I know this page, Afflictor(3.5e Class), isn't right, but the right way to approach it or the user escapes me. Any users' help would be great! Thanks :-) ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 13:10, 23 October 2018 (MDT)

Weird text placment in 5e SRD creatures
Hey, I just want to point out that some of the text are in really weird places, most notably the section on Armor, Weapon, and Tool Proficiencies is in the middle of the senses section, then the Grapple Rules for Monsters are under the limited useage heading and Modifying Creatures is under size. Babosa (talk) 14:50, 3 November 2018 (MDT)
- Huh, I'll try to look into this and make sure it's supposed to be that way, since it's transcribed from the 5e SRD. It definitely looks weird, so it might be an error!--GamerAim (talk) 16:19, 3 November 2018 (MDT)
Infinity Gauntlet Spam
Am I the only one seeing this? I think I've blocked 3 IPs and protected 2 pages. Is there more that can be done? or simply stay vigilant? ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 22:23, 9 November 2018 (MST)
- Can you please supply some references? --Green Dragon (talk) 08:46, 12 November 2018 (MST)
- On this page Cursed Blade (5e Equipment) two different IPs wanted to make this item the gauntlet, and then again on this page Courage-Seeker (5e Equipment). I just happen to have these on my watch list so that's why I caught them. I haven't searched into more pages being vandalized for the infinity gauntlet. Maybe there's nothing that can be done except for what I and Quincy have done and others are just aware that its happened more than just once. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 07:28, 13 November 2018 (MST)
- Special:CheckUser (get users) on both 72.234.104.76 and 66.91.185.220 give some interesting results. Either it was a focused vandalism attempt, where one vandal wanted to support another one, or a third channel of communication was used to carry out their intentions. If we block those users I doubt it would happen again. Also, a search does not return any additional infinty gauntlet results so I think you saw them all while patrolling. --Green Dragon (talk) 23:19, 15 November 2018 (MST)
- That's good to hear. Thanks for your help. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 08:46, 16 November 2018 (MST)
ConcealedLight conduct
I find some of ConcealedLight's comments here to be needlessly disparaging towards me. To be frank, the negative attention that I have garnered from him and others recently is making me feel attacked any time I come on D&D Wiki, to the point that I have had to stay away from D&D Wiki and even Discord for fear of the hostility being lobbed at me by an increasingly toxic community. Would an administrator please look into his comments and warn him if you believe they are in violation of behavior policy, as I believe they are?--GamerAim (talk) 06:26, 21 November 2018 (MST)
- Sorry, but warnings on D&D Wiki are for official channels. In a discussion about making an external platform official, issuing a warning for reasons why a user feels the way they do from an unofficial source, does not follow policy. For example, saying something to another user like "in our game your unjust absolute control ruined our roleplaying!" does not warrant a warning. If everything had taken place in an environment which we condemn as official, this would definitely warrant a warning.
- Another way of looking at the situation, is like a boiling pot. The concensus does not know anything about the discord channel, and each users input is boiled down to make the discussion ready. The application of each comment adds another flavor to the soup. In the end, either we can eat the soup or we all decide that we would rather try something else.
- I hope that you can look past any toxicity arising from the dicussion. You don't need to respond, or even take part in the discussion if it's making you uncomfortable. No one has anything against you, you're a great guy, but to reach concensus and implement controversial policies there are always unpleasant surprises. Good luck! --Green Dragon (talk) 08:42, 21 November 2018 (MST)
- I don't think GamerAim is asking for a warning particularly based on Discord conduct, I think the Discord comment was a half-aside. They have linked an example of the comments made on D&D Wiki that they feel are troublesome, and this part is very much within our remit to warn if appropriate. --SgtLion (talk) 10:30, 21 November 2018 (MST)
- Maybe it's just me but I don't see how ConcealedLight's comments are in violation of any sort of policy. Quincy (talk) 10:38, 21 November 2018 (MST)
- While I don't find this particularly surprising I too don't believe my comments were out of line in the example given. If anything this further solidifies my previous request for GA to not interact with me. —ConcealedLight (talk) 15:20, 21 November 2018 (MST)

