Sazanka (Shinobi World Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
Sazanka[edit]
Medium humanoid (human), lawful neutral Armor Class 15 (Natural Armor)
Saving Throws Str +6, Dex +5 Chakra. Sazanka has 28 chakra points which he can expend. All chakra points are regained at the end of a long rest. Iaidō. On his first turn, or if he did not deal damage on his previous turn, Sazanka's first attack roll with a melee weapon is made with advantage or deals twice as much damage. Additionally, his first time drawing and stowing a melee weapon on each of his turns no longer takes his item interaction and can be done as at will. Ninja Speed. Sazanka can take the dash, dodge, and disengage actions as a bonus action for 2 chakra points. Brawn. When Sazanka is targeted by an effect that allows him to make a Strength saving throw to take half damage on a success, he takes no damage on a success and half damage on a failure. ACTIONSMultiattack. Sazanka makes 2 attacks with his unarmed strike or katana attacks. Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d4 + 3) bludgeoning damage. Katana. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) slashing damage. Samurai Sabre (4 Chakra). As a bonus action, Sazanka may add his unarmed strike die to his katana's damage rolls for 1 minute. Shadow of the Dancing Leaf (3 Chakra). As a bonus action, Sazanka gains the ability to move across any liquid surface— such as water, acid, mud, snow, quicksand, or lava— as if it were harmless solid ground (creatures crossing molten lava can still take damage from the heat) for 1 minute. If Sazanka casts this Jutsu while submerged in a liquid, the Jutsu carries him to the surface of the liquid at a rate of 60 feet per round. Additionally, his movement speed increases by half its total (rounded down), and attacks of opportunity against him have disadvantage. Lion Combo (2 Chakra). The target must attempt a DC 14 Strength saving throw. On a failure, they take 2 ((1d4 + 3) / 2) magical bludgeoning damage and are pushed 20 feet into the air until the end of Sazanka's next turn. On a success, they take half as much damage. Amputation Punishment (2+ Chakra). Sazanka jumps up to 20 feet in the air. As a bonus action no later than the end of your next turn, he falls to the ground and makes a katana attack. His critical threshold increases by 1 for this attack, which he may increase by 1 for every 3 additional chakra spent to a maximum critical threshold of 18-20. Swift Strike Knockout (2 Chakra). When Sazanka makes a melee attack that deals bludgeoning damage against a creature that is not a construct, undead, or elemental, if twice the attack's damage would reduce the target to 0 hit points, they are knocked unconcious for 1 hour or until another creature wakes them as an action, otherwise they take no damage. Iai-Nuki (2-4 Chakra). As a bonus action while Sazanka is prone, or as a reaction when he falls prone for 2 additional chakra, immediately stops being prone and makes a katana attack.

From a young age, Sazanka was trained by Mifune himself in the Land of Iron. While he was only one of many disciples, his natural talent far outshined any of his classmates, only being remotely rivaled by his close friend Tsubaki. Shortly before his master's passing, during a tournament to decide who would become the next wielder of Kurosawa, as was Mifune's wishes, Sazanka and Tsubaki easily made it to the final round. However, while he held every advantage for the majority of the fight, he let his guard down mere moments before the end, which she was able to exploit to achieve victory. With his pride totally shattered, he slaughtered the rest of his classmates in a mad dash to take the sword by force, but was effortlessly stopped by fully trained samurai, though he survived and was able to flee the country, evading capture many times after and becoming a mercenary. Years later, running with a group of bandits, he ambushed a caravan being protected by the Leaf Village's new Team 15, during which he reunited with Tsubaki, who was unable to draw her sword on him, though Wasabi and Namida were able to fight him off. However, during their second clash, Sazanka's strength alone fell to dust in comparison to the strength Tsubaki had nurtured with the help of others. With his final breath, he acknowledged his rival as a truer, stronger samurai than he. |
