Maelstrom, Variant (5e Spell)

You summon a small, 10 ft radius whirlwind within range. Each creature within range of the whirlwind must make a Strength saving throw or be pulled into the center. As an action, a creature can attempt a Strength check to escape. Once a creature escapes or if it succeeds the initial saving throw, the area is simply difficult terrain for them. Once the spell ends, all creatures are free to move as they like.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the radius of the whirlwind increases by 5 ft. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the spell lasts until dispelled or you lose concentration.
