After being told by his master that his next training would be to travel the world, Goku deigned to use this opportunity to search for his grandpa Gohan's Four-Star Dragon Ball. Through a series of events regarding a treaty between Nam and Giran's villages and Pilaf's continued schemes, Goku found his way back to the great village of the Ox King. After accidentally marrying the princes, a girl his own age named Chi-Chi who was no stronger than Videl, in nearby meadow, they returned to find the entire village being raided by Red Ribbon's very own Colonel Silver. Waging a one-man war against them to recover their Dragon Balls, Goku eventually had a runin with the great Mercenary Tao, who killed Bora, the father of his newest friend Upa. After steamrolling their organization, including a fortuitous win against the mercenary, who was Red Ribbon's greatest asset, Goku was unable to find the next Dragon Ball. With the help of Yamcha and Krillin, Goku powered through Fangs, See-Through, Bandages, and even Spike the Devil Man. As his final foe, he faced a mysterious masked man who was none other than his adoptive father. After a bout where Goku lost his tail yet again, he was given the information he seeked, the Four-Star Dragon Ball was still aboard Pilaf's ship in a lead box. As the wish to resurrect Bora was completed, Goku took hold of his ball, being dragged off to continue his adventures for three years until the day of the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. |
