1st-level Conjuration | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | Self (30 foot radius) |
Components: | S, M (A drop of water) |
Duration: | Up to 10 minutes |
You cause rain to fall within a 30-foot radius, 60-foot high cylinder centered on yourself that moves with you wherever you go. Creatures that end their turn within this area become soaked, and open flames are immediately extinguished. You may end the spell before the end of the duration as a bonus action.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the rain conjured by this spell also carries with it strong downward wind that disperses fog or cloud-based spells, such as fog cloud, within its area of effect.
The rain generated by this spell can also inherit a few other properties, depending upon its spell level and whom cast it:
- Holy Rain. The rain can inherit divine properties if casted with divine magic. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher and you are a cleric or Divine Soul sorcerer, the rain becomes holy water. A fiend or undead that enters the area of effect for the first time on a turn or begins its turn there takes 2d6 radiant damage.
- Running Water. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the torrentialness of the rain makes it able to harm certain creatures. Any creature with the Running Water weakness, such as a vampire spawn, takes 20 acid damage when it ends its turn in the area of effect.
