Broom Icon.svg.png This page needs grammatical help. Reason: This spell has a lot of clunky wording that makes it confusing to understand. Moreover, it uses an excessive amount of math to produce what is quite honestly a rather mundane effect, and could stand to be simplified down so that it's more understandable and usable by the average 5e layman.

Ryomen's Cleave
1st-level Conjuration
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: S
Duration: Instantaneous

You make a Wisdom (Insight) roll + the spell slot that you are using contested against a creatures Charisma (Deception) roll to accurately determine its number of hit die. On a success you become aware of the number of HD the creature has. The spell's damage die depends on the creature's size:

Spell's Damage Die
Creature Size Damage Die
Tiny d4
Small d4
Medium d6
Large d8
Huge d10
Gargantuan d12

You fling the conjured slash and make a spell attack roll against the creature (adding the level of the spell slot that you used to the attack roll). If it hits then you deal (number of hit die) * (damage die) magical slashing damage to the target. On a failure the spell misses and the slot is wasted. On a failure of the Wisdom (Insight) roll you inaccurately judge the creature's hit die to be less than what it actually is up to a minimum of a quarter of their actual number of hit die.

(Formula to be used here = GIF[0.75*HD(1 -(Difference in rolls)/(20 + Charisma (Deception, Target) - Wisdom (Insight, Caster) - Spell Level)) + 0.25*HD] where HD is the actual total number of the Hit Die that another creature has) Or you can simply say that that the HD judged from a failed roll is half the total HD

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher your attack roll increases and you may increase the size of the damage die by 1 for every two spell slots above level 1.
