You attempt to identify the characteristics of a creature you can see within range. You make a Intelligence (Investigation) check with a DC equal to 8 + the creature's proficiency bonus + the creature's Wisdom modifier. If you fail the check, nothing happens and the creature becomes immune to this spell for 1 hour. On a success, you may discover 5 of the following options:
- Strength score
- Dexterity score
- Constitution score
- Intelligence score
- Wisdom score
- Charisma score
- Armor Class
- Current hit points
- Class levels (if any)
- Challenge rating
- Creature type
- All damage vulnerabilities
- All damage resistances
- All damage immunities
- All condition immunities
- If it is a spellcaster, the spells it has prepared
- At the DM's option, you might also realize you know a piece of the creature's history or one of its personality traits, if it has any.
