Hollow Reiryoku. The hollow has 30 Rieryoku which it can expend. All Reiryoku is regained at the end of a long rest.

Menos Reiryoku. The hollow has 18 Reiryoku which it can expend on options marked with an asterisk (*) in its archetype. All Menos Reiryoku is regained at the end of a short rest.

Soul. The hollow can only be seen, heard, smelled, touched, sensed, or interacted with by creatures with this feature or objects made of Reishi, though it can interact with creatures made of Kishi normally.

Reiatsu. The hollow may spend 1 Reiryoku at the beginning of its turn to release its Reiatsu until the beginning of its next turn, learning the direction from it of each creature within 60 feet and each of their proficiency bonuses. If a detected creature's proficiency bonus is 4 or lower, they take 30 bludgeoning damage.

Vasto Lorde. The hollow gains a +2 bonus to its attack and damage rolls, AC, saving throws, and saving throw DCs while it has at least half its maximum Hollow Reiryoku.

Honed Body and Mind. The number of levels of exhaustion, as well as gradual blindness, deafness, and numbness required for the hollow to suffer each effect is doubled, as is the hollow's maximum age.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The hollow makes two unarmed strike attacks.

Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 bludgeoning damage.

BONUS ACTIONS

Regeneration (1 Reiryoku). The hollow or one of its body parts regains 20 hit points. This can restore hit points to a body part's higher tiers.

REACTIONS

Hollow Hunger. When the hollow kills a creature that would not be affected by its Reiatsu, it may consume their soul, regaining Reiryoku equal to half the creature's proficiency bonus and causing them to be unable to be resurrected by any means.

Vasto Lordes are the greatest and rarest of all Menos Grandes, with it being theorized that in Hueco Mundo's planets' worth of territory, no more than ten exist, and that each could fight one of the Gotei 13 to a standstill. It's unknown what exact process creates a Vasto Lorde, as not even multiple adjuchas working together can gather enough souls to become one. It is also of note that Vasto Lordes are the most human-like of all hollows, save for arrancar, with none having a non-humanoid frame and or a full-faced hollow mask.

Hollow Archetypes[edit]

Each hollow is unique, though most tend to fall into a handful of classifications:

Anti-Shinigami Vasto Lorde
Evasion. When the hollow is targeted by an area effect that lets it make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, such as fireball, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails the save.
Shunshin. While the hollow's Reiatsu is released, its walking speed increases by 45 feet.
First Strike. When the hollow rolls for initiative, it may release its Reiatsu, causing every creature that does not use this feature to be surprised.
Reiatsu Strikes. While the hollow has at least 1 Reiryoku, its unarmed strikes count as magical and deal 24 (1d4 + 22) bludgeoning damage on a hit. Additionally, the hollow can make an unarmed strike as a bonus action, and can make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action for 1 Reiryoku.
Hollow Strength (1 Reiryoku). As an action, the hollow becomes Large and its unarmed strikes deal 39 (1d4 + 37) bludgeoning damage for 1 minute.
Hollow Slither (2 Reiryoku)*. As an action, the hollow sprouts a long tail for 1 minute, allowing it to make an unarmed strike with 10 additional feet of reach as a bonus action.
Opresión (2 Reiryoku). As a bonus action while the hollow is grappling a creature, they must make a DC 22 Strength saving throw. On a failure, they are restrained until they are no longer grappled.
Soul Fusion (3 Reiryoku). As a bonus action, the hollow may enter the body of a dead humanoid or beast within its reach. A creature must succeed a DC 22 Perception check when they take the Search action to tell that the hollow is not the creature whose body it is in. The hollow's maximum hit points decrease by 12 for every size category below its own the body is and increases by 12 for every size category above.
Spirit Weapon Destruction (5 Reiryoku). As a reaction when a creature hits you with a spirit weapon (i.e. Zanpakuto, Bogensperling, Hollow Zanpakuto), the weapon desummons and is unable to be summoned for 1 hour.
Cero (4 Reiryoku). One creature within 45 ft. of the hollow must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take 39 (1d8 + 35) force damage. On a success, they take half as much damage.
Puerta del Cielo (5 Reiryoku). As an action, the hollow rips through the barriers separating dimensions with its bare hands. If it maintains concentration, it teleports to one location it has previously been to at the beginning of its next turn. If it would arrive in a place already occupied by an object or a creature, it and any creatures or objects traveling with it are shunted to the closest unoccupied space.
Soul-Spinning Vasto Lorde
Discernment. When the hollow is targeted by an area effect that lets it make a Wisdom or Intelligence saving throw to take only half damage, such as fireball, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails the save.
Innate Bakudo (2 Reiryoku). As an action, one creature within 60 feet of the hollow must succeed a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or be restrained for 1 minute with concentration. The target or a creature touching the target can make a DC 10 Athletics or Acrobatics check as an action, ending this effect early on a success.
Innate Hado (2 Reiryoku). As an action, one creature within 60 feet of the hollow must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take 64 (1d6 + 61) radiant damage. On a success, they take half as much damage.
General Fudo (2 Reiryoku). As an action, one creature within 60 ft. of the hollow must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or lose 9 Reiryoku.
General Kaido (2 Reiryoku). As an action, one creature within 5 ft. of the hollow regains 35 (1d8 + 31) hit points.
Eishohaki. When the hollow casts any of its Innate features, it may double its Reiryoku cost to cast it as a bonus action instead of as an action.
Shunpo. While the hollow's Reiatsu is released, its walking speed increases by 20 feet.
Kojutsu Eisho. Immediately after the hollow casts any of its Innate features that cause a saving throw as a bonus action, you may cast the same Kido Technique on the same target as an action, causing any targets that failed the first feature's saving throw to automatically fail the second's saving throw.
Spouting (1+ Reiryoku)*. As an action the hollow creates a beast that is a soul, spending a number of Reiryoku equal to its CR. These beasts act on the hollow's turn.
Tuning Fork Bomb (1 Reiryoku). As an action, one creature within 30 feet of the hollow that is controlled or charmed by it explodes, forcing every creature in a 10 ft. radius of the creature including the creature itself to make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they take 39 (1d8 + 35) bludgeoning damage. On a success, they take half as much damage.
Bulb Scatter (3 Reiryoku). Ranged Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, range 30 ft., one target. Hit: the hollow can control part of the target's body, causing its reach to extend to their reach. On a critical hit, they are charmed by the hollow as well. The target may make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending this effect early on a success.
Sticker Phlegm (3 Reiryoku). As an action, the hollow spits a glob thick saliva, causing two objects or one object and one creature that are touching each other within 5 feet of the hollow to be stuck together for 1 minute with concentration. A creature may make a DC 22 Athletics check as an action, ending this effect early on a success.
Puerta del Cielo (5 Reiryoku). As an action, the hollow rips through the barriers separating dimensions with its bare hands. Soul Separation (3 Reiryoku). On a hit with an unarmed strike against a humanoid, the target becomes a soul it they were not already. The target's body falls unconscious, and if the body the target was in was their own (i.e. not a Gigai) any damage dealt to the body is dealt to the creature instead.
