You, with the support of others, have accomplished something very wonderful for this wiki. The homebrew/official banners are established, and people can stop losing their minds over the matter. People now have only themselves to blame for their own misunderstandings. I can not thank you enough for going through the tangle of code necessary to make that happen. --Kydo (talk) 06:09, 3 June 2017 (UTC) |

hi
Hi, not sure if you noticed but when you edited the spell list thing -hasn't been here for even a month yet- i noticed that there are a lot more 5e shadowknight classes in the spell listings xo) also typing this mainly for the reason of saying hi I'm bigdaddy881 for the sake of introducing myself (ox --Bigdad881 (talk) 06:49, 28 July 2017 (MDT)

hey so i cant post my class features and abilities for some reason and need help...im trying to get this to post... level one the gear sailor gains the ability known as "Rigging Knot" taking you full turn to do this the gear sailor ties a rigging knot to a vehicle and attaches it to the gear sailors belt, while this is active the gear sailor gains advantage check on athletics and acrobatics, this does not stop until the knot is untied,or cut and takes one full turn to do so. however the gear sailor must have rope on him or her to do this and they can only move the max feet of the length of the rope. Bots Gone Wild!!!
So hey, SgtLionBot's chugging along and doing its job marvelously - except for a tiny hitch. The bot's protected my Prismatic (3.5e Equipment) and Prismatic Burst (3.5e Equipment) pages as "SRD OGL Content". I'm happy as a clam that the bot thinks my creations worthy, but they're not part of the System Reference Document. There might be some official content by that name, but these are not them :D Cancelion (talk) 14:19, 7 September 2017 (MDT)
- Hello. The pages have been fixed and unprotected. Please review that they use the proper 3.5e magic item templates. The reason the bot protected them was that you used an SRD footer, which categorized them as being in the SRD. Thank you for bringing this to our attention :) --GamerAim (talk) 14:33, 7 September 2017 (MDT)
Looking over 3e
Hello, could you also look over the 3e SRD:Animated Object (all 7), 3e SRD:Arrowhawk (all 3), 3e SRD:Barghest and 3e SRD:Barghest, Greater pages? I forgot to ask you the other day.--GamerAim (talk) 16:34, 10 September 2017 (MDT)
- Alrighty, fixed a few typos and whatnot. The only thing I'm slightly uncomfortable with is 3e_SRD:Arrowhawk,_Adult. I've changed the entries as per how I'm reading the document, including changing the Juvenile's +7 to +10, but it doesn't seem right to me that the Juvenile has +10 Search and the Elder has +18 Search while the adult has no search bonus, so I submit to your greater wisdom on that one. --SgtLion (talk) 02:01, 11 September 2017 (MDT)

Arcane Warrior deleted
One player of my group plays an Arcane Warrior from https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Arcane_Warrior_(5e_Class) that is actually deleted. The problem is that my player has to level up soon and there is no access to information about his class. I understand that the class was not balanced, but I personally don't care enough to force my player to change his class. I want to know if it is possible to have access to the Arcane Warrior class (maybe you can send it to me by e-mail: saarthel@gmail.com). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.80.57.208 (talk • contribs) . Abomination Class
Hey there! I have seen your comment on the discussion page and left an answer as well as editing the class so that it has strict formulations now. Since it doesn't seem like you noticed it I just wanted to leave a reply here. I tried to explain everything the best I could and of course I am further open for your thoughts on the whole class. Let's make this class well balanced and working together! If you don't mind that is... --Asriel (talk)
- Hey, thanks for responding. I always have time for people who can be bothered to talk about these things. I'm not sure I have much to offer in terms of making the class; As I said, my knowledge of 5e really is minimal. I'll help however I can, and probably enlist somebody else who actually knows 5e to looksie. --SgtLion (talk) 06:47, 22 November 2017 (MST)
- Wow, that's some nice news to hear! Feel free to look over it whenever you feel like it again tho and I would be glad if you comment on what you noticed regarding balance. I have applied a lot of changes, regarding your comments as well. All in all I still need to work on the other two Manifestations beside Lycanthrope but I am glad you helped!

