Siegfried

Weapon (longsword), Artifact (Requires attunement)

Siegfried was one of five weapons crafted by the Rainbow Sage to be used by humans in order to end the war between the First Dragons. Alongside Brynhildr, the Raijinto, and the Fujin Yumi, it is necessary in order to unlock the full power of the Yato. After the war, the blade was passed down through the Nohrian royal family.

This magic longsword has the following properties:

  • You gain a +3 bonus to attack rolls with the Siegfried. You also deal an additional 2d6 necrotic damage on hit, in addition to the weapon's normal damage.
  • You have resistance to necrotic and psychic damage while wielding this magic longsword.
  • When you take the Attack action on your turn while wielding this magic longsword, instead of attacking normally, you can make a ranged spell attack with a range of 15 feet. The attack bonus for this spell attack equals your normal attack bonus with the Siegfried. On a hit, this spell attack deals 2d6 necrotic damage.
  • When you hit a creature with an attack from the Siegfried, you can attempt to frighten the target. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save, the target is frightened by you until the start of your next turn. You can use this property a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.
