Timeline[edit]

UNK - 5,500 B.C.E.: The three great nations arise, grow and expand to cover the northern and southern continents and the central isle. Arya claimed the northern lands, Nortilia claimed the southern lands, and Zora claimed the central isle.

5,500 – 4,900 B.C.E.: The Great War begins. With only three known nations left, they all begin to battle one another for land and resources

4,900 B.C.E.: The Great Purge. Zora blasts each of the cardinal directions with immense magic, destroying the very land where it touched. The Wasteland is created at this time. Nortilia was able to convert most of this magic from destructive purposes into growth, causing the Great Forest to spring up almost instantly. The Dead Passes are created as the land is ravaged. Zora ends up sinking below a sea of its own making, ceasing to exist.

4,900 – 4,500 B.C.E.: Arya and Nortilia collapse. Technology all but reverts to the Stone Age and has no time to improve properly. Famine, war, and disease ravage all the known land, leaving very few survivors and no real unity outside the local village.

4,500 – 0 B.C.E.: Nations slowly rise and quickly collapse. Little trade between regions is conducted, and technology barely begins to improve.

0: The first traders from the Elemental Isle arrive on the main land, almost exclusively Undines. The remaining gods descend to the world and begin to take a much more active, present role in the daily lives of the people. The nations of Urganto, Belgoria, Fertor and Aarlan are founded as small cities and villages within a day's ride. The first temples to the gods are founded in each capitol city.

1 C.E. – 497 C.E.: Technology slowly begins to improve as primitive swords, armor, agriculture and transportation emerge. This allows the nations to grow beyond their previous boundaries. Tilia is founded in 212 C.E. and Swizeland arises in 389 C.E.

87 C.E.: Traders from the mainland attempt to establish trade with the Elemental Isle. All foreigners are restricted to a single city on the coast, and any that attempt to leave the city and go inland are put to death.

498 – 788 C.E.: The southern continent enters an era of great warfare. The nations grow as they consume their smaller and weaker neighbors. The elves from the Great Forest emerge for the first time as Aarlan begins a massive deforestation. The Dwarves of the Meroria Mountain range begin raids on the Great Forest and Tilia for resources. The war ends in a very uneasy truce between the nations involved.

507 C.E.: Using wood from the Great Forest, Belgoria creates a massive fleet in an attempt to invade the Elemental Isle. The entire fleet is sunk far off-coast, with few survivors returning to tell the tale of horror. No other invasion of the Elemental Isle is ever attempted.

512 – 606 C.E.: Monsters and cruel creatures from the Deadlands begin to conduct massive raids on Swizeland and Fertor. The borders of Fertor are pushed back to the river while Swizeland is able to grow in size.

591 C.E.: No new traders arrive from the Elemental Isle. All contact with those on the Isle are lost, and all future attempt at contact end in failure and often death.

602 C.E.: Orcs from the Piked Mountains unite to form the largest orc army ever seen and invade the Wasteland, never to be heard from again. Undead sightings along the Wasteland borders increase.

603 C.E.: A pact of peace is sworn between Fertor and the Kryann Dwarves, stopping all further bloodshed. This pact allows for unparalleled growth of both nations and a bond of friendship lasting the ages.

689 C.E.: A fleet of Urganto ships sail south and invade Belgoria. They gain a beachhead that remains for 23 years before being recaptured by Belgoria, who slaughters the residents of the city that Urganto had founded.

755 C.E.: After hundreds of years of small raids, rebellions and fights, Bissel manages to gain freedom from Urganto. Minor attacks are led by Urganto from time to time, but things are left almost at a cold war status. Raids are conducted by either side on a regular basis.

803 C.E.: Demons begin to make raids from the Deadlands. Where these creatures are coming from is unknown, and even the gods seem reluctant to speak of them.

804: C.E.: The first ship from the Elemental Isle in more than two hundred years is seen, though no contact with it was possible. It landed on the Dead Pass and all future knowledge of the ship is lost. The gods seem to be restless, and many of the pantheons are speaking of war against an unknown foe.

805: C.E.: Two massive fleets are seen off the coast of the Elemental Isle. One fleet heads north, and the other heads east. Massive armies land in Urganto and Belgoria, establishing footholds from which no communications are heard. Small raiding parties of Tengus attack Tilia. They are suspected of coming from the Cursed Lands, although at least some are reported as having come from the Forsaken Pass. Undead in the Wasteland seem to be mobilizing in small armies instead of simple bands, leading ever more costly attacks on Bissel, Fertor, Kryann and even the Piked Mountains. The first small fleet of ships is found on the Inner Sea led by an undead Admiral, sinking the few vessels that it can find, while also raiding coastal villages.
