Range: | 60 feet |
Components: | V, S, M (a small piece of red chalk) |
Duration: | 1 round |
You create a small, shining ball of fire in your hands before hurling at a creature within range. As it flies, the fire takes the form of your mark. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 fire damage and is branded until the end of your next turn. While it is branded, the target takes an extra 1d4 fire damage the first time each time that it takes fire damage. If you cast this spell on a creature that is already branded, the new brand replaces the old one.
This spell's damage increases when you reach certain levels. At 5th level, the ranged spell attack deals an extra 1d6 fire damage to the target on a hit, and the damage the target takes from the brand increases by 1d4 (2d6 and 2d4). Both damage rolls increase again at 11th level (3d6 and 3d4) and again at 17th level (4d6 and 4d4).
