Kobold Variant[edit]
Broadbarrelic kobolds are kobolds that came to Broadbarrel, and adapted to it’s desolate lands. They are taller, thicker, and have tannish-colored scales, as well as larger horns.
Broadbarrelic kobolds aren’t as meek as their predecessors, so they do not have the “grovel, cower, and beg” ability. They also have adapted to Broadbarrel’s blinding sun, so they no longer have “sunlight sensitivity,” though they still dislike the sun. They do keep “pack tactics” though, as shown below, as well as their darkvision, also shown below. Their adaptation to Broadbarrel also grants them some unique benefits.
Your Broadbarrelic kobold character has certain traits deriving from your kobold ancestry.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score decreases by 1, but your Constitution and Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age. Broadbarrelic kobolds reach adulthood at age 8 and can live up to 100 years but rarely do so.
Alignment. Broadbarrelic kobolds are bloodthirsty and selfish, making them evil, but their reliance on the strength of their group makes them trend toward law, though exiles tend to chaos due to their bloodthirstiness.
Size. Broadbarrelic kobolds are between 4 and 5 feet tall and weigh between 65 and 110 pounds. You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Pack Tactics. You have a +3 bonus on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.
Adaptation. Your scales are heat resistant and hardened, so you get resistance to nonmagical fire damage.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic.
