Ryomen's Cleave (5e Spell)
1st-level Conjuration | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 120 feet |
Components: | S |
Duration: | Instantaneous |
You make a Wisdom (Insight) roll + the Spell Slot Level that you are using, contested against the target's Charisma (Deception) roll to accurately determine its number of hit dice. On a success you become aware of the number of HD the creature has. On a failure you inaccurately judge the creature's hit dice according to one of the following formulas:
- Formula = HD * ((10 + Spell Slot Level) / (20 + Diff.)) rounded down. HD is the total number of the Hit Dice that the target has, Diff. is target's Charisma (Deception) check minus your Wisdom (Insight) check.
- Alternatively, use Formula 2 = HD * 0.5 rounded down.
Next, you fling a conjured slash and make a spell attack roll with a bonus equal to the spell slot level used to cast this spell against the creature. On a hit, the target takes magical slashing damage. You roll a number of damage dice equal to the number of hit dice you have learned the target has (even if it is inaccurate). The spell's damage die depends on the creature's size shown in the table below.
Creature Size | Damage Die |
---|---|
Tiny | 1d4 |
Small | 1d4 |
Medium | 1d6 |
Large | 1d8 |
Huge | 1d10 |
Gargantuan | 1d12 |
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, your attack roll increases and you may increase the size of the damage die by 1 for every two spell slots above 1st.