5eSRD Creatures
Since all the Miscellaneous Creatures are beasts and there are very few beasts not in Miscellaneous Creatures, wouldn't it be a good idea to move everything in Miscellaneous Creatures to monsters to make searching for creatures easier. and similar reasoning with NPCs Babosa (talk) 22:26, 29 November 2018 (MST)

Account Deletion
Hello, I'm terribly sorry, I can not find an admin- I hope my request here amongst the banners will come true. I humbly request my account to be deleted from this site. My name is not the name I should adhere to, no matter how sell-sword you want to talk about it. I picked up real swordsmanship and it has continued my integrity, pride, and dress. I will not be "returning" to create a new name, you do not have to concern yourselves with that. You have a very nice library- I have read my fill. I found my first knight here in fact- if I ever play I may very well come to find myself a silent knight. --Warrior of the Snake (talk) 22:24, 1 December 2018 (MST)
For the record I want to delete "mercenary guardian"- it just dawned on me how far I have come since elementary school things. That guardian is a façade by fat kids who want to vs the tundra wolf/prairie falcon warriors when it comes to the flanking maneuvers of getting up close and personal with a crossbow. At least, that's how far I keep getting in my life. Nothing regular like a regular snake, but I am infact a viper sort of man. Be it space mercenaries, SWAT, counter-terrorists, sell-swords, barbarian commanders with two swords(NOT a son of a chieftain)the Kurgan, shadow rogues and mostly that kind of stuff. Bikers, excetra. As I have done with every place that's important to me, but am leaving this hall, my snake must be mentioned. Now, I'm not going to prad like some tree viper who would be a bard, nor will I get really far and bring to light a guess that a "mercenary guardian" does and have it be rhinocerous viper- I am the Malayan Pit Viper! Velvet Assassin. Sebastian, the Velvet Assassin. --Warrior of the Snake (talk) 22:36, 1 December 2018 (MST)
One last thing. On your freedom fighters and shadow ops page- "That's quite the 'iron dragon' you got there" I found a book through a twist of fate for Heaven. It's called "Rifts Mercenaries" try it out you guys/gals. It will suit your campaigns a lot better- since everything in it is what we need to defeat already. But it really depends on the opponent that makes the "scarecrow" into a "harvest", because mine sure as hell didn't get "skinner"! He also lives right next door- I don't even have to think much about what animal I will take for my forest mercenary. May the skulls sink in the blood of your wake. --Warrior of the Snake (talk) 22:46, 1 December 2018 (MST)
I have now read that page more than a brisk understanding- it was actually not what I thought. It was like school started over again. ;P totally why I'm not falling to giving up my spirit animal. They lost "retrievers", "flying squirrels", "coyotes", "weasel", "jackal", yellow bears, "possum"/"thresher shark" and the rest are like the Steel Dragons. Just kids and their families who don't get in my way and continue to brainwash. Don't forget to work out. --Warrior of the Snake (talk) 23:17, 1 December 2018 (MST)

I see. Well, that's alright. I have imbedded a slayer oath from another d&d wiki into my user page. I will continue my conquest of supreme commander, space mercenary who took hold of the galaxy and didn't create the wrong idea. Which is considered "warlord." No, justice for all and all for one! Imperial until democracy. --Warrior of the Snake (talk) 19:03, 23 December 2018 (MST)

5e variant weapon property tables
I was looking at some 5e weapon properties and I noticed that the tables on their pages do not indicate if the weapon is a martial or simple weapon or if speficic classes are proficent with them. How could that be coded in? Babosa (talk) 19:36, 19 December 2018 (MST)

