Talk:Arcane Megoi (5e Creature)
Megoi isn't a creature type. Perhaps monstrosity would fit? SirSprinkles (talk) 22:42, 9 October 2021 (MDT)
Yes, maybe, but I designed megoi to have their own type--Gdd4270 (talk) 05:18, 10 October 2021 (MDT)--Gdd4270 (talk) 05:18, 10 October 2021 (MDT)
- I've got problems with this for a number of reasons, namely the fact that literally nothing describes what they look like. Not even having a creature type to base this off of doesn't help. If you really want them to be special, do humanoid type, megoi subtype. They all seem to be medium anyways. --SwankyPants (talk) 10:04, 10 October 2021 (MDT)
What megoi look like? Well they often have dark cloaks and staffs of power, but if you want to use them, you can use that info or make it up sort of. Oh by the way, megoi are not all Medium.--Gdd4270 (talk) 17:44, 24 October 2021 (MDT)
- That helps to a small degree, but you could also make any monster look like whatever you want anyways, so it feels like a moot point. For example, dragons have at least some unifying physical features, so having something on that level would be nice. Slender frames, crackly grey skin, bright yellow eyes, extra limbs, or anything like that could send it in the right direction. --SwankyPants (talk) 18:36, 24 October 2021 (MDT)
Sure. I can give you a basic description. Normal megoi do have slender frames, indeed, and are taller than humans, usually 6 to 8 feet.--Gdd4270 (talk) 15:32, 25 October 2021 (MDT)
Ok. See this. --Gdd4270 (talk) 15:10, 30 October 2021 (MDT)
- Dude, you have to stop linking to pages that don't exist yet :D--Yanied (talk) 15:11, 30 October 2021 (MDT)
This whole discussion[edit]
Megoi do have their own type for other reasons. --Gdd4270 (talk) 16:17, 30 October 2021 (MDT)
- If it's a setting specific reason, that's better on the setting page rather than a general type. This also helps it be more playable in general, rather than specific to a world where they are a type. In that case, they are better on a supplement, similar to the setting stuff like JJBA (which still follows 5e creature typing by the way. You don't see something like "stand user" as a type.)--Yanied (talk) 16:33, 30 October 2021 (MDT)
