A being touched by the Great Ones, [1]

Great One Kin are beings that have transcended human limitations, touched by the eldritch influence of the Great Ones. While some were once human, their exposure to cosmic forces has altered them irreversibly. Their bodies are often elongated, their limbs unnatural, their flesh pallid and alien. Some develop additional eyes across their bodies, while others emit an eerie luminescence. No two Kin are alike, as their transformations are influenced by the unknowable whims of the Great Ones.

Many Kin lose their sense of mortality, seeing themselves as something beyond human comprehension. Their speech becomes distant, their emotions muted, and their perception of reality altered. While their minds expand to grasp forbidden knowledge, they often struggle to relate to the world they once belonged to.

History[edit]

Few mortals ever ascend to the ranks of the Kin. Those who do are either born from forbidden experiments, transformed through rituals involving eldritch blood, or granted knowledge that reshapes their existence. The Healing Church sought to achieve this apotheosis through blood ministration, yet only a handful of individuals ever neared true transcendence. The Great Ones, beings beyond time and space, see the Kin as their offspring—though whether this is an honor or a curse remains unknown.

Kin are rarely accepted in human society, as their presence alone warps the minds of lesser beings. Some are hunted as abominations, while others choose to isolate themselves in pursuit of cosmic truth.

Great One Kin Names[edit]

Kin retain the names they had before their transformation, though many adopt titles reflecting their newfound existence, such as "Seeker of Eyes," "Daughter of the Cosmos," or "Emissary."
