Transmutation Circle. The alchemist can create Transmutation Circles. All created Circles occupy the space you were in when you created it, and can only be activated while touching it. Each Transmutation Circle can manipulate a single element or compound, or a substance comprising of at least half of the chosen material, and this material can not be in a creature's possession. Any objects created by the alchemist's Circles can not have any functions its source material did not. The Truth alchemist's Transmutation Circles may manipulate a single non-biological material of their choice. The Truth alchemist has 60 Alchemic Stamina which it may spend, regaining all spend Alchemic Stamina at the end of a long rest.

Use the following and the tables at the end of this creature description to determine the effects of the alchemist's Circles:

Transmutation Save DC: 16

Transmutation Attack Modifier: +8

All is One. The alchemist may spend 1 minute analyzing a material, allowing the next Transmutation Circle they cast within the next hour to manipulate it even if they can not manipulate that material normally unless the material is in a creature's possession. This can be used as an action for 6 Alchemic Stamina.

One is All. The alchemist's Transmutation Circles can manipulate any number of materials they know how to manipulate.

Combat Alchemy. When the alchemist uses their action to do something other than to activate a Circle, they may activate a Circle up to Medium size as a bonus action.

ACTIONS

Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage.

Alchemic Recovery. As a bonus action, the alchemist regains 18 Alchemic Stamina. This feature can be used twice, regaining use at the end of a short rest.

Alchemic Rejuvenation. As a bonus action, the alchemist may spend Alchemic Stamina to grant themself twice as many temporary hit points.

Alchemic Meditation. The alchemist meditates on one Circle within their reach. So long as they remain touching the Circle and maintain concentration, the total cost of the Circle is halved, the area of effect is indicated before it activates, and it activates at the end of your next turn.

Truth alchemists have not only seen the deeper truths of alchemy, but the Truth itself.

Truth Alchemists

The following are known Truth alchemists and their circles:

Edward Elric, Fullmetal Alchemist

With the power granted by the knowledge of his Gate of Truth, Edward quickly became a state alchemist, becoming the Fullmetal Alchemist. Edward's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, and flesh, and can be used to create melee weapons and shields.

Rebound. When Edward uses a Circle, he may spend his or one of his body parts' hit points instead of Alchemic Stamina. He may gain 1 level of exhaustion to decrease the number of hit points lost by 6 and regain 6 Alchemic Stamina.
Independent Deconstruction. Using a Circle of any size, Edward may make a Transmutation attack against one creature within the Circle's range. On a hit, the target takes force damage as if they were hit by the maximum weight the Circle could manipulate.
Create Philosopher's Stone. Using a Gargantuan Circle, any creatures of Edward's choice within the Circle's range gain 1 level of exhaustion. If a creature is killed by exhaustion gained in this way, their soul becomes part of a Philosopher's Stone, either creating one or adding their soul to an existing one, and they can not be resurrected by any means outside of the Wish spell, which removes their soul from the stone, or casting a resurrection effect while possessing the stone, which removes the time limit from the creature's death. Each soul inside the stone grants it a number of Alchemic Stamina points equal to their CR or level (minimum 1). When Edward uses a Philosopher's Stone, he may choose which souls are used.
Truth Alchemy. At will, Edward may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within his body that lasts until it is used or he creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
Automail. Edward's right arm and left leg have 10 hit points. A creature with proficiency in tinker's tools must do at least 1 minute of maintenance on each piece of automail every 72 hours, or every hour in extreme weather. For every 24 hours without maintenance after this limit grants a -1 penalty to any checks and attack rolls made with the piece of automail.
Edward Elric, Sacrifice

On the promised day, Edward headed the attack on Father's base under central command, and ultimately defeated the evil under Amestris barehanded. Edward's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, and flesh, and can be used to create melee weapons and shields, and he can perform Human Transmutation.

