Chakra. Kawaki has 72 chakra points which he can expend. All chakra points are regained at the end of a long rest.

Evasion/Endurance. When Kawaki is targeted by an area effect that lets him make a Dexterity or Constitution saving throw to take only half damage, such as fireball, he instead takes no damage if he succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if he fails the save.

Ninja Speed. Kawaki can take the dash, dodge, and disengage actions as a bonus action, and can move along vertical surfaces.

Microscopic Scientific Ninja Tools. At will for 2 chakra, Kawaki may create any one piece of equipment, three thrown weapons or projectiles, or up to 20 GP of any other item that is no larger than a 5 foot cube. Items created in this way can not be magical, and have an AC of 18 and 20 hit points. If Kawaki creates a second item in this way, the first item disappears, crumbling to dust.

Dying Breath. At the beginning of each of Kawaki's turns that he is unconscious, he may ignore the condition and immediately take a turn. At the end of his turn, he gains 1 level of exhaustion. If he was unconscious from having 0 hit points, he does not make a death saving throw at the beginning of that turn, and he regains the unconscious condition and gains a failed death saving throw at the end of his turn.

Karma. When Kawaki is reduced to half his maximum hit points, he must attempt a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, his Karma activates.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Kawaki can make 3 unarmed strike or kunai attacks.

Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (5d4 + 5) magical bludgeoning damage.

Kunai. Thrown Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, range 30/60 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d4 + 4) piercing damage.

Karma. As a bonus action, Kawaki gains the following until he can not maintain it or becomes unconcious:

  • His AC gains a +2 bonus.
  • His movement speed increase by +20 feet.
  • His jutsu's attack and damage rolls gain a +2 bonus.
  • He has advantage on Dexterity and Wisdom saving throws.
  • He loses 9 hit points or chakra points, or a mix of both, at the end of each of his turns. Kawaki may not go below 0 chakra when losing chakra in this way.

Horn Break. While Kawaki's Karma is active, he attempts a DC 18 Strength saving throw. On a success, Karma ends. Kawaki may do this once, regaining use at the end of his next turn.

As a young boy, Kawaki was abused by his alcoholic father physically, emotionally, and neglectfully. When Jigen approached the supposed "war hero" with an offer to buy the boy for a large sum of money, Kokatsu accepted without question, allowing the stranger to adopt Kawaki as his son instead. Now a subject of Kara, Kawaki was one of 15 individuals to be candidates for Isshiki's Karma, becoming one of only three survivors, and the only true success. Going into brutal training with Jigen for the next decade of his early life, Kawaki's life went from suffering to living hell. As Kawaki's Karma neared completion, Jigen wished to test his power on the surface. However, mid-transport, the stealth blimp he was aboard crashed in the Land of Fire. Attempting to escape after defeating the puppets pursuing him, he collapsed. When he awoke, Team Konohamaru was standing above him. When he noticed Boruto's Karma, he assumed they were part of Kara. Before they could correct him, they were ambushed by Garo, who attempted to reclaim their Vessel. Moments before he would have lost, his Karma activated, allowing him to obliterate Garo in a single strike that left him exhausted enough to fall unconscious again. Being taken to the Leaf Village, the Seventh Hokage assured him that he would personally protect him while the Shinobi Union investigated Kara, being taken to his house. When he attempted to flee, he accidentally destroyed a vase made by Himawari, enraging Boruto and resulting in the two ending the day with plenty of hostility. The next day, things only heated up before exploding into a full confrontation. As they activated their Karma, Naruto arrived, stopping the fight. Calmed down enough to speak to one another, they traded stories of how they had acquired their Karma, with Boruto being horrified at Kara's contempt for life. Finally accepting each other as brothers, they dedicated themselves to removing their Karma, with Kawaki even joining the Academy under Naruto's tutelage to learn modern culture and ninjutsu. When Naruto was taken by Kara, the new Team 7, operating under Sarada's leadership with Kawaki, opened a rift to his location only to discover Boro. After a long battle, Boruto's Karma suddenly activated. Controlled by Momoshiki, Boro was obliterated in an instant before Boruto's Karma receded, though Kawaki lost his arm in the process. Returning to the Leaf Village, Kawaki received a listened in on Amado's interrogation, who offered to erase Kawaki's Karma: a proposition he gratefully accepted. Seeing a chance to strike, Boruto and Kawaki joined Naruto and Sasuke in a separate dimension to deal with the threat of Kara once and for all. As Isshiki began to crumble to dust, he finally tracked down Kawaki and forced his Karma onto him, only to discover that he was only a shadow clone, permanently killing the Otsutsuki before Momoshiki gained control of Boruto's body again. With Sasuke and Kawaki's cooperation, they were able to bring Boruto back. Moments before Momoshiki regained control, Boruto broke his horn, ending his Karma. Back in the Leaf Village, Amado restored his arm, giving his Karma back in the process. While Boruto temporarily retired as a shinobi, Kawaki began formulating ways of protecting him from Momoshiki's control.
