Components: | V,S |
Duration: | Until the start of your next turn |
As a reaction to being hit by an attack, you can call forth a shield of protective force to envelop you. The shield provides temporary hit points equal to your spellcasting ability modifier + twice your spellcasting level (minimum of 1). The temporary hit points last until the start of your next turn.
If an attack would deal damage equal to or less than the temporary hit points provided by the shield, the damage is negated. Any negative effects of the attack are also negated if the damage is negated. If an attack would deal damage greater than the temporary hit points, the damage is reduced by the amount of temporary hit points remaining, and any remaining negative effects still apply.
Once you cast this spell, you can't cast it again until you finish a long rest.