Rebound. When Edward uses a Circle, he may spend his or one of his body parts' hit points instead of Alchemic Stamina. He may gain 1 level of exhaustion to decrease the number of hit points lost by 6.
Independent Deconstruction. Using a Circle of any size, Edward may make a Transmutation attack against one creature within the Circle's range. On a hit, the target takes force damage as if they were hit by the maximum weight the Circle could manipulate.
Become Philosopher's Stone. As an action, Edward may gain 1 level of exhaustion and regain 6 Alchemic Stamina.
Ultimate Transmutation. Using a Huge Circle, Edward casts the wish spell. In exchange, he loses all levels from the alchemist class and becomes unable to gain levels from it.
Truth Alchemy. At will, Edward may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within his body that lasts until it is used or he creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
Automail. Edward's right arm and left leg have 20 hit points. A creature with proficiency in tinker's tools must do at least 1 minute of maintenance on each piece of automail every 72 hours, or every hour in extreme weather. For every 24 hours without maintenance after this limit grants a -1 penalty to any checks and attack rolls made with the piece of automail.
Alphonse Elric, Sacrifice

Sticking alongside Edward, often being mistaken as the Fullmetal Alchemist due to his armored appearance, Alphonse was also chosen as one of Father's sacrifices, though ultimately it would be Alphonse's own sacrifice that returned Edward's arm to him, allowing for Father's defeat. Alphonse's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, and wood, and can be used to create melee weapons, shields, armor, and ranged weapons.

Rebound. When Alphonse uses a Circle, he may spend his or one of his body parts' hit points instead of Alchemic Stamina. He may gain 1 level of exhaustion to decrease the number of hit points lost by 6.
Healing Alchemy. Using a Circle of any size, Alphonse may cause any creatures of his choice within the Circle's range that are not a construct or elemental to regain a total number of hit points equal to the Circle's maximum weight.
Truth Alchemy. At will, Alphonse may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within his body that lasts until it is used or he creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
Automaton. Alphonse does not need to and can not eat, breathe, or sleep, has an AC of 13, a Strength saving throw bonus of -5, and a Dexterity saving throw bonus of -3, has immunity to poison damage and vulnerability to acid damage, and can not regain hit points from items or bioalchemy. When a creature uses a Medium or larger Circle to manipulate the same material the construct is made of, they may cause Alphonse to regain hit points equal to the hit points an object made of the material would have.
Alphonse Elric, 2003

In another world, during their fights against Dante and her homunculi, the material of Alphonse's armor was converted into a Philosopher's Stone, granting him near-immeasurable power. Alphonse's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, and wood, and can be used to create melee weapons, shields, armor, and ranged weapons.

Healing Alchemy. Using a Circle of any size, Alphonse may cause any creatures of his choice within the Circle's range that are not a construct or elemental to regain a total number of hit points equal to the Circle's maximum weight.
Become Philosopher's Stone. As an action, Alphonse may gain 1 level of exhaustion and regain 6 Alchemic Stamina.
Create Philosopher's Stone. Using a Gargantuan Circle, any creatures of Alphonse's choice within the Circle's range gain 1 level of exhaustion. When Alphonse uses a Philosopher's Stone, he may choose which souls are used.
Alphonse Elric, Shambala

Following Dante's defeat, Alphonse's soul was finally returned to his body, though not as permanently as one may think. Alphonse's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, and wood, and can be used to create melee weapons, shields, armor, and ranged weapons.

Soul Bond. Using a Small Circle within 1 minute of the death of any humanoid, Alphonse may bond their soul to a suit of armor within the Circle's range. He may also force the creature to make a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is charmed by Alphonse and he may choose so it only has access to memories he has fabricated for 14d6 hours. During this transmutation, Alphonse takes 28 (5d10) damage that can not be reduced in any way. Alphonse may choose this damage to instead target one of his limbs if it would reduce it to 0 hit points.
The created construct does not need to and can not eat, breathe, or sleep, has an AC equal to the AC of the armor it is bound to, is affected by any special properties the armor had, cannot wear additional armor except shields, and has immunity to poison damage and vulnerability to acid damage, but is otherwise resurrected per the resurrection spell. It regains hit points normally, but can not regain hit points from items or bioalchemy. When a creature uses a Medium or larger Circle to manipulate the same material the construct is made of, they may cause the construct to regain hit points equal to the hit points an object made of the material would have. If Alphonse spends at least 1 Alchemic Stamina from a Philosopher's Stone on this circle, he may spend Alchemic Stamina from the stone to decrease the damage taken by an equal amount.
Soul Transfer. Using a Huge Circle while touching a dead humanoid body, Alphonse transfers his soul into it, healing all of its wounds and shaping it slightly into his own. Alphonse's current body dies and he controls the new body. This does not grant him new racial features or ability scores, but removes any effects affecting him, including exhaustion, and causes him to regain his maximum hit points. Until the end of his next long rest, Alphonse's hit point maximum is halved as he conditions himself to his new body. A soul can not inhabit his previously inhabited body by any means after using this Circle.
Soul Split. When Alphonse uses Soul Bond, instead of bonding the soul of a dead creature to the armor, he may bond a fragment of his own soul. Alphonse and any constructs created in this way gain 1 level of exhaustion until the fragment is unbound as a full turn action, but Alphonse does not take damage from the transmutation and the construct is directly controlled by him.
Izumi Curtis, Sacrifice

