Chakra. Akahoshi has 59 chakra points which he can expend. All chakra points are regained at the end of a long rest.

Ninja Speed. Akahoshi can take the dash, dodge, and disengage actions as a bonus action, and can move along vertical surfaces.

Evasion. When Akahoshi is targeted by an effect that allows him to make a Dexterity saving throw to take half damage on a success, he takes no damage on a success and half damage on a failure.

Purple Chakra. Some of Akahoshi's features grant him "purple chakra". These special chakra points are counted separately from his normal chakra. Akahoshi can use these chakra on one jutsu or spread them across multiple, and can spend these points and his own normal chakra points on the same jutsu. This chakra can extend above his chakra point maximum, and is lost at the end of a long rest.

Mysterious Peacock Method. While Akahoshi has at least 7 purple chakra, he gains the following:

  • The chakra cost of all jutsu he casts are reduced by 1 (minimum 1).
  • His movement speeds are increased by +10 feet.
  • He may cause his unarmed strikes and any jutsu he casts of his choice to deal poison damage at will.
  • His unarmed strikes gain +10 ft. of reach.
  • While he is grappling a creature, they begin suffocating.
  • He gains a +1 bonus to any attack and damage rolls, his jutsu DC, and his AC.
  • He loses 1 purple chakra at the end of each of his turns.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Akahoshi makes 3 attacks with his unarmed strike or kunai attacks.

Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (4d4 + 2) magical bludgeoning damage.

Kunai (0-3 Chakra). Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) slashing damage. Akahoshi may make 1 additional attack for every additional chakra point spent. Each additional kunai deals 3 (1d4 + 1) slashing damage.

Star Training. Akahoshi reduces his maximum hit points by any number, and gains twice as many purple chakra points gained.

Basic Ninjutsu Technique (1 Chakra). As a bonus action, Akahoshi can move across liquid surfaces as if they were solid. If he is submerged, he rises to the surface of the liquid at a rate of 60 feet per round.

Transformation (1+ Chakra). Akahoshi becomes identical to a person, creature or non-magical object he has a complete visual image of. This can not be a light source, armor, tool, or vehicle, and he can not recreate a magical effect. Creatures must make a DC 16 Investigation check realize that he is transformed. If the creature saw him performing the Jutsu, they automatically succeed. This does not change statistics.

Body Flicker (3 Chakra). Akahoshi's movement speed doubles, and his movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Chakra Transfer Technique (1+ Chakra). One creature that Akahoshi touches gains a number of chakra points equal to this jutsu's cost. This chakra can extend above the target's maximum, and Akahoshi may grant them the ability to cast 1 jutsu that he knows until they lose any chakra he granted them, but they must spend at least 1 chakra he granted them on this jutsu. A creature may only learn 1 jutsu in this way from any single creature. The target loses 1 chakra point gained above their maximum in this way at the end of each of their turns, and all chakra gained in this way at the end of a short or long rest.

Diverse Feather Transformation (5 Chakra). While Feather Manifestation is active, Akahoshi gains one of the following until Feather Manifestation ends or he uses this feature a second time:

  • Akahoshi's size category increases by 1 to a minimum of Large, creatures of his choice may occupy his space and move with him, and any creatures within his space including himself gain a damage reduction of 5. If creatures within Akahoshi's space has a damage reduction, he may add this bonus to their reduction.
  • Akahoshi gains a flying speed equal to his movement speed and may take the dash action as a free action.
  • Akahoshi's reach increases by an additional 10 ft., and his unarmed strikes and jutsu with a range of touch gain a +2 bonus to their attack roll and DC.
  • For 5 additional chakra, Akahoshi becomes Gargantuan, creatures of his choice may occupy his space and move with him, and any creatures within his space including himself gain a damage reduction of 5. If creatures within Akahoshi's space has a damage reduction, he may add this bonus to their reduction. Additionally, he gains a flying speed equal to his movement speed and may take the dash action as a free action, and he gains a +1 bonus to any attack and damage rolls, his jutsu DC, and his AC.
  • For 5 additional chakra, on a hit with his unarmed strikes, his current and maximum hit points increase by 1/4 as much damage dealt (rounded down).

REACTIONS

Substitution (3+ Chakra). When Akahoshi is hit by an attack and would take damage, he decreases the damage by 25 (1d10 + 20) and teleports up to 15 ft. in any direction to an unoccupied space, during which he takes the Hide action. A generic object is left in his place and he takes any remaining damage from that attack. Akahoshi can reduce this damage by an additional 6 (1d10) points per chakra point spent over the initial cost.

The most powerful shinobi to come from the Hidden Stars Village in the Land of Bears, Akahoshi and his followers felt betrayed when the Third Hoshikage banned Star training, thus weakening the shinobi the village produced. While he at first pleaded with the Hoshikage to return to their old ways, a lack of results forced him to take more drastic action, assassinating his leader and naming himself Fourth Hoshikage. Knowing that Natsuhi and Hotarubi were likely still around attempting to continue the Third's will, and that many more might become suspicious regarding his death, he hired a team of Leaf genin to protect the Star. When Natsuhi attacked the training hall in disguise and stole the Star, Akahoshi copied her disguise to kidnap Sumaru, holding him hostage to get it back. When she inevitably returned, she found Sumaru in the training hall, which he had rigged to explode. When the Leaf shinobi witnessed this, they joined forces with Sumaru, Hokuto, and Mizura to turn the village against Akahoshi by revealing the side effects of the Star training. With his entire village turned against him, he confessed to murdering the Third, but proclaimed himself the Fourth Hoshikage, implanting the Star within himself enabling him to fight off every shinobi in the village. It was only through Naruto's Rasengan drilling through the Star, guided by Natsuhi's soul, that Akahoshi was defeated.
