Shield of Stasis (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
1st-level Abjuration | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 10 ft. |
Components: | V, S, M (A working timepiece) |
Duration: | Concentration, up to 1 minute |
You conjure a square of stopped time directly in front of a creature within sight. The field of stasis covers a square 5 ft. x 5 ft. in area facing in any direction and lasts until its duration is up. Upon being shielded temporally, the target is made aware of the dimensions and orientation of the stasis shield, along with its being magical, though not its exact nature.
Any creatures, objects, substances, spells, and energies that come into contact with the square of stopped time are themselves stopped in time and functionally petrified, unable to be moved by an internal or external force. As well, velocity from before the target was put in stasis is applied while in stasis, and any energy or velocity exerted on a victim in stasis is applied all at once when the shield of stasis dissipates.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, concentration is no longer required.
