Range: | Touch |
Components: | S, M (a melee weapon worth at least 1 sp) |
Duration: | 8 hours |
You brandish the weapon used in the spell's casting and imbue it with excess life force. This spell normally has a casting time of 10 minutes, however it can be cast as a bonus action if a hostile creature within 30 feet of you died since the end of your last turn and it was not a construct. The weapon remains imbued for the duration, or until the weapon is used to make an attack roll, in which case the spell ends at the start of your next turn. If the weapon isn't already a magic weapon, it becomes one for the duration.
While imbued, the weapon has a +1 bonus to attack rolls, and deals an extra 1 necrotic damage when it hits. If the imbued weapon already had a bonus to attack rolls, then only the higher bonus is used.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have no more than three weapons imbued at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
This spell's bonus to attack rolls and damage increases by 1 when you reach 5th level (+2), 11th level (+3), and 17th level (+4).