Im so lost
Alright. To begin this message, I’d like to state that this is my first time ever messaging someone. I ended up getting chewed out for deleting the comments on my class. I had no idea we were supposed to keep them. I’m very new to creating classes and just made my account a couple days ago. What confuses me is how I had “intimidating behavior” or how I was “frustrated”. I honestly have no idea where that came from. As you probably have seen, I recently made a class named “The Biggest Terry”. This started as an inside joke. My friend’s first class ever made was called “Big Terry” and he was a mage. However, due to a bias DM, he surpassed all of the rest of the party in xp, items, and wealth. Now our DM asked us to make or find an op class on homebrew. And so I realized this might be the time I can share both an inside joke and a funny class to the public. So I created “The Biggestt Terry” and I think my friends will get a kick out of it. I don’t want to be mean and I don’t know how I have but I’d like to keep my class on homebrew. Also, I’ve added a disclaimer stating it’s op and shouldn’t ever be used in normal gameplay. And to add to that, I think it’s a very fun class to play. With multiple abilities every level, it’ll constantly give the player something to look foward to. So yeah, I’m just a bit confused is all. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BalancedDruid (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- I think the issue isn't your page, "The Biggest Terry", per se, the issue is that you edited one of Geodude671's userpages (User:Geodude671/WIP/3) after he'd already gone on record saying that editing another user's userspace is a breach of behavioral policy (see User talk:97.84.85.175). Since he had reasonable issues with your class, whether you intended to or not your edits on Geodude's page could easily have been perceived as malicious. Quincy (talk) 19:38, 30 November 2017 (MST)
- Hi BalancedDruid - Sorry I didn't make it clear enough. The block was indeed due to your vandalising of pages on Geodude671's user pages, as Quincy has rightly said. Being hostile to other users is not well tolerated, even if it had somehow been 'justified'. I know you're having a hard time of it, and thank you for messaging me and being open and polite about the issue.
- I don't blame you for removing the templates - I've personally argued that I don't think the improvement (and especially deletion) templates should be placed on articles while they're still being created. I realise the inside joke and fun aspect of the class, that's nice enough, and the creativity behind the abilities. The issue with the class is that, design disclaimer or no, we do have standards that content should adhere to, otherwise things quickly become a bigger mess. My suggestion to anyone wanting to play a class and get new, exciting, multiple abilities per level, is to play with Gestalt variant rules, or just level up twice at a time, or use one of the many other variant rules. Hosting classes of varying power without any empirical standard makes it pretty much unusable to others, as they don't know how strong "strong" is until they stop having fun.
- As such - No hard feelings. The block was merely preventative to stop you vandalising pages. The article will have to adhere to dandwiki standards, and will eventually be deleted/edit if it doesn't. If there's anything I can do to help you, either in explaining or doing something, do let me know. --SgtLion (talk) 01:43, 1 December 2017 (MST)
- Note that we do provide some leniency towards classes marked as Template:April Fools, which I believe your class could qualify as, but last I saw, it still looked poorly-organized. You've plenty of time to try cleaning it up, and if you do, I'm sure it could be a very funny part of Category:April Fools.--GamerAim (talk) 08:03, 1 December 2017 (MST)
- I find that guidelines would be rather appropriate. If someone could write a draft version, then we can begin to discuss them. --Green Dragon (talk) 09:15, 1 December 2017 (MST)
- Thank you a ton for the clarification. I’ve been working on making my April fools class much cleaner and easier to understand. In addition to that, I think I can explain the vandalation I did to a class. My friend ( who happened to actually be the same friend who played as Big Terry) is also making a class. He was confused how to make it and actually began to edit one that was already created. He asked me how I created mine. After explaining, he asked me to go online and help edit his class. I had no idea I was editing someone’s else’s class. So I’m super sorry about that whole thing —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BalancedDruid (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
OGC Banner
The OGC namespace has been added, but I cannot seem to get the banner to work diff. What am I doing wrong? --Green Dragon (talk) 22:44, 1 January 2018 (MST)
- The commas, dear GD. The goshdarned commas! Bane of my CSS life! At least, that's my guess. I'll just check. --SgtLion (talk) 03:10, 2 January 2018 (MST)
- That seems to work. Whoop. --SgtLion (talk) 03:11, 2 January 2018 (MST)
- Since we're already discussing the OGC banner here, could we also discuss changes to the wording? I don't have any ideas right now besides changing "Official" to "Unofficial" and IDK what to say instead of "Open Game License Page" but that sounds sort of misleading as well (the page itself does not contain our OGL).--GamerAim (talk) 07:04, 2 January 2018 (MST)
- I agree with GamerAim. Calling the OGC 'official' will likely lead to confusion. Though I too find it hard to know what to put in place. Maybe use 'Third-Party Content (Page?)' instead of 'Open Game License Page'? All the pages comes with license notices anyhow. --SgtLion (talk) 07:25, 2 January 2018 (MST)
- How is File:OGC Banner.jpg worded now? --Green Dragon (talk) 11:44, 2 January 2018 (MST)

