Chakra. Boruto has 81 chakra points which he can expend. All chakra points are regained at the end of a long rest.

Evasion/Discernment. When Boruto is targeted by an area effect that lets him make a Dexterity, Intelligence, or Wisdom saving throw to take only half damage, such as fireball, he instead takes no damage if he succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if he fails the save.

Ninja Speed. Boruto can take the dash, dodge, and disengage actions as a bonus action, and can move along vertical surfaces.

Jōgan. When Boruto is surprised, in the presence of a significantly dangerous creature as determined by the DM, or when he activates his Karma and is not possessed, his critical range increases to 19-20, and he may reroll any damage rolls on his turn up to 1 time, regaining all uses at the end of a short rest.

Dying Breath. At the beginning of each of Boruto's turns that he is unconscious, he may ignore the condition and immediately take a turn. At the end of his turn, he gains 1 level of exhaustion. If he was unconscious from having 0 hit points, he does not make a death saving throw at the beginning of that turn, and he regains the unconscious condition and gains a failed death saving throw at the end of his turn.

Karma. When Boruto is reduced to half his maximum hit points, he must attempt a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, his Karma activates. If his Karma activates automatically while he has less than 40 chakra, or if he becomes unconscious while his Karma is active, he becomes controlled by Momoshiki until it ends. His Karma only ends from him becoming unconscious while Momoshiki is controlling him, and Momoshiki may end it at will. While controlled by Momoshiki, Boruto gains the following features:

Byakugan. Momoshiki can see in 360 degree vision in a 15 foot radius, can not be surprised while conscious, and can see through objects that would not block his Chakra Sense.
Chakra Sense. When Momoshiki takes the search action, he may also attempt a DC 13 Perception check to locate living creatures and magical effects within 60 feet. He see a faint outline around the detected chakra source and what school of magic or chakra nature the magical effect was created from, or one that the creature can use if any, can be discerned by him. This effect can penetrate most barriers, but is blocked by 2 feet of stone, 2 inches of common metal, 1 inch of lead, or 6 feet of wood or dirt.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Boruto can make 3 unarmed strike or kunai attacks.

Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (5d4 + 5) magical bludgeoning damage.

Kunai. Thrown Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, range 30/60 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d4 + 4) piercing damage. Boruto may spend up to 3 chakra when he takes this action, making one additional attack per chakra point spent. Each additional kunai deals 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage on a hit.

Karma. As a bonus action, Boruto gains the following until he can not maintain it or becomes unconcious:

  • His AC gains a +2 bonus.
  • His movement speed increase by +20 feet.
  • His jutsu's attack and damage rolls gain a +2 bonus.
  • He has advantage on Dexterity and Wisdom saving throws.
  • He loses 9 hit points or chakra points, or a mix of both, at the end of each of his turns. Boruto may not go below 0 chakra when losing chakra in this way.

Horn Break. While Boruto's Karma is active, he attempts a DC 18 Strength saving throw. On a success, Karma ends. Boruto may do this once, regaining use at the end of his next turn.

After Ao's death, Boruto discovered a boy in the wreckage of the blimp Ao was investigating. Drawing near, Boruto's Karma began to sear with pain, seemingly having the same affect on the other as he shot awake, producing a blast of energy from his own Karma. Believing the team to be pursuers from Kara due to Boruto's Karma, Boruto tried to correct him, but was interrupted by a sudden attack from Garo. Being forced to stay back by Konohamaru, Boruto watched the fight with frustration. When this mysterious "Kawaki" activated his Karma, Boruto's activated to the same extent, drawing from a deeper well of power. As Kawaki destroyed Garo with a blast of power, Boruto was forced to use his own Karma to absorb the blast, saving this teammates. When the smoke cleared, Kawaki collapsed to the ground. Bringing him into the Leaf Village to be examined and detained, Kawaki broke free, but was confronted by Naruto. After a difficult conversation, it was decided that Kawaki would become a member of the Uzumaki household, much to his frustration. When he discovered that Kawaki had destroyed Himawari's vase, which she had made by hand as a gift, the two ended the day with plenty of hostility. The next day, things only heated up before exploding into a full confrontation. As they activated their Karma, Naruto arrived, stopping the fight. Calmed down enough to speak to one another, they traded stories of how they had acquired their Karma, with Boruto being horrified at Kara's contempt for life. Finally accepting each other as brothers, they dedicated themselves to removing their Karma. When Naruto was taken by Kara, the new Team 7, operating under Sarada's leadership with Kawaki, opened a rift to his location only to discover Boro. After a long battle, Boruto's Karma suddenly activated. Controlled by Momoshiki, Boro was obliterated in an instant before Boruto's Karma receded, warning that it was not time for him to lose everything yet. Returning to the Leaf Village, Boruto listened in on Amado's interrogation, learning the true nature of Kara, and the existence of Isshiki Otsutsuki. Seeing a chance to strike, Boruto and Kawaki joined Naruto and Sasuke in a separate dimension to deal with the threat of Kara once and for all. But after Isshiki's death, Momoshiki gained control again, ambushing Sasuke and destroying his Rinnegan. With Sasuke and Kawaki's cooperation, they were able to bring Boruto back. Moments before Momoshiki regained control, Boruto broke his horn, ending his Karma. While the village considered him a hero for his part in defeating Isshiki, he was terrified of Momoshiki taking control again, he was unable to sleep for days until his father assured him that the Leaf was doing everything in their power to save him. Formulating multiple plans, like implanting his own Karma on Code or developing a medication developed by Amado that had a chance of slowing its progression, which he took at the temporary cost of his sight, Boruto temporarily retired from being a shinobi, instead supporting Kawaki's endeavor into shinobi-hood. After fending off Code and saving Kawaki from pointlessly sacrificing himself, Boruto became overwhelmed with exhaustion, allowing the worst to come. Breaking through Momoshiki's control for only a moment, Boruto agreed with Kawaki's decision to simply kill him, putting an end to Momoshiki forever as a spear stabbed through his chest. However, despite what anyone considered possible, Boruto awakened fine. In the soul's final moments, Momoshiki explained that he extracted what remained of his Karma to heal Boruto, making it impossible for him to ever resurrect and making the boy a full Otsutsuki.