Formatting
Hey, I need help with a visual issue on a race I was contributing to, Lupine (5e Race), near the bottom, I had used bullet points for the trait "Moon Mad", and that caused the next pieces of text to also be shifted over. I've already tried inputting an extra enter space between the lines, but it doesn't fix it. Anything that can be done about this? --Cosmos (talk) 20:11, 25 January 2019 (MST)
- I tried to accomplish the desired outcome but can't get it quite right. I think the space can be removed but can't figure it out at the moment. ~ 23:28, 25 January 2019 (MST)

Syntax Question
what is the purpose of <span> being used? An example is here [[1]]. Another question, the links are editable; I'm curious why they were created to be edited too(and its cool you can input a command after the link a like that). ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 08:38, 20 February 2019 (MST)
- Span is used there since div's would break with that syntax. Span is normally used around div's or within existing css formats.
- These links were created as a link that edits the source since it's then usable when someone clicks it. Coming from a guideline, we want this to be as simple as possible. --Green Dragon (talk) 08:47, 20 February 2019 (MST)
- Now that you updated things, I'm not so confused about the link. Understanding span, div, css or relationshpis of them is another story though :p and I'm good with that. Thanks for trying to help me understand :) ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 09:11, 20 February 2019 (MST)

An issue regarding SRD Adventuring gear.
I was browsing Adventuring Gear while making a character earlier today, and noticed that underneath Component Pouch and above Crowbar there was User:ConcealedLight, labeled as an item. I clicked on the link, just to check it out, and superimposed over ConcealedLight's page is a description of a hooded lantern. I'm still kinda new to this wiki, so while looking for a place to report issues, I went to their talk page and let them know the situation, before coming here. I'm not sure if this is the right place to report issues like that, but if not I would greatly appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. Milathorongian (5e Race)
Can more admins/users input on the topic.
It was PfD because ConcealedLight doesn't find it funny. I removed {{delete}} with reasoning that the ever popular DuelSoulBlade Shadow Vampelf (5e Race) is the same as this page. (You can find more pages on the April Fools 5e Races page too). ConcealedLight re-added the template, rather use a talk page (?), with the reason you see below. Uhm...I'm not aware of the consensus that we decide what others find funny except in the case of horridly gross/offensive material. The pages humor is entirely tied to the power level.
I disagree and the consensus with previous similar pages was to delete them. If you still disagree and want to have a conversation about it the Admin talk should be suitable for other to weigh in
~ ConcealedLight
Another imposing (what others and myself have considered bullying in the past!) of preference, which has been discussed before. I don't understand it, so here I am. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 09:19, 12 March 2019 (MDT)
- Bullet Kin (5e Race), I don't find it funny. Tiny bullet people? Clearly not balanced. May I delete?
- God (5e Race), self explanatory and as above. I don't find it funny, may I delete?
- DuelSoulBlade Shadow Vampelf (5e Race) most redeeming quality was when Mara added just one more template to ensure everyone knew just how not balanced these are. I'd love to {{delete}} this one.
- Where is the line drawn? I've not seen consensus and plenty of examples to contradict it. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 09:36, 12 March 2019 (MDT)
- I don't find the Milathorongian funny either; I had to re-read the page a couple of times to see what the author probably thought was funny, which seems to be their proclivity toward becoming mary sues. I think the page should probably be deleted, but I won't lose any sleep if the decision ends up being to keep it.
- Both the bullet-kin and the god races seem very low-effort and not all that funny in my opinion; I'd be fine with deleting them both, but if the DuelSoulBlade Shadow Vampelf were proposed for deletion, I would disagree strongly. It accomplishes the Mary Sue/brokenness of the milathorogian/god, but in my opinion, it ends up being a lot funnier because of how over-the-top ridiculous it is, and I know many other users feel the same way about that page.
- There's no one place where we can draw a line. Every admin has different standards for whether a page should be deleted vs kept; this is why we have the policy that you shouldn't delete a page if you were the one who proposed it for deletion; it requires that at least two admins look at the page and agree that it should be deleted. I share your perception of what seems like ConcealedLight's imposition of his personal preference, though I wouldn't go so far as to call it bullying. What he should have done here was not re-add the {{delete}} template, but rather initiate a discussion about why the page should/n't be deleted.
- Like ConcealedLight and BigShotFancyMan, I welcome other users to weigh in on this topic and share their opinions. — Geodude (talk | contribs | email) . . 11:51, 12 March 2019 (MDT)
- Uh, so I have a few april fools things made before I quite understood the concept of it, like the Raine (5e Creature) or Leviathan Sovereign (5e Creature) and I am ok with them being deleted (mainly because they aren't supposed to be DnD content either). But things that are playfully overpowered like the Mary Sue (5e Class) or Protagonist (5e Class) should be kept because they are.. funny I guess? Or at least they draw on funny things like tropes or even memes. --Yanied (talk) 21:25, 12 March 2019 (MDT)
- I don't think the Milathorongian race is very funny either, but on the other hand I don't like the idea of it being outright deleted either. It has a lot more than 1-2 scant sentences for physical description, history, etc. which puts it quality-wise pretty far ahead of many other "joke" pages such as the previously mentioned Bullet Kin (5e Race) and God (5e Race). It's clear that OP at least put some sincere effort into making the page, however misplaced, and that amount of effort should be recognized. Based Quincy (talk) 23:42, 12 March 2019 (MDT)

