Oath of Order[edit]

The Oath of Order binds a paladin to the loftiest ideals of justice, virtue, and order. Sometimes called cavaliers, white knights, or holy warriors, these paladins meet the ideal of the knight in shining armor, acting with honor in pursuit of justice and the greater good. They hold themselves to the highest standards of conduct, and some, for better or worse, hold the rest of the world to the same standards. Many who swear this oath are devoted to gods of law and good and use their gods' tenets as the measure of their devotion. They hold angels–the perfect servants of good—as their ideals, and incorporate images of angelic wings into their helmets or coats of arms.

Tenets of Order

Though the exact words and strictures of the Oath of Order vary, paladins of this oath share these tenets.

Alch-mae-tyr, the Trinity[edit]

Alchmaetyr is an unusual god, not the least of which owing to its composite nature. Alchmaetyr is, in truth, a trinity three lesser dieties known as Alch, Mae, and Tyr, each of whom is responsible for a single domain in the god's portfolio. Though the specifics of this relashionship has yet to be determined, the theory accepted by most scholars is that Alchmaetyr freely splits into and reassembles from the lesser trio in a manner similar to a god creating an aspect or avatar from a portion of their divine essense. Alch, Mae, and Tyr are distinct in appearence, personality, and skillset, yet they work in unspoken unison. Regarding divine rank, Alchmaetyr resides in the high tiers of lesser dieties (a rank 18 greater diety by 3rd edition standards) whereas Alch, Mae, and Tyr all fall in the lower tiers of lesser dieties (rank 10 lesser dieties by 3rd edition standards). Alchmaetyr is a sexless, genderless god whose form is depicted simply and with few features as a rule. The consistencies in these depictions paint a humanoid figue around the size of the average titan. It communicates in a serene, unemotional manner, displaying little to no change in demenour when prompted to happiness, anger, suprise, sadness, and so on.

Alch[edit]

Alch is the aspect of Alchmaetyr given domain over Trash. He is by far the most social of the trinity, delivering the brunt of their directives to followers and serving as their de-facto representative when other higher powers seek a parley.

K, the Wasteland[edit]

K is the divine realm of Alchmaetyr and, as its title suggests, a land that is swamped by filth, debries, and trash. It is the self-proclaimed dumping ground for the universe, gladly accepting anything and anyone given to it. K has a rather unique reputation for being at the top of the list of planes for ease of entry and the top of the list for difficulty of escape. Just as far as knowledge of Alchmaetyr and K spreads, so to spreads the god's simoltanous invitation and warning: "You may give away anything, and you may take back nothing."

In the Forgotten Realms cosmos, K is located in the Othrys layer of Carceri of the Great Wheel Cosmology, in the Neutral Planes of the World Tree Cosmology, and in the Astral Sea of the World Axis Cosmology.

Special Features[edit]

Though each of K's three layers have their own rules and features, there a few facts that are universal to the plane. Directed Travel. K is physically isolated from all other planes and can only be reached via magic such as Plane Shift or a planar vehicle. No standard planar portals to K exist. Those who attempt to travel to K arrive in the Welcoming Chamber of The Patchwork Palace in One no matter their intended destination or means of travel (with the exception of Discard Waste (5e spell) and Waste Chute (5e spell)). No Take-backs. All matter that enters K (outside of the Welcoming chamber) is prevented from exiting the plane by any means without the express permission of Alchmaetyr. This rule can be circumvented by a Wish spell or divine intervention, though it should be noted that Alchmaetyr's response to such an action would be swift and ferociously violent.

Layers[edit]

One[edit]

One is a vast plains of trash. All manner of refuse, sewage, junk, and filth pile in layer after layer atop whatever ground may have existed in a time long past. The literal tons of trash that enter One by the second are dropped randomly across the land by some unseen force, the distribution maintaining a vaguely flat surface. The sky is dominated by a gray fog drifting miles above. Though no sources of light can be found, the layer dims and brightens in a night-and-day cycle that spans 30 hours between peak darkness and peak brightness. Physics acts on the same rules that the material plane does with one notable exception to the law of buoyancy: in One, all gasses sink below liquids and solids. This is a mercy to to creatures with sensitive noses, as they would

A tower of emerald and silver rises from the center of One into the sky and past the fog, visible from any point in the layer. The trash

Creatures of all sorts can be found . Those with sensitive noses gas goes down always filthy

Waste Chute[edit]

|name=Waste Chute |school=Conjuration |ritual=yes |lvl=3rd |casttime=1 minute |range=10 feet |comp=V, S |dur=8 hours |summary=You open a one-way portal to K, the Wasteland (5e environment) in an unoccupied space within range. |nocategory=yes }}

You open a one-way portal to K, the Wasteland (5e environment) in an unoccupied space within range. The portal can be as small as 1 foot in diameter and as big as 10 feet in diameter. You can orient it in any direction you choose.

The front of the portal peers into a cloud of gray fog, and the back of the portal is a featureless surface of the same gray. Any creatures and objects that enter the portal from the front vanish from sight and appear 1d4 times 10 feet in a random unoccupied space above the surface in of One, the first layer of K. Creatures and objects that contact the front of the portal unintentionally (such as by tripping, being knocked into it, or accidentally falling into it) are repelled as if the surface was solid. This makes it impossible to physically force a creature or sentient object through the portal, although it does not prevent trickery, intimidation, or mind control from doing so by proxy.

This spell fails if cast within K.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the duration changes according the spell level: 24 hours for 4th level, 1 week for 5th level, 1 month for 6th level, 1 year for 7th level, 10 years for 8th level, and the portal lasts until dispelled for 9th level. In addition, the maximum diameter of the portal increases by 5 feet for each slot level above 3rd.
