Make a melee spell attack against one creature. The target takes 4d8 necrotic damage on a hit, and you gain hit points equal to the damage dealt. This spell has no effect on undead or constructs.

At higher levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, it deals an additional 1d8 damage for each spell slot above 5th.