- The Bullet Kin (5e Race) is marked as April Fools since it uses the race itself as ammunition. God (5e Race) is an April Fools page since it makes the idea of God into a race. Are they funny? They don't make me laugh. This shows how little quality control we have for April Fools pages.
- To be fair to this "humor" we could keep the Milathorongian (5e Race). Although it does something a little different, by building on another April Fools page, it's basically the same thing.
- This is not the first time that we have had discrepancies on what is really "funny". Maybe we should only qualify April Fools pages if their humor is built on the D&D game? Do we have any examples of April Fools pages which build their humor on external ideas that are really funny? I'm not talking about pages which bring common humor into a D&D game.
- Would regulating April Fools pages by the following keep the funny pages, and get rid of the ones which really aren't funny?
- April Fools pages either bring common humor into the D&D game, or they explicitly use humor to bring attention to the D&D experience (including the homebrew experience). --Green Dragon (talk) 10:10, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
- I will look further about pages where humor is built on the D&D game and in the meantime if others can help me understand what I would do about Little Pony (5e Race) so it isn't deleted. I don't think it is funny, but the template was placed as means the page wasn't to be taken as serious. Would my only option be, on D&D Wiki, move it to a userpage?
- and not to disregard the other comments, Quincy's comment drives my point;
It's clear that OP at least put some sincere effort into making the page, however misplaced, and that amount of effort should be recognized.
that mentality is what inspires me and motivates to use this site. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 10:23, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
- I intentionally kept the above definition vague. I assume that it would encompass the humor of "putting something out of place into a place where it somehow works". I assume that this is a common form of humor. --Green Dragon (talk) 10:37, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
- Going back to the original issue I had with the page, the Milathorongian_(5e_Race) serves the same purpose as the DualXYZ page, it isn't humorous and thus I believe it is either redundent content or an attempt to use the {{April Fools}} template to justify poor design/ questionable content, as it has been in the past. The compromise I see for that page would be moving it to one of the many subraces of the DualXYZ.
- Returning to the now, how are would implementing such a policy prevent the misuse of this template or prevent the it becoming the catch all for questionable content? —ConcealedLight (talk) 15:51, 14 March 2019 (MDT)
- I sure end up laughing reading the DuelSoulBlade Shadow Vampelf (5e Race). I agree that making the Milathorongian (5e Race) into a subrace for the DuelSoulBlade Shadow Vampelf would make it humorous.
- What options are we considering to regulate April Fools pages? --Green Dragon (talk) 00:12, 15 March 2019 (MDT)
Spring Cleaning
Are we putting {{delete}} on anything we think is garbage? Green Dragon PfD a page 2 hours after creation, Marasmusine is skipping right over {{needsbalance}} and putting {{delete}}. Did I miss a memo on how to handle things? I, and assume others, will get on board if that's the case and we can clean the site up much faster! ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 10:15, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
- Oh sorry! Which page did I do that on? I am trying to go through 5e Classes, but I obviously have not checked the history for each page. --Green Dragon (talk) 10:32, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
- Psychic Health (Mortal Kombat Supplement) & Hara Kiri (Mortal Kombat Supplement) are two I found right away but I think there's another example which I cannot find. I wasn't sure because the amount of {{delete}}s has increased, and not always following abandoned. I am not questioning the ones that have no information on them; this is easy to see why its proposed. I 'unno, was just curious though. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 11:37, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
- Right, I didn't know that they where supplement pages and one was basically scant rules, and then "commit suicide", and the other was a witness to the aforementioned act of suicide. Seemed like pages which warrant speedy deletion to me.
- We should never break our policies (otherwise, why did we make them and what kind of role models are we?) and it's great that your checking up on this. --Green Dragon (talk) 00:02, 14 March 2019 (MDT)
- Flame Dancer (5e Class) History is an example of a user contributing actively to a page and then getting a template. ConcealedLight has offered to create a DPL that will show pages that haven't been edited in the last 6 months to help with {{abandoned}} and {{delete}} placement. I'm not trying to nit pick; this example came up because the user brought it to our attention. Though, I do feel it wouldn't hurt to double check some of these template placements. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 07:22, 15 March 2019 (MDT)

