Magic Items (Grisaire Supplement)

From D&D Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

This page contains special magic items unique to Grisaire. They are not as epic as treasures and can be more commonly found. Cursed objects are also listed here, which are also of the more common sort, as opposed to false macguffins. Lore written here may overwrite or expand on lore written on respective item pages.

  • Soul grenades are special explosives, classified as wondrous items. For the purposes of DnD 5e, they are considered magic weapons despite thematically being nonmagical. They appear as luminous orbs of bluish white stuff, almost like colorless gas within a glass and metal sphere as big as the hand. These are very special arms created by the Anti-Magic League. Originally, they were an exercise to show the power of an individual soul, which was supposed to encourage research into soul energy, as opposed to continued reliance on arcana. Now, they are a tool that terrorists from the League use to prove their allegiance in extremist acts of suicide. Soul grenades are normally not active, and require charging with one's soul in order to use.

Cursed Items[edit]

  • Saw collars are not necessarily always magical and have been able to be replicated with machinery. However, the magical versions of these collars remain a popular choice for torturing and executing prisoners
  • Finger snippers are special rings created by a sadistic arcane researcher within the Gilt Society used to punish thieves. Spellcasters who have all their fingers, and sometimes toes, cut off by these rings are no longer able to fulfill somatic components.
