Formatting

Syntax can be very difficult, and if you need help a good place to start is Help:Editing on Wikipedia (or even their Introduction page). Help:Portal also provides detailed explanation of information important specifically to this community.

Yo, Um so question why'd you ungut the astartes class?[edit]

Talk:Heroic Spirit (5e Class)[edit]

Since you seem to be a large part in why the thing is still locked, could I possibly get you to voice your opinions here? I, personally, am not hankering to start working on the thing, but it seems like other people might be. I’d just like to see the thing worked on again. So? Can I? --SwankyPants (talk) 11:16, 28 March 2021 (MDT)

Barnstar[edit]

Hello there Lavie, I wanted to properly thank you for all the helpful edits you have made to fix up various homebrew pages on the wiki and for helping create a large number of reference pages. Every person doing there best to fix problems they see really does help a lot. Whatever your next plans are on the wiki, I wish you the best of luck on them. --Blobby383b (talk) 17:58, 25 May 2021 (MDT)

Delete My Contributions Please[edit]

"Deletion Put the delete tag on the pages you want deleted, not the talk pages. --Lavie (talk) 20:05, 28 June 2021 (MDT)"

When I go to edit the page, it won't let me. It has a bunch of different troll writing appear about Bill or Billy, and I don't even see the indicator bar show up when I click on the editor text. I even posted that when I try to edit my page to put the tag in, it doesn't let me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NightingaleZK (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

Thank you![edit]

Hi, Rushfire here. I saw that you went through the spell pages for my Battlemage class and cleaned up their text pages. I appreciate it very much & just wanted to say thank you! Rushfire (talk) 10:59, 20 July 2021 (MDT)

Thanks![edit]

Though its not done yet, I wanted to thank you for helping me with the Gravekeeper class, as that is my first ever wiki entry I wrote/write and im very thankful for you cleaning up the mess that was that page (or still is). --OneAndOnlyPixel (talk) 16:29, 13 August 2021 (MDT)

Questions about the Death Knight, 3rd Variant[edit]

Lavie, what's up? I wanted to ask you what's the purpose of removing the delete template of that article? The article was abandoned for over a year, and the solely reason i wanted to create an article with the opposite concept in the first place was to remove a pointless article from the wiki. Clearly that article was ignored previously, so i don't see the point. Anastacio (talk) 12:55, 23 August 2021 (MDT)

I moved the 4th variant over to the 3rd. --Lavie (talk) 13:12, 23 August 2021 (MDT)

Oh, got it. So you are doing the Lord's work then, sir!

Thanks For The Edit[edit]

Hi, it's Fumbi. I noticed you helped out cleaning and links on my homebrew class. I am quite new to posting here so that really helped. Though my spell casting was meant to be custom, but I guess the change is fine. A little confusion on the unsigned note when I didn't talk about anything there. Just trying to format and categorize any messages in the future. Either way, it was nice of you to help. Fumbi (talk) 11:43, 31 August 2021 (MDT)

Excellent edits![edit]

Heya, just wanted to say that I appreciate and respect the effort you put into cleaning up the Binder page; I hadn't even considered migrating the spellcasting to the initial binder table. So, thanks for that! And I do like the small change you made to Sacred Seal, since it feels more faithful to clerics. Overall, great edits! And thanks again. Defensorpacis (talk) 12:47, 6 September 2021 (EST)

Linking Outside of D&D Wiki[edit]

I noticed that, in many of the Last Airbender classes that I've made, you removed spells that were linked to sites outside of D&D Wiki. Is there a particular rule stating that you shouldn't link to material outside of this wiki? If so, could you give me a link to see said rule? If not, what was your reasoning for removing those spells? WiserVisor (talk) 10:11, September 16 2021

https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Help:D%26D_Links#5th This page has the only acceptable links for D&D 5th edition content. Any others, such as dndbeyond, are not allowed. --Lavie (talk) 11:15, 16 September 2021 (MDT)

Edits by anonymous users[edit]

Lavie, I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm, but please ensure that you read through changes made by anonymous or new users before reverting them wholesale - more often than not, they can be beneficial to a page. Try to only revert if the edits had a negative impact on the page. Despite the trouble we've been having lately from certain anonymous users, we still want to keep the wiki community open and welcoming. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 09:44, 24 September 2021 (MDT)

Editing Pages[edit]

As I was building a class, you edited it in the middle and it deleted almost everything I've done. Please don't touch my pages. I will add the disclamers myself. --Artif (talk) 17:58, 2 October 2021 (MDT)

I didn't delete it. It was an edit conflict. It happens. --Lavie (talk) 17:59, 2 October 2021 (MDT)

I know. Thats why im saying, Don't edit them. --Artif (talk) 18:02, 2 October 2021 (MDT)

Deletion Templates[edit]