User talk:SirSprinkles/Archive 3#Welcoming users has a conversation that sort of just stopped. A couple users weren't for it, and some were. Welcoming users is quite a task and a bot would significantly aid in that. I am not aware of the drawbacks for using the bot so maybe others can point out its faults? ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 13:08, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
- I don't see an issue with using one. —ConcealedLight (talk) 15:51, 14 March 2019 (MDT)
Email Help
Hello, I am trying to change my email address of record to my new D&D Wiki email address, but the form does not display correctly - it's not letting me put a new address in at all. See the attached picture for what I am seeing. I have tried to change some settings, reload the page, etc. And it still doesn't load correctly. Any help will be greatly appreciated. - This is a known issue; Blue Dragon said he’d look into it about a month ago but I don’t think we ever heard back after that. — Geodude (talk | contribs | email) . . 18:33, 17 March 2019 (MDT)

Amazon & Amazonian
Apologies for the excessive edits. I thought I was straigtening something out but then realized that it was same the page. I think I've reverted everything back to its original (original before my meddling) and added {{delete}} to the Amazonian as the {{WIP}} "expired" and it isn't its own thing yet. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 12:12, 21 March 2019 (MDT)
User Issue with Templates
I want to share a Tavern comment by a user since I don't think most check it out:
08:25, 8 April 2019 DeathBringer (talk | contribs | block): I don't join discords for online communities, but I need to get this message out, can someone please pass this along: If you are going to put a grammar template, don't add it if you aren't going to specify what is wrong. Also, if don't add it if it would be faster to fix it yourself.
08:28, 8 April 2019 DeathBringer (talk | contribs | block): and i mean more than just "capitalization errors." it would be great if you told us where the most work was needed, at least.
SgtLion would make this same point as well that users may not be aware of these issues so if you start listing them, you may as well fix them. I know its easier to tag something as capitalization errors and hope someone with more time fixes it but vague templates only help the people who know what they are looking for. ~ BigShotFancyMan 07:55, 8 April 2019 (MDT)
- This is why we are experienced users. Over time the applicability of users adding templates improves, and I could only respond to that user saying that we have experience and know when it's right to use a template, or when it's not useful for building collaboration. --Green Dragon (talk) 22:48, 8 April 2019 (MDT)
Broken Redirects
Is there a time to not delete broken redirects? ~ BigShotFancyMan 10:57, 12 April 2019 (MDT)
- I believe those can be speedily deleted. — Geodude (talk | contribs | email) . . 11:58, 12 April 2019 (MDT)
- Can confirm. - Guy 10:10, 23 April 2019 (MDT)
- I've taken care of those now. Sure was a lot easier back when we had a bot to do stuff like that for us. SirSprinkles (talk) 17:16, 24 April 2019 (MDT)
- Can confirm. - Guy 10:10, 23 April 2019 (MDT)

