College of Radiance (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
College of Radiance[edit]
Bard Subclass
Bards of the College of Radiance use their music to channel the power of the sun through themselves.
- Bonus Cantrip
When you join the College of Radiance at 3rd level, you learn the Sacred Flame cantrip, which counts as a bard spell for you and does not count against the number of cantrips you know. Moreover, when you cast this cantrip, you may target two creatures you can see within range, provided they are within 5ft of each other.
- Expanded Spell List
Also at 3rd level, you gain access to additional spells. These count as bard spells for you, and do not count against the number of spells you know. These spells are gained at the levels specified in the Expanded Spells table below:
Bard Level | Spell |
---|---|
3rd | Flame Blade |
5th | Daylight |
7th | Wall of Fire |
9th | Flame Strike |
11th | Investiture of Flame |
- Radiant Soul
At 6th Level, you have mastered the art of weaving radiant magics. You gain resistance to radiant damage, and any spell you cast that deals fire damage may deal radiant damage for you if you wish. Also, any time you deal radiant damage, you may expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration to deal extra damage, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and adding it to the total of the damage you deal.
- Risen from Ashes
At 14th Level, you have learned how to channel radiant energy through your body to bring yourself back from the brink of death. When you succeed on a death saving throw, or as an action on your turn if you have failed three death saving throws, you may return yourself to life with 1 Hit Point. When you do so, you erupt with radiant light, throwing bright light for 60ft and dim light for a further 30ft until the start of your next turn, causing attacks targeting you to be made at disadvantage. Any creatures you choose within 30ft of you, that do not have total cover from you, must succeed on a constitution saving throw against your spell save DC, or take 3d12 radiant damage, taking half as much damage on a successful save.
Once you have used this feature, you may not use it again until you have completed a long rest.