Hi Lavie, I'm dreadfully sorry to bother you but I just wanted to point out real quick that you are using the {{Delete}} template incorrectly. The correct format is {{Delete|~~~~~|(insert your reason why here)}}, where using the five tildes creates a timestap of when the deletion template was added. I think what you're doing is using four tildes instead, which leaves your signature with your username on the page instead of a timestap. It's not really a big deal but it does matter because pages are supposed to be deleted two weeks after the date the template was added, and leaving a timestap makes it easier for the staff to tell if that time limit has expired or not. Just some editing advice! Quincy (talk) 14:11, 3 October 2021 (MDT)

Thanks.[edit]

Thanks for deleting that rude stub AcidRat put on my Akura`m Soldier page. --User:MythicActions2000

Thanks.[edit]

Thanks for taking care of my Dragovian race that's a bit outdated with the newer sorc meta magic lol. I appreciate you deleting silly OP buffs and changes. --User:Ecthaelion

Protection of user page[edit]

In light of what appears to be targeted harassment, would you like your user page to be protected from edits by anonymous users? I'd be willing to perform it, just say the word. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 20:17, 20 October 2021 (MDT)

Yes please. --Lavie (talk) 20:46, 20 October 2021 (MDT)

Editing Page[edit]

I'm trying to add features to a class that is missing 5 levels worth of features. Please stop blatantly removing everything I do. The class features are not strong. Its clear you have some sort of grudge against me, but why cant you let me even add to pages? The creator of the page even said you can add to this page as you wish. --Artif (talk) 17:21, 29 October 2021 (MDT)

I have no grudge. Classes typically don't gain class features at ASI levels or at levels where they gain access to spells of 3rd level or higher. The page is missing no features for a fullcaster either.--Lavie (talk) 17:26, 29 October 2021 (MDT)

You clearly do, because you only change pages when I edit them. After I read that, I found 3 other pages gaining class features at ASI levels and 3rd level spells, within a minute. The page didn't have 5 levels worth of class features, yet you mark my class pages as incomplete because I didn't have 2? --Artif (talk) 17:37, 29 October 2021 (MDT)

Why are you so insanely stuck in the rulebook? Isn't the purpose of homebrew so you can make anything you want? Why does everything have to fall in line with you definitions? If I want a class to gain a feature at ASI levels, why cant it? --Artif (talk) 17:39, 29 October 2021 (MDT)

I have no grudge. Link those pages with the needsbalance template and someone will deal them. I have edited pages you have never touched as well. I would advise you stop acting like a child and realize that there are rules to balancing classes. Yours had no stub or work in progress templates. They are not my definitions, they are the rules set about by WOTC with their classes. --Lavie (talk) 17:41, 29 October 2021 (MDT)

Making contributions[edit]

I do appreciate your contribution, however - reverting without commenting doesn't really work for a work flow. (Ranger/Slayer subclass variant for the subclass) do you want to discuss that, or should I view the change/reversion efforts disruptive/trolling? --Modnar (talk) 09:21, 2 November 2021 (MDT)

I said what I said. State that the feature replaces the favored enemy base ranger class feature on the subclass page, instead of on the variant rule page. It makes much more sense this way. --Lavie (talk) 09:35, 2 November 2021 (MDT)

Delate Feats?[edit]

I see you want to delate 2 of my Feats, i understand it by Scales of bahamut becosue of the changes other people do it´s similar to the feat you show, but Armor of Bahamut isnt like this they ae 2 absolutely different Feats. --ShieldingPaladin7 (talk) 20:49, 11 November 2021 (MDT)

thank you[edit]

I am happy that you helped. Redrum (talk) 18:22, 17 November 2021 (MST)

Barnstar for anti vandalism[edit]

Anti-Vandal Barnstar.png Anti-Vandal Barnstar
Lavie, I would personally like to thank you for helping me deal with vandalism on the Dungeons and Dragons Wiki, ranging from reverting vandalism when I see it on other people's articles to reverting vandalism when you see it on my page, thank you very much Leíf (talk) 06:58, 24 November 2021 (MST)

Boon Prereqs[edit]

While I get that the DMG boons don't carry any prerequisites, I don't see why literally no other boon can have them because of that, and those based on the prereq cannot exist on the wiki.

The way I see it, it doesn't cause any problems to have them. Doesn't cause balance issues, namely. Having them also allows for more potential boons, and trying to integrate boons that would improve class features sounds like a nightmare, otherwise.

Either way, |prereq is part of the template.

I'm curious as to why you insist on all this. --SwankyPants (talk) 21:32, 27 November 2021 (MST)

Seeing as you haven't responded, I'm just going to remove those deletion templates and revert the other major changes. --SwankyPants (talk) 07:58, 7 December 2021 (MST)

Thank you for fixing the Gambler![edit]

Hey Lavie,

thank you for cleaning up my mess with the Gambler archetypes and correcting a few mistakes! Looks way better now and is easier to read like this. Just saw the change and I am very happy with it!