With help from the medical prowess of Van Hohenheim, Izumi was able to fight significantly better on the Promised Day. Izumi's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica and iron, and can be used to create melee weapons, shields, armor, and ranged weapons. Izumi may use Alchemic Recovery one additional time, but this use is regained at the end of a long rest.

Rebound. When Izumi uses a Circle, she may spend her or one of her body parts' hit points instead of Alchemic Stamina. She may gain 1 level of exhaustion to decrease the number of hit points lost by 6.
Convert Material. Using a Circle of any size, Izumi converts one material she can manipulate into an equal weight of another material she can manipulate on an atomic level. This can not transmute biological materials into non-biological materials, or transmute non-biological materials into biological materials.
Truth Alchemy. At will, Izumi may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within her body that lasts until it is used or she creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
Shredded Organs. Izumi can hold her breath for 2 minutes, and she has disadvantage on Constitution saving throws. If she eats at least 1/3 of a day's worth of food within 1 hour, she must succeed a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or vomit it.
Roy Mustang, Fuhrer

After leading the rebellion on the Promised Day that resulted in the deaths of both the figureheads and hidden evils of Central Command, Mustang was the first person to take charge in rebuilding the country, and an obvious choice to be the next Furher. Mustang's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, gold, carbon, and oxygen.

Rebound. When Mustang uses a Circle, he may spend his or one of his body parts' hit points instead of Alchemic Stamina. He may gain 1 level of exhaustion to decrease the number of hit points lost by 6 and regain 6 Alchemic Stamina.
Flame Alchemy. Using a Circle of any size, Mustang may concentrate oxygen in any areas within the Circle's range until the beginning of his next turn. If an area affected by this effect is exposed to an open flame or electricity, it ignites, forcing every creature within the area to attempt a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes fire damage equal to twice the Alchemic Stamina cost of the Circle. Mustang may decrease the number of 5 ft. areas targeted by this Circle to increase the damage dealt to creatures within an equal number of 5 ft. areas targeted by the Circle by the Alchemic Stamina cost of the Circle. Mustang has an alchemist's cloth affect worth 170,000 cens that can only be used as a Medium Circle to use this Alchemical Specialization and breaks on a 1d6 roll of 1.
Truth Alchemy. At will, Mustang may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within his body that lasts until it is used or he creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
Blind. Mustang has a -25 penalty to checks that require sight.
Dante of the Deep Forest

In the early 1500's, in a world where Father never existed, two pioneers in alchemy, Dante and Hohenheim, created the first Philosopher's Stone from the victims of witch trials and the plague. Using their new-found godly power, the two had life eternal by moving from body to body, even having a son, though he would die of mercury poisoning at 18. After attempting to bring him back to life, instead creating Envy, the two split, with Dante drawing the homunculi created by Human Transmutation to gain power and extend her life even further. Dante's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, wood, and flesh.

Healing Alchemy. Using a Circle of any size, Dante may cause any creatures of her choice within the Circle's range that are not a construct or elemental to regain a total number of hit points equal to the Circle's maximum weight.
Become Philosopher's Stone. As an action, Dante may gain 1 level of exhaustion and regain 6 Alchemic Stamina.
Create Philosopher's Stone. Using a Gargantuan Circle, any creatures of Dante's choice within the Circle's range gain 1 level of exhaustion. Truth Alchemy. At will, Dante may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within her body that lasts until it is used or she creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
Hohenheim of Light

In the early 1500's, in a world where Father never existed, two pioneers in alchemy, Dante and Hohenheim, created the first Philosopher's Stone from the victims of witch trials and the plague. Using their new-found godly power, the two had life eternal by moving from body to body, even having a son, though he would die of mercury poisoning at 18. After attempting to bring him back to life, instead creating Envy, the two split, with Hohenheim renouncing any feelings he once had for Dante and attempting to settle down while dismantling her accumulated power. Hohenheim's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica, iron, and wood, and can be used to create melee weapons, shields, and armor.

