Weave Shadows (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
Transmutation cantrip | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 60 ft. (5 ft. cube) |
Components: | S |
Duration: | Instantaneous |
You change the form of shadows that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You affect it in one of the following ways:
- You instantaneously expand the shade to an adjacent 5 foot cube, provided that no light source exists in the new location. After 1 hour, the expanded shade returns to normal.
- You double or halve the deepness of the shade for 1 hour (dim light becomes darkness, or vice versa).
- You cause the shadows to instantaneously snuff out a candle, a torch, or another small flame.
- You change the form of the shade and animate it as you like. You might cause a creature's shadow to appear larger, shadows to thrash wildly at your feet, or cause darkness to pool into a simple shape. In any case, the shade remains animated for 1 hour.
Although this spell can create darkness, the darkness created by it is non-magical. Additionally, while nonmagical light can't illuminate an area affected by this spell, any spell of 1st level or higher that creates light instantly dispels any darkness or animated shadows created by this spell.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
