From D&D Wiki
Envy[edit]
Medium humanoid (Homunculus), lawful evil Armor Class 19 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Wis +8, Cha +7 Soul Points. Envy has 20 soul points, which are regained at the end of a long rest, and 20 temporary soul points. He can consume a philosopher's stone to regain 1/4 the number of Alchemic Stamina points as soul points. If this would increase his soul points above his maximum, he instead gains temporary soul points. TSP can stack and can be used in the same manner as normal soul points, but are not regained at the end of a long rest. Evasion. When Envy is subjected to an effect that allows him to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, he instead takes no damage if he succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if he fails. Soul Surge. On his turn, Envy can spend 3 soul points to take one additional action on top of his regular action and a possible bonus action. Hidden Form. Envy has advantage against saving throws that would cause him to move against his will or become prone. He can spend 1 soul point to automatically succeed such a saving throw. ACTIONSMultiattack. Envy makes three attacks with his unarmed strikes or handgun. Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 bludgeoning damage. Envy may spent 1 soul point to deal an additional 4 (1d8) damage on a hit. Handgun. Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 30/300 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 2) piercing damage. Must be reloaded after 12 shots. Regeneration (1 Soul Point). As a bonus action, Envy regains 7 (1d8 + 3) hit points. Envy may spend 2 soul points to use Regeneration as a reaction, or 3 soul points to use it as a free action or when he is reduced to 0 hit points. Unyielding (1 Soul Point). Envy takes the dash, dodge, or disengage actions as bonus actions. He can take each of these actions on the same bonus action for 1 additional soul point. Shapeshifting (3 Soul Points). Envy becomes visually identical to one creature his size or smaller that is not a construct, elemental, or dragon, and gains its movement speed. Creatures that do not see him shift must succeed a DC 16 Perception check or mistake him for the creature he is impersonating. His ability scores, hit points, resistances, and features do not change. Exposed Form (15 Soul Points). As a full turn action, Envy becomes Gargantuan, can no longer wield weapons or wear armor, his unarmed attacks deal 10 (2d6 + 3) magical bludgeoning damage, he can grapple up to 4 creatures at a time, and he gains a +2 bonus to his AC. Envy may end this effect as a full turn action for 15 soul points.

The fourth of Father's homunculi to be created, Envy was designed to cause unrest and distrust across Amestris. Nearly every major conflict was spurred on in some way by Envy, including the Ishvalan Civil War. Additionally, he worked alongside Lust on cleanup duty, evacuating Edward Elric after he found his way into the Fifth Laboratory, a condemned military facility used to create Philosopher's Stones, as well as killing its guards and demolishing the building, assassinating Lt. Maes Hughes after he discovered the homunculi's plan, attempting to recover Gluttony after he was captured by Ling Yao, and using Solf Kimblee to track down Dr. Marcoh, where he lost most of his souls to Marcoh's ability to destroy Philosopher's Stones. During the revolution, as Father's mannequin army descended on the revolutionary forces, Envy absorbed them in order to empower himself, ultimately saving the revolution from the unkillable onslaught and making him vulnerable to the Flame Alchemist's power, though he would be spared to stop the future leader's path of vengeance by his subordinates and an Ishvalan. Unable to come to terms with his enemies finding the companionship he had sought, only to consider impossible, Envy destroyed his own stone. Vortex of Souls. When Envy is targeted by detect magic or a similar effect, or contacted by any form of two-way telepathy, the caster hears the screams of every soul inside of him and must succeed a DC 22 Charisma saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. They may retry this saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending this effect early on a success. Mystically Mundane. Envy can not spend spell slots or Alchemic Stamina. Unaging. Envy does not need to eat, drink, or sleep, and does not age. |
