Character Creation (Bloodborne Supplement)[edit]

We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open... Fear the old blood. — Provost Willem

The world of Bloodborne is filled with hunters, eldritch horrors, and nightmarish creatures. A hunter is not simply a warrior; they are a relentless predator, a survivor of the Hunt, and an entity standing between humanity and its impending doom.

This supplement provides unique mechanics for creating a hunter, with custom progression, abilities, and lore-driven choices that differentiate them from standard D&D adventurers.

Hunters have incredible martial prowess, deadly agility, and heightened senses. However, their struggle is not just against beasts but against the slow descent into madness and corruption.

Class[edit]

All players begin as a hunter, a specialized class that embodies speed, skill, and resilience. Unlike traditional D&D classes, hunters have a more streamlined base progression, relying on their subclass to define their unique fighting style and philosophy.

A hunter’s training, combat techniques, and use of eldritch knowledge define their approach to the Hunt.

Hunter

The base class of all hunters, focusing on speed, precision, and adaptability in combat.

Races[edit]

The majority of Bloodborne’s world consists of humans, but certain entities are blessed or cursed by eldritch influences. Your race determines your origins and resistance to the horrors of the Hunt.

Human

The standard race, adaptable and versatile. Hunters who were once ordinary people.

Vileblood

A cursed lineage of nobles who drink forbidden blood. Gains affinity with blood-based abilities and unique resistances.

Beast-Blooded

Individuals tainted by the blood of beasts. Gains enhanced physical attributes but risks bestial transformation.

Great One Kin

Mortals who have glimpsed the eldritch truth. Gains affinity with arcane forces and higher lucidity effects.

Backgrounds[edit]

A hunter’s past shapes their approach to the Hunt. Each background grants unique bonuses, roleplaying depth, and skill proficiencies.
