Vehicles (Air Ride Machines)[edit]
Canonically, in the Kirby franchise, the most commonly used form of transportation is Air Ride Machines, with the most commonly used ones being the Warp Star and Wheelie Bike. Normally, these machines are created by and for beings who stand at a height of 20 centimeters, but by using relative proportions, they can be made for beings of greater size, like people who have a relatively normal height of 2 meters.
Of course, when these small machines that are already capable of great speed are enlarged, the speeds at which they reach tend to exceed the limits of imagination.
Stars[edit]
While Warp Stars can be built, a certain species can simply create an infinite amount of them from their bodies, often through sheer manifestation of positive concepts like dreams, friendship, and love. As such, only good-hearted and good-intentioned individuals can ride Air Ride Machines created in this fashion. Warp Stars can alter their size to allow one rider to fly atop it, to up to five riders in total, to also be able to be carried in one's pocket.
Warp Stars, like any other Air Ride Machine, fly their riders through the sky and outer space; they can be steered by thought alone, often expelling stardust behind them as they go and making a whirring, warbling, twinkling noise. However, while it can be controlled by thought, the Warp Stars can be said to have some form of sentience, since their riders often motion to their machines to change course during dangerous situations.
Novices and youngsters aren't very good at landing them and they have a tendency to violently crash land, sending the riders flying and destroying the Warp Star in the process into nothing but stardust and energy. Luckily, a Warp Star can collect itself and begin recovering itself. Assuming that a Warp Star cannot be created and replaced by one's own person, it can either be placed down in sanctuaries and refuges to rest and repair itself, or be carried around so that one could reliably have it on hand, but it will recover slower. If a rider left their Warp Star at a certain location, riders could use a cellular device to call the Warp Star to their location, or to warp to the Warp Star's location.
Warp Stars can also fire star-shaped projectiles in order to weaponize their good-hearted nature. They can only fire in front of the driver. An alternative form of offense employed by riders is ramming their stars into opponents, as well as the environment around them, barreling through walls easily.
In times of necessity, Warp Stars can bend reality and warp in order to travel through spacetime to arrive in new locations or to avoid certain disasters, but they can only do this when given enough time to build speed.
Even if their ability to warp was neutered, they are still capable of flying extremely long distances on short notice. If their ability to fly was neutered or simply prohibited, stars still exhibit the ability to glide long distances if they manage to get in the air at all, either through a ramp or whatever else.
Wheelies[edit]
Wheelies are an alternative form of travel often used by those who are not members of the race that can create stars, are not friends with any of them to gain access to one, or are too wicked to use one anyway. Wheelies are sapient motorized unicycles that are capable of high-speed travel, and can sometimes exceed that of Stars, but are incapable of flying.
Like Stars, the rider of a Wheelie can also fire star-shaped projectiles; they can also fire them in any direction. This means that when driving in one direction, the rider can fire to the side and behind themselves to defend against a pursuing creature. A more common form of offense employed by riders is simply ramming their Wheelies into their targets.
