School of Wizardry[edit]

Wizard Subclass

The School of Wizardry is a catch-all term for any wizard that does not have a specific specialty. These wizards are often among the less powerful, and many will choose to specialize later in their training if they have the chance.

Flexible Learner

After you select this school at 2nd level, you may switch to a different arcane tradition after any long rest, if you have access to appropriate tutelage. Once you have made this change, it cannot be reverted.

Quick Study

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy any spell that is of the highest or second-highest level you have spell slots for into your spellbook is halved.

Minor Arcana Alteration

Also at 2nd level, you know how to weave magic in flexible ways. When you cast a spell of first level or higher, you may change the damage type or required saving throw. Once you have used this feature, you may not use it again until you have completed a short or long rest.

Widening Knowledge

By 6th level, you are beginning to branch out in your studies. You gain two 2nd level features from a school of magic found in the Player’s Handbook, (or others, at the DM's discression). One of these must be a “savant” feature. Any improvement these features would normally gain at a higher level is not available to you. You gain another two of these features at 10th level, and two more at 14th level.

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 10th level, you add your Intelligence modifier to the damage you deal with any wizard cantrip.

Major Arcana Alteration

At 14th level, your ability to change the properties of your spells has increased. You may now change the damage type and saving throw at the same time, and you may use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier, and you regain any expended uses after a short or long rest.
