Medium aberration (zerg), unaligned Armor Class 13 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Con +6 Hivemind. The roach can communicate thoughts and emotions telepathically with other zerg in a 1,000-foot radius. This communication is impossible if no overlords are within 1 mile, and is interrupted for 10 minutes if the roach takes psychic damage. Regeneration. The roach regains 4 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point. ACTIONSTalons. Melee Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) piercing damage. Acidic Bile. Ranged Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, range 40/80 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d10) acid damage.

The roach is a sturdy front-line unit with enormous health-regeneration capabilities. It is designed to absorb as much damage as possible while weakening enemy defenses with its projectile acid attack. It is also a flanking specialist, able to tunnel underground to surround enemy forces or surprise an unprepared enemy. When the roach has accomplished its objective, it will burrow back underground and tunnel away, rapidly regenerating from any injuries. |