Soul Bond. Using a Small Circle within 1 minute of the death of any humanoid, Hohenheim may bond their soul to a suit of armor within the Circle's range. He may also force the creature to make a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is charmed by Hohenheim and he may choose so it only has access to memories he has fabricated for 14d6 hours. During this transmutation, Hohenheim takes 28 (5d10) damage that can not be reduced in any way. Hohenheim may choose this damage to instead target one of his limbs if it would reduce it to 0 hit points.
When a creature uses a Medium or larger Circle to manipulate the same material the construct is made of, they may cause the construct to regain hit points equal to the hit points an object made of the material would have. If Hohenheim spends at least 1 Alchemic Stamina from a Philosopher's Stone on this circle, he may spend Alchemic Stamina from the stone to decrease the damage taken by an equal amount.
Soul Transfer. Using a Huge Circle while touching a dead humanoid body, Hohenheim transfers his soul into it, healing all of its wounds and shaping it slightly into his own. Hohenheim's current body dies and he controls the new body. This does not grant him new racial features or ability scores, but removes any effects affecting him, including exhaustion, and causes him to regain his maximum hit points. Until the end of his next long rest, Hohenheim's hit point maximum is halved as he conditions himself to his new body. A soul can not inhabit his previously inhabited body by any means after using this Circle.
Soul Split. When Hohenheim uses Soul Bond, instead of bonding the soul of a dead creature to the armor, he may bond a fragment of his own soul. Hohenheim and any constructs created in this way gain 1 level of exhaustion until the fragment is unbound as a full turn action, but Hohenheim does not take damage from the transmutation and the construct is directly controlled by him.
Light Guardian. Using a Gargantuan Circle, Hohenheim may create a visual clone of one creature he has seen and are the same size as. These clones are mechanically identical to Hohenheim save for having 0 Alchemic Stamina, being unable to regain Alchemic Stamina, being an elemental, being directly controlled by him, not need to and can not eat, breathe, or sleep, and being resistant to all damage.
Truth Alchemy. At will, Hohenheim may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within his body that lasts until it is used or he creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
Jack Crowley

Once the famed Silver Bullet Alchemist, Crowley became obsessed with the ruins beneath Amestris, gathering their secrets to create a profane, forbidden alchemy combining chimera, the Philosopher's Stone, golems, and even Human Transmutation. Crowley's Transmutation Circles can manipulate silica and flesh.

Healing Alchemy. Using a Circle of any size, Crowley may cause any creatures of his choice within the Circle's range that are not a construct or elemental to regain a total number of hit points equal to the Circle's maximum weight.
Chimera Alchemy. Using a Gargantuan Circle, Crowley may cause two willing or unconscious creatures within 5 ft. of each other within the Circle's range to merge into a chimera. Choose one creature to be the target and the other to be the material. The target's ability scores become equal to the average of their and the material's ability scores, and the target gains any features the material would have had at 1st level.
Military Chimera. When Crowley creates a chimera using Chimera Alchemy, he may cause the material's features to lay dormant until awoken. Rather than the normal effects of being a chimera, when the target becomes frightened, berserk, or bloodlusted or is raging, they gain any of the material's ability scores and features of their choice.
Become Philosopher's Stone. As an action, Crowley may gain 1 level of exhaustion and regain 6 Alchemic Stamina.
Create Philosopher's Stone. Using a Gargantuan Circle, any creatures of Crowley's choice within the Circle's range gain 1 level of exhaustion. When Crowley uses a Philosopher's Stone, he may choose which souls are used.
Soul Bond. Using a Small Circle within 1 minute of the death of any humanoid, Crowley may bond their soul to a suit of armor within the Circle's range. He may also force the creature to make a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is charmed by Crowley and he may choose so it only has access to memories he has fabricated for 14d6 hours. Crowley and any constructs created in this way gain 1 level of exhaustion until the fragment is unbound as a full turn action, but Crowley does not take damage from the transmutation and the construct is directly controlled by him.
Truth Alchemy. At will, Crowley may instantly create a Transmutation Circle of any size within his body that lasts until it is used or he creates another Transmutation Circle for half the Circle's use cost.