Reaper of Chronepsis
Got on the wiki for the first time in years (ugh, school) and saw the Shadow Walk you came up with for that class, it's a good fit. I'm curious, though, I was looking through the revisions and saw that you'd removed a provision that the class would only be able to use that ability a number of times per day equal to their wisdom modifier. I just worried that without the limit, they essentially always move double speed and avoid attacks of opportunity, and that might be a little on the powerful side (thought I suppose it's an 18th level ability, so it should be powerful). And thought while I was voicing that concern, I'd say "Hi." Hehe. Siubijeni (talk) 01:45, 6 March 2018 (MST)
- Oh, gosh, hiya. Lovely to hear back from you, hopefully school has been a blast for you. It was long ago, I can't say I actually remember any of my thoughts when editing that class, to be honest~ And that does sound like a valid concern. I'm happy to revisit and look it over sometime in the next couple weeks, but feel free to edit/revert anything you feel appropriate in the meantime. I just remember liking the thing too much to allow it to be deleted. --SgtLion (talk) 01:47, 6 March 2018 (MST)
- No worries, I understand there's a lot of back and forth on these things. School itself hasn't exactly been a blast, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Lot of progress on some other projects I hope to actually get some income from, though, working around school. Hoping to maybe finish the setting I started on here (though with revisions, as it has been quite a while and the setting it was based on has changed significantly) --Siubijeni (talk) 15:14, 6 March 2018 (MST)
- Ooh, neat. Aye, school can be a bore, but it sounds like you've interesting things going on, how cuuuurious~ I'd more than welcome your return to finishing content you've started; don't be afraid to get some articles back on their original track, if it seems a good way forward. I'll definitely have a look and a revisit to that content, soon. I'm happy to talk more here, but if the fancy takes you, feel free to hit me up on Discord/Steam/Skype/email/whatevs sometime, could be fun. --SgtLion (talk) 15:26, 6 March 2018 (MST)

The ConfirmEdit extension no longer supports the Proof-of-work puzzle, but the latest MediaWiki allows us to use NoCaptcha, which (theoretically) should stop ye spammers, and be a lot easier for our human users too. - Yeah. It's a little complicated.. We will be working on a better solution. As per the instructions, you should put in the solution to the equation presented (i.e. search "43 xor 153" on DuckDuckGo, and put in the solution that comes up (178 in this example)). --SgtLion (talk) 05:53, 24 July 2018 (MDT)

Autohide
I don't think that templates like Template:Design Disclaimer are working right. Their information is no longer hidden. Same goes for 3.5e Campaign Settings, and similar pages. --Green Dragon (talk) 10:35, 27 July 2018 (MDT)
- This is because the CSS classes 'collapsible' and 'colllapsed' have now been replaced with 'mw-collapsible' and 'mw-collapsed'. I've made the changes in Template:Design Disclaimer - I'll see if I can simply get my bot on replacing every instance, rather than manually going through tables ever-ee-where. --SgtLion (talk) 02:34, 28 July 2018 (MDT)
- This reminded me to update my bot for the new API, which works beautifully~ I'm also glad I chose to use the bot because it turns out we have hundreds of tables with those tags. Y'arr, she'll get the job done. --SgtLion (talk) 04:20, 28 July 2018 (MDT)
Hi SgtLion. I cannot get my 5e homebrew creature to be "complete."
I just today created my very first homebrew creature for this website, the Angler Frog. I love it and wish to share it with others and that is why I put it on the website. Sadly, the website lists it as "incomplete" yet doesn't point out where I went wrong or what I am missing. This is naturally very frustrating because I put in the work but am missing something and I cannot tell what that something is. Nothing is highlighted in red or directly pointed to. Can you look over the page for the Angler Frog and either fix it for me or tell me exactly what is wrong with it? If you do fix it, will you tell me exactly where I went wrong so I don't make the same mistake in the future? Is there any reason why this website doesn't just give fields to fill in like any other website rather that the one big message box where you have to be careful where you are putting the information as if you are a computer programmer or still using MSDOS commands?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Daskar (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- I'm not SgtLion, but... When you edit the page, you'll notice this at the top:
{{stub|Incomplete. See the [[5e Creature Design Guide]] if you need help.}}
- That's where the "incomplete" box is coming from. Remove that, and the incomplete box will be removed as well.- Guy (talk) 15:19, 28 July 2018 (MDT)
- Indeed, the answer to your question is as Guy said. I understand you're frustrated, but this is how MediaWikis function, and most people do get a grip of the basic syntax fairly quickly. Juggernaut (5e Class)
I have been trying to help balance and fix some of the abilities without destoying the classes flavor can someone look over what i have changed and point out some better ideas if they have them--Cryojoke (talk) 07:31, 30 July 2018 (MDT)cryojoke
- Looking over the changes it seems the needs balance template at the top is still largely relevant. If you have read through the Class Do's and Don'ts then I would recommend reading some of the other DnD Guidelines we have available in the Help:Portal. Looking at the class up close the issue with the class is that it possesses several game-breakingly powerful bonuses compared to the first party content, understanding bounded accuracy is a good way to solve this and helps understand how strong some of these bonuses should be. The 5e Class Design Guide is also an excellent read for anything class related as it covers some of the fundamentals of the design process. You can also increase the quality of your article early on by using Referencing as well as abiding by the Help:When to Italicize and Capitalize. Creating a fulling working class comparable to first-party content, can take months or even years and is one of the hardest things to do as far as homebrew goes. Best of luck! —ConcealedLight (talk) 07:56, 30 July 2018 (MDT)
