at your changes to the template mostly confused me more. I'd love to look into this further, but it's late and I can barely parse most template format when I'm fully conscious. I'll take a better look into it tommorow. --SwankyPants (talk) 22:18, 7 January 2022 (MST)

Medium Class[edit]

Hey man, I'm so sorry for the Wikidot thing that I had in my class I did not know that site was banned, I won't do it again. --SpikeSunshine (talk) 08:26, 12 January 2022 (MST) The guy from the Medium Class

I need help formatting my spell.[edit]

It says that I need to select a level, but I already did and it still has the message that says I didn't. Also, The only things that show up on the spell page are: At higher levels: and Level ---. If you could help me edit it that would be so helpful. The spell is called Daybreak.

Simple solution. The arrows indicate comments, which don't actually count for anything on the page. Like, if you look here when editing this section, the nonsense doesn't appear. Get rid of the arrows, and you'll be peachy keen. --SwankyPants (talk) 09:30, 14 January 2022 (MST)

Help is help, albeit different than how another chooses to help[edit]

What if people don't want to do the edits? Revival (talk) 11:16, 11 February 2022 (MST)

I get that some people might not want to, but if they're willing to leave something on the page itself, they might be willing to start making fixes of their own, given a little push. The whole motto of the wiki is "be bold" after all. Just wanna encourage it. --SwankyPants (talk) 11:20, 11 February 2022 (MST)
Totes get it. But there was a user that had similar feelings like you about my editing, and I theirs. Like, if a user can list out all the issues in a template, why can't they fix them instead? Either way, snide remarks weren't encouraging and quite possibly motivated continued undesired behavior :p Revival (talk) 11:27, 11 February 2022 (MST)

leadership[edit]

Are there any 5e rules on Henchmen/Cohorts/Followers? Redrum (talk) 17:38, 13 April 2022 (MDT)

I don't believe there's any official rules for that out there, although I don't keep up with recent WotC books. I do believe there's a UA for sidekicks, and it was probably incorporated into a recent book. Other than that, Strongholds and Followers does exist, 3rd party book. --SwankyPants (talk) 17:42, 13 April 2022 (MDT)

Arcane Thieves' Tools[edit]

Is there a magic item that can be used on magic locks and traps? 23.251.18.223 08:38, 30 April 2022 (MDT)

Not that I'm aware of, seeing as magic traps are typically disarmed differently. Could just use +1/2/3 thieves tools, if you really want that. --SwankyPants (talk) 10:37, 30 April 2022 (MDT)

Frost Bringer, Revised[edit]

around two weeks ago a user named Anguis made a copy of the Frost Bringer class that i worked on. This "revised" class has been edited by them several times but it remains functionally similar to the original class with the edits only designed to boost the numbers of the features. I looked and confirmed that a page can be put up for deletion if "It is an exact or near copy of an already existing piece of content on the wiki". I reached out to the user in the class's discussion page about my concerns over the class but have received no answer. I don't want to get into a fight with this user about this class so I am asking that as an Admin you look into this and make a judgement.--Silverking (talk) 16:33, 7 May 2022 (MDT)

Ah, the classic Dandwiki Maneuver. I'll take a look at the page, see what the deal is. --SwankyPants (talk) 21:26, 7 May 2022 (MDT)
Yeah they did it again but are now calling it the ...(5e class). I don't know if I should say anything in the discussion page because they never said anything last time.--Silverking (talk) 23:00, 29 May 2022 (MDT)
I've gone ahead and speedy deleted the "..." page. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 23:25, 29 May 2022 (MDT)

What armor would he use?[edit]

Hi, I was going to play a 3rd level battle master 3rd level war domain warforged Bounty Hunter (5e Background) and just wanted to know what armor would he be wearing? I have made a Heroforge for him, and just wanted some feedback on this. PMU stands for Protective Medical Unit. --Willzabub (talk) 08:33, 14 September 2022 (MDT)

I'm not quite sure how I'm more qualified to answer this question, but at 6th level, plate armor is likely available? Otherwise splint or whatever the previous heavy armor would be. --SwankyPants (talk) 09:07, 14 September 2022 (MDT)
I figured as an admin I would get better feedback from you --Willzabub (talk) 09:30, 14 September 2022 (MDT)

God Eater (5e Class)[edit]

hay it being almost a full year can you look at my god eater class again i've made a lot of small adjustments--Khanivore (talk) 08:47, 3 November 2022 (MDT)

I'm a bit out of practice with balancing 5e content lately, but I can take a look at it. --SwankyPants (talk) 09:09, 3 November 2022 (MDT)

Death[edit]

I am sorry for editing a user page without permission. but when I said "died" I specifically said their account died. Not the actual person —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BenjaminWizzard (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

I understand that, but the words "rest in peace" implies a lot of things. Also, I've seen people go inactive for years and then come back to activity. Accounts don't often "die" and can't even be deleted in the first place. --SwankyPants (talk) 14:53, 11 December 2022 (MST)
Makes sense, I did the exact same thing a couple of years ago when I went inactive BenjaminWizzard (talk) 14:56, 11 December 2022 (MST)
