From D&D Wiki
3rd-level Divination | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | Self |
Duration: | Concentration, up to 10 minutes |
For the duration, you sense the presence of an enchantment within 30 feet of you. If you sense enchantments in this way, you can use your action to see a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears an enchantment, and you learn the type of enchantment. The spell can penetrate most barriers, but it is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt. This spell is a variation of detect magic but it's only taught to government officials and it's used specifically for enchantments. These "enchantments" that the spell can detect are any item or a plus weapon, the spell can also detect magical based traps, hazards, blessings, charms, armor, potions, mounts and vehicles, and siege weapons. All must be magical to be detected.