Naming a homebrew class
I recently made a class ( https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Lycanthrope,_Variant_(5e_Class) ), but thanks to an incomplete class by the same name I had to add variant to it's page name. Is there a way to change this completed class to have the non-variant page name or should I just move the page to "Lycanthropes" instead? Also first time submitting on here, how does one get a balance check for their class? Are the pages just reviewed over time or do we have to submit it somewhere? Foxfire94 20:15, 21 April 2019 (MDT)
- Okay, I moved the page. You can ask helpers on their user talk pages to review your work. --Green Dragon (talk) 08:50, 23 April 2019 (MDT)
Semi-Protection for a page
Would it be possible to get semi-protection on this page: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Lycanthrope_(5e_Class) ?
There was a slew of recent edits by an anonymous user that jumbled up several class features, left comments in the class and added unnecessary elements too. --Foxfire94 (talk) 19:40, 29 April 2019 (MDT)
- Done. --Green Dragon (talk) 08:55, 30 April 2019 (MDT)
Going to join this conversation because a recent edit to the Latis (5e) page made me realize I need protection for those pages - both that and the third edition page as well. Latius (talk) 00:12, 26 May 2019 (MDT)
- Bleh, the links I didn't do right, but I can see you have done the 5e one already, Green Dragon. Latius (talk) 00:14, 26 May 2019 (MDT)
- Thanks for bringing these pages to my attention. --Green Dragon (talk) 23:42, 26 May 2019 (MDT)
Request for semi-protection for Grave Knight (5e Class). There's an anonymous user that seems insistent of making lots of features much more powerful, breaking the balance. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by CookieLink (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- That page has been protected by anonymous edits, and in the future if a situation like this arises again, please try and contact an admin to deal with the situation so the situation does not devolve into an edit war. Thanks --Blobby383b (talk) 12:25, 4 April 2020 (MDT)
Changing email
A user asked me about changing their email account and said that attempting to change the email at the Preferences tab resulted in the section didn't load properly. When I attempted to change my own email (to verify if the problem would also occur when I tried it), I encountered the same problem. SirSprinkles (talk) 02:12, 30 April 2019 (MDT)
Copying Copyrighted Work
on my talk page, User talk:BigShotFancyMan#Psion Edits someone isn't happy with my edits. I feel in their comment they admit to remarkable similarity to WotC UA Mystic material. I've seen websites slightly alter 1st party material in order to share it and claim they didn't copy the work but I find this a gray I don't want part in. Even in my own rule variant for Arcane Archer Arcane Archer Arcane Shot (5e Class Feature) I don't reveal what the feature does. If Green Dragon or the smarter and better part of the community thinks the user's Mystic Variant is okay, then anyone feel free to undo my edits. ~ BigShotFancyMan 08:01, 1 May 2019 (MDT)
- I would guide the users to our copyright policy. "You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource. Do not submit copyrighted work without permission!" --Green Dragon (talk) 22:31, 7 May 2019 (MDT)
Can't find my created homebrew class
I created a homebrew class (https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Reishi_(5e_Class) but it isn't appearing with the rest of the classes on the class page. Can anyone assist me with that? Also, what did I do wrong to avoid this in the future? Thanks, (Croimandias (talk) 07:39, 7 May 2019 (MDT) = Croimandias 9:30, 07 May 2019 (EST))
- It shows up for me (you did forget the summary though). Have you tried to refresh 5e Classes (refresh tab)? --Green Dragon (talk) 09:11, 7 May 2019 (MDT)
- Thanks a ton! That did the trick! Croimandias (talk) 13:25, 7 May 2019 (MDT) = Croimandias 15:23, 07 May 2019 (EST))
