Firearms work differently than other ranged weapons. You cannot recover ammunition at the end of battle. Additionally, to use firearms, you need a gunner’s kit, see the link below. Guns are ranged weapons, but some have the versatile property, when a gun with the versatile property is held with two hands, instead of increasing the damage, it has advantage on ranged attack rolls, and advantage on melee damage rolls. Guns, unless modified otherwise, are matchlock, and if put in water, or a day passes since last lit, the match will be doused, and the gun will cannot fire, the match can be lit during downtime, a rest, or as a full action during combat, additionally, if placed in a flamable substance, the substance lights. If a gun is modified to not be matchlock, disregard the previous sentence’s properties.
