In the canonical Kirby franchise, each game taking place on Planet Popstar takes place in locations that are similar, but different. This likely stems from the developers' need to make it unique every entry, even if the theming of each level is similar to those prior. However, those old locations are not retconned or dismissed, as they are brought back occasionally.

This campaign setting instead strives to incorporate as many aspects from as many parts of the franchise into one. This setting intends to recreate Popstar as a large, connected world.
