From D&D Wiki
Tsubaki Kurogane[edit]
Medium humanoid (Kurogane), lawful neutral Armor Class 15 (Natural Armor)
Saving Throws Dex +6, Int +5 Chakra. Tsubaki has 26 chakra points which she can expend. All chakra points are regained at the end of a long rest. Opportunity Strike. When Tsubaki makes an opportunity attack with a melee weapon, she may spend 1 chakra to gain a +1 bonus to her critical threshold or attack roll for that attack. Iaidō. On her first turn, or if she did not deal damage on her previous turn, Tsubaki's first attack roll with a melee weapon is made with advantage or deals twice as much damage. Additionally, her first time drawing and stowing a melee weapon on each of her turns no longer takes her item interaction and can be done as at will. Ninja Speed. Tsubaki can take the dash, dodge, and disengage actions as a bonus action, and can move along vertical surfaces. Brawn. When Tsubaki is targeted by an effect that allows her to make a Strength saving throw to take half damage on a success, she takes no damage on a success and half damage on a failure. ACTIONSMultiattack. Tsubaki makes 2 attacks with her unarmed strike or katana attacks. Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d4 + 3) magical bludgeoning damage. Katana. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) magical slashing damage. Samurai Sabre (4 Chakra). As a bonus action, Tsubaki may add her unarmed strike die to her katana's damage rolls for 1 minute. Flash (2 Chakra). One creature within 5 ft. must attempt a DC 14 Strength. On a failure, they take the damage they would have taken from a hit with Tsubaki's katana. On a success, they take half as much damage. Secret Sword: Snowstorm Beheading (8 Chakra). At the beginning of Tsubaki's next turn, she must attempt a DC 17 Intelligence saving throw. On a failure, every creature within a 30 ft. radius, including herself, is targeted by this jutsu. On a success, only creatures of her choice are targeted. Every creature targeted must succeed a DC 14 Strength saving throw. On a failure, they 34 (6d10 + 1) thunder damage and become prone. On a success, they take half as much damage. Shadow of the Dancing Leaf (3 Chakra). As a bonus action, Tsubaki gains the ability to move across any liquid surface— such as water, acid, mud, snow, quicksand, or lava— as if it were harmless solid ground (creatures crossing molten lava can still take damage from the heat) for 1 minute. If Tsubaki casts this Jutsu while submerged in a liquid, the Jutsu carries her to the surface of the liquid at a rate of 60 feet per round. Additionally, her movement speed increases by half its total (rounded down), and attacks of opportunity against her have disadvantage. REACTIONSKurogane Style: Evading Strike (3 Chakra). When a creature misses Tsubaki with an attack, she makes an opportunity attack against the attacker. Mifune-Style First Tachi: Blaze (10 Chakra). When another creature forces Tsubaki to make a Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution saving throw, or when she is targeted by an attack roll, while Samurai Sabre is active, she makes a melee weapon attack roll. If this roll is higher than effect's DC or attack roll, the effect fails. If the roll is lower, she automatically fails the saving throw and the attack automatically hits her. |
At first when Tsubaki joined the Leaf Village's Team 15. Disliking her temporary new home for its lack of discipline in comparison to the monolithic Land of Iron, she made no attempt to cooperate with Wasabi or Namida, treating each mission as a means of self-improvement alone. However, when the trio discovered a wanted thief outside of a mission, Tsubaki was the one left behind, amazed by her teammates' devotion to the Will of Fire and coming to appreciate the ways of the Leaf. After a year of teambuilding, and even getting a chance to become a chunin, though she was ultimately defeated by Denki in the final round. However, during a mission investigating attacks on caravans, Tsubaki came face to face with her worst fear; Sazanka as her enemy. Wracked with guilt, she was unable to even draw her sword on him, though Wasabi and Namida were able to fight him off. However, during their second clash, Sazanka's strength alone fell to dust in comparison to the strength Tsubaki had nurtured with the help of others. With his final breath, he acknowledged his rival as a truer, stronger samurai than he. |
