This campaign is set in the present day world (with the key difference that magic, monsters, and all these glorious things, are real, if hidden). Following an organisation that tries to control paranormal events, players will investigate magic and monsters, all the while trying to remain as secretive as possible. This page is intended currently as a guide for players, but Dungeon Masters may also run adventures in this setting reasonably easily, as most setting details can be googled!

The Agency Universe

The Agency setting is one where monsters are real, danger lurks in the dark, and a handful of operatives tirelessly rage against the dying of the light. It leans into horror, detective, and monster hunter tropes. Normal humans are pitted against horrors beyond human comprehension, and often the toll is high. Designed for gritty one-shot play, the setting is geared more towards the experience of investigating the paranormal than the exploration of the world. The pages below aim to provide flavour for the setting, and allow players to fit their characters into the world.

The Normal World
Day in, day out, the people of Earth go about their lives none the wiser to the eternal war being fought around them. They know nothing of the monsters that stalk the streets at night, nor their own protectors.
The Hidden Battleground
In the spaces nobody dares look, monsters lurk around each corner, and the Agency fights a perpetual battle to maintain a perilous status quo.
The Places Beyond
Just past the veil between our world and the next, a million horrors wait their turn to bring their terrible intents to our doorstep.
