The Genryu are a species of titanic dragons that once ruled the earth before the time of man. What few remain in the modern day congregate around Mount Koryu and act as guardians to the Ryu clan, keeping their land fertile and peaceful, and are in turn guraded by the Ryu clan, who keep enemy nations from harming the mystical beasts. It is speculated that the Elemental Genryu, of which there are typically only five of at any given time, predate chakra, as they instead split light into wavelengths to preform similar techniques. As such, if one were to combine their power into a single "Light Genryu", it is believed that one would end up with a beast capable of conquering the world, or destroying it.

Variants: Elemental Genryu

Among the legendary Genryu are six powerhouses, each utilizing a different element.

Wind Genryu. The Wind Genryu is immune to magical slashing damage, its Genryu Breath action deals magical slashing damage, and it has a flying speed equal to its movement speed.

Fire Genryu. The Fire Genryu is immune to fire damage, and its Genryu Breath action deals fire damage and has an additional 15 feet of range.

Earth Genryu. The Earth Genryu is immune to magical bludgeoning damage, its Genryu Breath action deals magical bludgeoning damage, and it has a burrowing speed equal to its movement speed, and it leaves a 10-foot-diameter tunnel in its wake.

Lightning Genryu. The Lightning Genryu is immune to lightning damage, its Genryu Breath action deals lightning damage, it doesn't have a climbing speed, and it can take the dodge, dash, or disengage action as a bonus action.

Water Genryu. The Water Genryu is immune to magical piercing damage, its Genryu Breath action deals magical piercing damage, and it has a swimming speed equal to its movement speed. Additionally, it can breathe air and water.

Light Genryu. The Light Genryu is immune to bludgeoning, slashing, piercing, lightning, and fire damage, its Genryu Breath action deals force damage and can replace any attack that would be made as part of its multiattack action, and it has a flying speed equal to its movement speed. The Light Genryu has a CR of 16, 136 (16d8 + 64) hit points, and 40 red chakra.
