Imitation Philosopher's Stone (FMA Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous Item, Uncommon A cheap imitation for a true Philosopher's Stone. However, it is certainly a powerful alchemical reagent, and comes with a lesser cost to human life. While lacking the raw power of a human soul to open the Gate of Truth, it is something of a true Fifth Element, being lightweight, incredibly dense, and directly transmutable into living and nonliving matter. Red Water. When a creature touches any amount of red water directly, they must attempt a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take 3d6 necrotic damage. On a success, they take half as much damage. Red Gas. If 1 pint of red water spends 1 hour outside of container made of glass or magical material, it evaporates, becoming red gas that fills a 60 ft. radius that passes through any material other than glass or magical material. At the end of each minute a creature spends within red gas, they must attempt a DC 12 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they become poisoned until they are end a long rest outside of such an area. If a creature spends 1 week poisoned in this way, they become poisoned permanently, and 1 pint of red water's worth of red gas is absorbed entirely in their body. Red Stone. If 1 pint of red water goes under 200 tons of pressure, or if a creature completely absorbs 1 pint of red water's worth of red gas, it becomes a die-sized red stone within their body. A red stone must be removed from a creature with a DC 16 Wisdom (Medicine) check using a set of doctor's tools. On a success, the stone is removed. On a failure, the stone is destroyed, and the creature loses 3d6 maximum hit points. Advanced Alchemical Agent. Each pint of red water, or its equivalent of red gas or stones, has 12 Alchemical Stamina within it. While holding the material, a transmutation alchemist may spend any Alchemical Stamina within it as if it were their own. If a pint of red water or a red stone runs out of Alchemical Stamina, it evaporates into nothing. If a homunculus consumes a red stone, they regain 1/4 the number of Alchemic Stamina points as soul points, or an equal number of temporary soul points if this would increase them above their maximum. If they completely absorb red gas, they regain soul points in the same way, but gain 1 level of exhaustion. If they consume red water, they lose 3d6 maximum hit points. |
