Arana (Shard Ne'Vaal Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
Arana is a peninsula nation south of the Gilo Gulf. It is a temperate, vibrant land perfect for farming. This fertile ground was noticed by its strong neighbors like Preius, and Arana soon had to fight for its right to exist as a free country.
History[edit]
Governance[edit]
Arana was originally a land of feudal nobles who ruled over their serfs and farms. It was towards the end of the Lost Era that a king was appointed from one of the noble families. Due to fear of their power being seized, the king designated was little more than an arbitrator between the nobles for various squabbles and legislative meetings. The last king of Arana was Amalrique the IV, descendant of Amalrique the I, who was the third king of Arana. Amalrique the IV is infamous for being a total puppet to Preius during the Bridge Years. Eventually, the monarchy was overthrown by peasant rebellion that was actually fomented in part by some of the nobles that soured on Preius rule. This was known as the Piercing Veil Rebellion. Unfortunately, Preius dispatched their forces to put down the rebellion and much of the collaborators were all subjugated and executed. Arana would never see independence before its destruction during the Gorge.
