Fia's Mist (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
5th-level Necromancy | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 10 feet |
Components: | S |
Duration: | Concentration, up to 1 minute |
You create a 10-foot-radius sphere of translucent black mist centered on a point within range. The mist spreads around corners. It lasts for the duration or until strong wind disperses the mist, ending the spell. Its area is lightly obscured.
When a creature enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, that creature must make a Constitution saving throw. If a creature ends its turn inside the mist, it has disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes against this spell. If the creature successfully saves against this spell three times, it is immune to this spell for 24 hours. If it fails its saves a number of times equal to its Constitution modifier, it instantly dies, as a black tree branch grows from inside the creature's body, erupting from it and impaling it, with numerous larvae also bursting from inside it. Creatures are affected even if they hold their breath or don't need to breathe. The successes and failures don't need to be consecutive; keep track of both. When the creature finishes a long rest, discard all successes and failures.
This spell has no effect on constructs or undead.
