Zerg[edit]

The Zerg Swarm is a corrupt race of twisted flesh, splintered off from the primal Zerg by an evil god which sought to create a living weapon. They are attuned to psionic energies, and a sufficiently powerful psionic being can use their abilities to dominate and control the Swarm through their hive mind. When an individual is separated from the Hivemind they become feral, reverting to animalistic survival behavior; hunting for food and fighting when threatened. When dominated by a psionic being, they perform their tasks with unswerving loyalty, heedless of their own lives. While they do not evolve individually, an intelligent and capable controller could use the inherent plasticity of their DNA to adapt the swarm to fight in almost any environment.
